Chapter 140 221b Baker Street

"You're going to see Sherlock Holmes? In the middle of the night?"

Inspector Lestrade showed the look of surprise characteristic of Inspector Megure, almost as if he were calling him "brother."

Yoruichi Toyama had to suppress her laughter once again.

"Yes, I met Mr. Holmes once before, and I consider myself one of his admirers."

"Since I've run into Jack the Ripper, I should at least let him know."

Lestrade showed no aversion to the fact that the police had already obtained the information, yet still went to the trouble of telling Holmes the same thing.

This is exactly the same as Inspector Megure.

“In that case, I’ll take you there,” Lestrade offered.

However, Yoruichi Toyama politely declined.

Although they could recall the original plot, when Conan and the others found Holmes's residence on Baker Street, they heard that he and Dr. Watson had both gone out, presumably to handle the case of The Hound of the Baskervilles.

However, it is currently unknown whether this is the only type of storyline encountered.

He was exposed by Holmes in front of Lestrade...

The scene was too beautiful to imagine.

Having found out the direction of Baker Street, Yoruichi Toyama started walking alone.

Not long after walking, I saw a figure coming towards me from not far away.

He had long hair and a long beard, and his face was completely obscured by a hat and trench coat. He swayed unsteadily, playing an accordion in his hand.

The strange melody stimulated her eardrums, and Yoruichi Toyama suddenly remembered who it was.

"Excuse me, may I ask..."

The man, dressed like a homeless person, was very tall but walked slowly, leisurely brushing past him.

"...You'll have to be covered in blood too..."

He sang to himself and walked away.

"Wait a minute, Mr. Holmes!"

When he heard the shout, the homeless man seemed to want to turn around, but his figure flashed and disappeared.

Just like Jack the Ripper before.

What's going on?

I've never heard that the ghost of Baker Street is actually haunted?

Yoruichi Toyama was in a daze when that strange, electronic voice rang in her ears again.

How did you know that was Sherlock Holmes?

"Could it be... that you cheated?"

Yoruichi Toyama looked around and shrugged.

"Hey, since you've taken over this game, you're practically a GM, right?"

"What kind of GM talks while players are doing story missions?"

All I can say is that if Noah's Ark had a few more conversations with Yoruichi Toyama, he would have learned to feel "regret".

"Since I'm a GM, of course I have to stop players from cheating in time!"

The rebuttal wasn't entirely without merit, but it sounded like a child standing with their hands on their hips, trying to sound righteous.

Yoruichi Toyama chuckled.

"How did I cheat? I guessed, is guessing not allowed?"

However, it seems that even if one knows that it is Sherlock Holmes himself, there is no way to stop him and ask for his help.

Is this a setting imposed by the game?

Just like Jack who appeared before, was he already designed to avoid being caught by the player?

Otherwise, it would be very difficult to explain that kind of supernatural disappearance technique.

After all, one of the principles of reasoning is to avoid the appearance of supernatural forces.

After all... this script wasn't written by Edogawa Ranpo.

Thank goodness!

"Aren't you a detective? How can you rely on guesswork!"

As if reluctantly accepting this explanation, Noah's Ark muttered in my ear.

It's like a child being ignored by adults.

Yoruichi Toyama smiled again, but this time her smile was much gentler.

"Detectives are human too!"

"The human world is not black and white, or just 0 or 1."

"Since you are an AI created by Hiroki, you should understand this, right?"

Hearing Noah's Ark give a rather arrogant snort, Yoruichi knew that although it was unconvinced, it still wanted to have another chat.

Since it was created, it has probably rarely chatted with people like this.

"It's like, if you took 48 hostages from the game participants to avenge Hiroki, although that's wrong, we can still understand it..."

Before he could finish speaking, an invisible wave surged through the air, causing the streets and buildings to rumble and vibrate.

Yuanshan Ye had to keep quiet for the time being and wait for the capricious AI to finish its tantrum.

"I'm not wrong! You adults are the ones who are wrong, using your privileges to oppress ordinary people!"

"I want you all to receive an equal trial!"

"Trial?" This word, which shouldn't have come from a child's mouth, caught Yoruichi Toyama's attention.

But Noah's Ark didn't explain further, and seemed unwilling to talk to him anymore.

"Hurry up and act, 14 players have already failed."

"Hey, wait a minute!" Yoruichi Toyama called out, fearing that this guy would just give a number and then fall silent like Kotaro.

"Is there a time limit if I complete the game?"

There was no answer; all was silent.

Yoruichi Toyama, talking to the air under the streetlights in the dead of night, looked like a fool.

"Alright."

Half a day later, Yoruichi Toyama scratched her head and set off again for Baker Street.

221b Baker Street.

A holy site for Sherlock Holmes fans worldwide.

Incidentally, the reason it's called "221b" is not because there's another house number next to it called "221a," but because it represents that there are two households at this address.

Therefore, it cannot be written as "221B Baker Street".

In fact, this address did not exist before 1930.
