Chapter 32 Danger, Conan, Danger!

I've disliked this so-called detective for a long time!

Shinichi Kudo thought bitterly.

As if guessing his thoughts, Yoruichi Toyama smiled and turned her head: "Actually, no, but..."

"Forget it, we're not wearing black trench coats anyway, are we?"

"I told you long ago, I'm on the side of justice!"

After uttering such cringeworthy lines, the two seemed to realize their shame and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

"Hey, hey, Conan! What did you just say?" Ran kept asking from the other end of the communicator.

"Are you playing a prank?"

"N-no, no!..." Conan, who was already overwhelmed with trouble, quickly replied.

"Um, I mean, I'm sorry, Sister Xiaolan, I haven't told you the location of the bomb yet..."

"It's in the men's restroom on the east side of the venue. Please ask the police to come quietly and not cause a commotion!"

...

"Huh? Aren't you leaving?" Yoruichi Toyama returned to the storage area, retrieved Taro and her own phone, and then turned to ask Tooru Amuro.

The other person put their hands in their pockets and shrugged.

"I'm a candidate to become the apprentice of the famous detective Kogoro Mouri. In order to gain my master's approval, I have to stand here and cheer him on!"

Oh right, Uncle Mori will be performing on stage with Ms. Yoko in a little while.

The thought of that horrible scene only strengthened Toyama Yoru's resolve as she picked up the cat and turned to leave.

But Amuro Tooru called out to him from behind.

"Mr. Toyama, have you been in Beika City lately?"

"You probably don't need to spy on that high school detective, do you?"

Yoruichi Toyama's newly accumulated goodwill towards this scoundrel spy, which she had developed through their shared battles, vanished in an instant.

Is it because they feel they're meddling in other people's business, and therefore want to get rid of them?

Thinking this to himself, he nodded with a faint smile.

"Mr. Amuro is right."

"Then I'll go back to live near Mount Fudo."

Amuro Tooru returned the greeting with a bright smile.

"Okay, don't forget to say hello to the owner of that owl café."

He even invited Kazami to go fishing together sometime!

Looking at his sunny and cheerful appearance, who would have thought that he was a cunning spy who uttered every word with a sharp edge?

Too lazy to say anything more, Yoruichi Toyama simply agreed and left.

Since the other party has said so, I really should go back to Fudoyama City to take a look.

Boss Wan Yimao was also among them...

Feeling a strange sense of unease, Yoruichi Toyama quickened her pace.

However, they were politely stopped at the hotel entrance.

"Excuse me, sir, please come this way for a security check."

Yuanshan Yeyi was confused at first, but when she followed him, she saw a familiar short, stout figure in a yellow trench coat.

I see!

The police set up a checkpoint at the hotel exit, partly to find the person who exchanged briefcases with Tequila, and partly so as not to disturb the presentation inside.

This time, the police seem to have a bit more brains.

However, since the press conference is still ongoing, not many people have left, and the area in front of the security checkpoint is rather deserted.

Inspector Megure also greeted them without any attempt to hide his greeting.

"Ah, Elder Yuanshan... uh, sir, you really are here!"

Seeing that this person was familiar with Inspector Megure, the police officers who had been on edge breathed a sigh of relief.

"Inspector Megure," Yoruichi Toyama, who wasn't called "brother" but already received the treatment of a younger brother, walked over and asked curiously, "Why is your Criminal Investigation Department here too? Shouldn't the Security Department handle something like this, like a bomb?"

This security department is not the same as the security department of the National Police Agency that Rei Furuya worked for; it is a department under the Metropolitan Police Department.

Their main responsibilities include counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, and explosive ordnance disposal.

Inspector Megure looked somewhat helpless.

"It's not just Mori's daughter; she's most familiar with our Criminal Investigation Department's First Investigation Division, so she called me directly to report it."

"However, our colleagues from the security department have already gone in, so there shouldn't be any problems."

“Oh, right,” he suddenly looked Yoruichi Toyama up and down, “Mr. Toyama, didn’t you and Conan discover that bomb…that unidentified object? Why are you out here?”

"I'm a coward!" Yoruichi Toyama said with a perfunctory smile. "Also, Conan has a deduction that he wants me to come out and tell the policeman at the door."

Anyway, Conan is "Sleeping Kogoro's" assistant, a reputation that has already been made known to the police.

Why not just blame Conan for all the spoilers?

As expected, Inspector Megure, upon hearing this reasoning of switching things over and over again, did not exclaim that it was outrageous, but instead nodded with a serious expression.

"In other words, the focus of the search should be on the three people who got the number plates between Mori and his daughter."

"One of the people's number plates should have already been changed, and the other two cannot be let go either."

After saying that, he issued instructions to the plainclothes detectives who had infiltrated the venue via walkie-talkie.

Seeing that Inspector Megure had come to his senses, Yoruichi Toyama breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that this time no one could escape.

Sure enough, not long after, the three employees of Full Paradise who had been hanging out together showed up.

Faced with the police who were on high alert, the two scheming men didn't last more than a few minutes before kneeling down and begging for mercy, confessing everything.

One of them was making a bomb in an attempt to commit murder, and the other was suspected of engaging in illegal transactions with a criminal organization. Both were apprehended by the police and put into a police car.

Meanwhile, Tequila, who was knocked unconscious by Yoruichi Toyama and thus escaped with his life, had already been taken out of the venue through the back door by another team of police officers and put in another car.

It should be considered a fairly satisfactory ending.

Yoruichi Toyama and Inspector Megure bid each other a polite farewell and were about to turn and leave when a black sedan suddenly sped up and braked abruptly in front of the police officers.

The person who got out of the car was none other than Kazami Yuya, the doorman's assistant to Inspector Furuya.
