What are you doing here?
Vermouth walked over with a cold smile and pushed her away with just one hand.
"A girl who can't even kill a chicken, what kind of protector of flowers is she trying to play?"
However, Akemi pounced on her again in the blink of an eye, and at the same time, Yoruichi Toyama suddenly sat up straight on the bed.
Don't touch her!
"Don't touch Yoruichi!"
Vermouth stopped by the bedside with a playful smile, watching Akemi struggle to grab one of her hands.
Yoruichi Toyama was in so much pain from her injury that her face turned pale and she was sweating profusely.
"Stop with those cheesy romance dramas, they're disgusting," she muttered to herself, walking to sit on the sofa a little further from the bed.
"I'm here to talk about that bet."
The overly nervous couple finally breathed a sigh of relief, and Akemi rushed over to support Yoruichi Toyama and help him lean against the headboard.
Yoruichi Toyama gazed into Absinthe's deep eyes.
"I think I won the bet, right?"
Do you intend to go back on your word?
Absinthe laughed heartily.
"If I had to say, my condition was to 'resolve the incident,' but you didn't even let it happen."
"Of course, you also caught the murderer, I don't deny that."
Seemingly noticing Yoruichi Toyama's indignant gaze, she quickly added a sentence.
"But I have another condition."
"That means you can't go against the organization."
"And what did you do? You protected the people the organization wanted to eliminate?"
Vermouth narrowed her eyes slightly, scrutinizing Yoruichi Toyama, who was injured and looked quite disheveled.
His half-exposed eyes revealed a light that was hard to decipher.
"You think I'll let you go after all this?"
What she said actually made a lot of sense.
She's too reasonable, which makes her seem unlike the unreasonable and willful aunt she usually is.
Yoruichi Toyama gradually gained some confidence.
"Then why didn't you kill me?"
"Your gun still had bullets in it when you were at the hotel, why didn't you fire it again?"
This was a somewhat sensitive question, and Yoruichi Toyama didn't wait for Vermouth's reply.
"Let's go back to the bet we made at the beginning. You said you wanted me to resolve the incident, right?"
"Although I don't know why, it's possible that you're just using me to get rid of that old man after he completes your mission."
"It's easier to have him caught by the police on the spot than to have him escape and then have you hunt him down to the ends of the earth."
"So, you're the one who got me involved in this operation. If you hadn't offered the bet, I certainly wouldn't have gone."
"How can you say that I am deliberately going against your organization?"
Yuanshan Yeyi spoke with great conviction.
But we also know that these are all smokescreens.
For Aunt Absinthe, there is no "right" or "wrong".
There are only "happy" and "unhappy".
When she's in a good mood, she might even spare your life with a sniper rifle in hand.
If you're unhappy, things become more difficult.
Unbeknownst to her, Yoruichi Toyama held her breath, awaiting her verdict.
As if seeing through his feigned composure, Vermouth remained silent for a moment, then laughed again.
"Okay, you win this bet."
"As for that bullet, you can consider it a reward for you...warrior."
She suddenly uttered this English word.
Yoruichi Toyama thought for a moment and couldn't help but smile bitterly.
"Warrior...a hero?"
"I have no intention of fighting dragons!"
“That’s not important.” Vermouth waved her hand dismissively. “A bet is a bet, and I will keep my promise to you.”
"As long as you don't interfere with the organization, I won't bother you and Miyano."
"but……"
She drew out her words in a tantalizing way, making Yoruichi Toyama tense up again.
"Don't be careless, Yuanshan. Just because I don't say anything doesn't mean others won't know."
"The fact that Miyano is still alive was discovered by another person in the organization."
"Who?" Yoruichi Toyama pressed.
Absinthe didn't answer immediately, but instead raised her eyebrows and looked at Akemi beside her for a while.
"This is interesting... You didn't tell him about 'Bourbon'?"
Akemi paused for a moment, then her expression became somewhat flustered, but she still tried to appear bewildered.
"Wha...what? Bourbon? I've heard of that codename, but I don't know this person..."
Absinthe laughed heartily.
Then, looking at Yoruichi Toyama, he seemed a little smug.
It's as if it's saying, "See, the Miyano family's girl is definitely not a good person."
"You're saying you don't know Bourbon?"
"Your ex-boyfriend from the FBI, Moroboshi Dai, or 'Rye,' whatever his name is..."
"He and Bourbon have always had a bad relationship, and they always work against each other on missions. Has he never mentioned this to you?"
Akemi, who was being interrogated one question after another, seemed to be struggling helplessly.
"I...I did say I've heard of Bourbon, but...His Majesty has met him, and I haven't..."
"Akami!" Yoruichi Toyama seemed to understand something and suddenly grabbed her hand.
"Is that Bourbon one of the people around us?"
"Is this someone we've met before?"
Why didn't you tell me?
"However, it's better that you don't know," Vermouth said, her expression changing as she tried to smooth things over.
"Miyano also wants to protect you."
Mingmei nodded weakly, looking like a timid, long-suffering wife from a TV drama.
