Chapter 13 Was it really necessary to fire so many shots?

With her hands in her trench coat pockets, Yoruichi Toyama walked out of the apartment building and took out her phone to check the time.

It's been two hours since I left the hotel, I have to hurry back.

However, before that...

A gentle breeze blew through the spring night, carrying a slight chill in the air.

Yoruichi Toyama therefore wrapped her trench coat tighter, covering the men's shirt and trousers underneath.

He looked up and glanced in the direction, then quickly walked toward the clothing store whose lights were still on.

Although changing into women's clothing would still alert her to her tall accomplice, Yoruichi Toyama had already devised a plan.

What he didn't see was a figure hidden in the shadow of a lamppost under the streetlights across from the apartment.

"A woman came out, alone." The man said in a low voice, as if he were holding some kind of communication device.

"Yes, Mr. Toyama did not come out."

"The woman seems to be... going to buy clothes?"

...

After giving the name "Hirota Masami," Yoruichi Toyama received her room key from the hotel lobby reception desk and then took the elevator upstairs.

Now, it's time to witness a miracle.

Looking at my disguise, I wonder if that tall man will recognize me?

Yoruichi Toyama took a deep breath in the elevator.

I remember Gu Long once said that the key to disguise lies in pretending to be someone who doesn't exist.

Because you're impersonating someone someone knows, you need to mimic their language, actions, and various subconscious habits and quirks.

If anything goes wrong, people will inevitably become suspicious.

Therefore, even with Su Rongrong, a master of disguise, as his backer, Chu Liuxiang only dared to create a virtual persona, such as Guandong Ginseng Guest.

It's obviously impossible for him to impersonate Gong Nanyan in front of Shui Mu Yin Ji.

Fortunately, Miyano Akemi and that tall man didn't have "that kind" of relationship.

Hopefully, the other person doesn't know her that well.

Yoruichi Toyama relaxed for a moment, then swiped her card to enter.

"I'm back," he said preemptively.

The tall man who was drinking beer and watching TV on the sofa snorted.

"You're really brave to go out on a date with a man at a time like this."

"What can I do?" Yoruichi Toyama replied with a complaining tone, casually taking off her trench coat.

"I met that person while doing business at the bank. If we don't calm him down, who knows what he might say."

"Since we're going to hide here, the fewer people who notice us, the better."

"Once the storm passes, ha..."

With Miyano Akemi's face in hers, Toyama Yoruichi smiled slyly and sat down on another sofa.

The tall man glanced at him casually, then raised an eyebrow.

"You changed your clothes?"

Yoruichi Toyama was wearing a women's suit at the moment, and because of its proper tailoring, she looked very capable.

However, the suits of that era were popular with wide shoulders, and both sides had sponge shoulder pads to support them, which effectively concealed the fact that her figure was not quite the same as that of Akemi Miyano.

Noticing the tall man's gaze, Yoruichi Toyama deliberately feigned displeasure.

"N-It's none of your business!"

With that, she stood up angrily and walked towards her room.

The tall man chuckled behind him, seemingly understanding the implication.

"That outfit was torn beyond repair, wasn't it?"

"I never expected you to be this kind of woman. You used to be so proper."

"I said, you..."

With a "bang," Yoruichi Toyama slammed the door shut behind her.

He let out a long sigh of relief.

It seems we've passed the first hurdle.

So, what happens next...?

Yoruichi Toyama touched the small plastic box in the pocket of her trench coat.

...

The next morning, Ran, who couldn't get through to the phone number left by "Hirota Masami," forced Kogoro Mouri to take her and Conan to the rented house in Nerima Ward to inquire about the whereabouts of "Mr. Hirota and his daughter."

Unexpectedly, he learned that Mr. Hirota had been killed, and hurriedly went to Inspector Megure to confirm.

Then, they encountered another detective hired by the tall man using the alias "Hirota Akira".

After comparing the information from all three parties, it was discovered that Mr. Hirota was not a migrant worker from out of town, but a native Tokyo resident.

Moreover, he was all alone, with neither brothers nor daughters.

Conan, realizing the connection between them, was shocked and followed the tracker he had accidentally stuck on Hirota Masami's watch all the way to the hotel.

Avoiding the fashionable woman who nearly bumped into him, Conan headed straight for the 8th floor indicated by the tracker.

But what he saw in the room left him speechless.

A row of aluminum suitcases was neatly arranged against the living room wall.

Meanwhile, the tall man Hirota Akira, whom the detective had mentioned, was lying on the living room carpet, drooling and snoring loudly.

"Hey, kid... Ah! What, what's going on?"

Kogoro Mouri, who arrived shortly after, exclaimed in surprise.

Conan, no longer bothered to pretend to be a child, pushed Kogoro's knee to stop him from entering the house.

"Uncle, call the police quickly! This person is very likely one of the robbers in the billion-dollar robbery case."

"Huh?" Kogoro exclaimed again, "He's a robber? Then... what about the ten billion yen?"

"I think those are the ones."

Conan pointed to the suitcases piled against the wall.

Inspector Megure, who received the report, said he would arrive with officers soon.

After confirming that the tall man was still unconscious, Kogoro conducted a preliminary inspection of the suitcase.

As expected, they were all brand-new banknotes with consecutive serial numbers, which must have been the stolen money from the bank robbery.
