"Um, the address is here, but I don't recognize it and haven't been there yet."
"Let's go together!" Jingran didn't even look at the address, grabbed Mingmei and ran out. After thinking for a moment, she hailed a taxi.
It's a bit much for Miss Mingmei to take people riding shared bikes when she's just arrived.
"Driver, to number so-and-so on so-and-so road..."
"I'm not going!"
I had just read out the address and hadn't even gotten into the car when the taxi driver firmly waved his hand, indicating that he refused to take me.
Hey, this is the first time I've ever seen a police officer refuse to pick someone up!
Jingran reached for his hands on his hips, only to realize he wasn't wearing his police uniform and that he had his girlfriend with him.
This is clearly not a good time to use public office for private gain.
I had no choice but to ask politely, "Why?"
"Haven't you heard?" The driver glared at him irritably. "This address's been on the news, it's haunted!"
"What?"
Jingran was completely bewildered. Just as he was about to say, "I'm a successor to communism, and you're telling me about ghosts?", the driver rolled up the window and sped away.
Miss Mingmei watched the whole farce with a smile.
Finally, he came over and asked, "Is this place far?"
Jingran looked at the address again: "It's not far... Shall we walk there and take a look?"
"It's haunted!" Mingmei glanced at him with a smile.
"That's perfect!" Jingran suddenly became interested.
"Other detective agencies look for cats and dogs to investigate infidelity."
"Our detective agency catches demons and exorcises ghosts, warding off evil spirits and protecting homes!"
"Huh?" Akemi blinked. "When did our detective agency start offering this kind of service?"
"It's new, so when in Rome, do as the Romans do!" Jingran said casually, but stretched out a hand.
"Are you coming or not?"
"Let's go!" Mingmei smiled and placed her hand in his.
