Chapter 130 Eighteen Hours on Azure Island (4)

After receiving permission from the two guards, Yoruichi Toyama entered the room.

The guest room, temporarily used as a detention center, had all potentially threatening items removed. The slender girl sat on the bare bed, looking exceptionally lonely.

When she heard the door open, she turned her head and stared at Yoruichi Toyama, then gave a contemptuous smile.

"That shamanic zither, right?" Yoruichi Toyama said before she could even speak.

"Is Naguni no Morihiko your father?"

The girl's body jerked violently, her smile vanished, and anger flared in her eyes.

"How did you know? Who are you? Are you from the Lanze Group?"

She asked a series of questions while bending over like a small animal, her fists clenched tightly.

They were completely unaware of how much information their words revealed.

Even if she were a computer genius, a 15-year-old girl who should have already dropped out of school would know far too little about language and communication skills.

Yoruichi Toyama gestured to calm things down and sat down in a chair at a suitable distance from her.

He was able to get this opportunity to speak alone with the arrested criminal thanks to his nominal position in the Metropolitan Police Department, and the long-standing chaos in police management.

Inspector Shiratori was busy interrogating Ryuji Mizuki, the adult who seemed to know the most details about the incident.

Yoruichi Toyama did not come to find the witch under the guise of asking questions.

Wuqin's computer is in Akechi's hands. Yoruichi Toyama believes that Akechi will find the other accomplices, as well as King Xisa himself, faster than anyone else.

That guy who thought he was sacrificing a pawn to save the king probably doesn't realize how thoroughly he's been exposed.

Yoruichi Toyama doesn't need to worry about those things.

Therefore, besides passing the time, the reason for visiting Wuqin was genuinely to save a child who was being exploited because of hatred and ignorance.

Naguni Mukoto is the daughter of Naguni Morihiko, the private historian who discovered the "deep blue" ruins on the seabed off Okinawa.

In their efforts to develop the Deep Blue Ruins on their own, Naguni Morihiko and his partners risked everything, only to fail because they were unable to compete with a behemoth like the Blue Ze Group.

Both of them died in despair, leaving behind orphans like Wuqin.

From this perspective, it is understandable that Wuqin hates the Lanze Group.

But is she willing to admit it now?

“No, I’m a detective,” Yoruichi Toyama replied to Mikoto, trying her best not to make her nervous. “I’m working with the police right now.”

“So you’re a cop…one of the police!” Wuqin replied swiftly. “I’m not telling you anything!”

Yoruichi Toyama smiled and spread his hands.

“I haven’t asked anything yet,” he said. “Besides, I’m not in charge of those things.”

"I just wanted to talk to you about your father..."

"There's nothing to talk about!" the girl interrupted him, her face frosty.

“My father passed away three years ago, and everything I’ve done has nothing to do with him!”

That's really stubborn, or rather, inflexible.

Yoruichi Toyama thought silently.

Most children, when told about their father's alleged "wrongful conviction," would probably talk at length about it.

It's not appropriate to continue discussing the Lanze Group matter now.

Yoruichi Toyama shifted her posture, and asked casually, "Really? Then what are you doing all this for?"

“Of course, it’s for the great Kingdom of Neom!” Wuqin answered without hesitation, but then paused, as if she felt she had said too much.

“Even if we told you about our noble mission, someone like you wouldn’t understand.”

Yoruichi Toyama, who had been openly discriminated against, couldn't help but laugh.

"Isn't it a bad way to put it? Have you, on behalf of your kingdom, or your king, or some god, condemned me?"

Do you know me? Do you understand me? You don't even know my name, do you?

"I didn't do anything to you, miss!"

Seeing Yoruichi Toyama feigning pitifulness and pleading for justice, Wuqin hesitated slightly.

She wasn't the kind of vicious criminal after all; reasoning with her was generally reasonable.

"So what's your name?" she asked finally.

Yoruichi Toyama stood up and extended a hand to her.

"Yoichi Toyama, it's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Wuqin."

...

Although they did not shake hands, Wuqin's attitude softened somewhat.

Under Yoruichi Toyama's deliberate guidance, she told him about the Kingdom of Neom and King Cesar.

Wuqin saw that website while browsing the internet in the school's computer lab.

At first, she thought it was just a homepage promoting environmental protection, but when she saw the historical legends about the Deep Blue Ruins, she realized that it was what her father had been researching all his life.

Filled with trepidation and curiosity, she sent her first email to the website.

A reply came quickly. In the letter, the website owner, known as "King Xisa," told her about the Neom Kingdom civilization from 10,000 BC and the cosmic power they believed in.

According to an ancient prophecy in the Kingdom of Neom, the kingdom will suffer annihilation, but will reappear after a long period of time.

"When the planetary Grand Cross forms in the sky, the Kingdom of Neom will rise from the seabed, and King Cisar will rule the world and give humanity a just judgment!"

Wuqin solemnly uttered the words that she and Shuicheng and their grandson had repeated countless times, as if it were a summary.

Yoruichi Toyama barely managed to hold back her laughter.
