Chapter 60 The Days Back at the Coffee Shop

Of course, the timeline remains as capricious as ever, with three Mondays, one Thursday, two Fridays, and one Sunday in this week.

So, aside from the live news broadcasts, Yoruichi Toyama is too lazy to watch TV because she can't follow her favorite shows.

The two arrived at the café that also served as a detective agency, but as expected, the door was tightly closed.

A piece of A4 paper was pasted on the door, with the following handwritten words written quite neatly:

The coffee shop owner has temporarily closed the shop to deal with family matters.

The detective agency president is out. If you have any requests for services, please drop your contact information into the mailbox.

There's also an arrow pointing to the mailbox by the door.

"That guy..." Yoruichi Toyama muttered, somewhat surprised, unsure whether to be satisfied or complain.

What is this? Just standing guard until the very end?

"Meow! Meow meow meow!"

Suddenly, Taro cried out anxiously under his arm.

[Host, open the door quickly! I wonder how Peng Zhijie is doing! ...]

"Uh..." Yoruichi Toyama was moved by this true love and quickly unlocked the door.

The door had barely opened a crack when Taro darted inside with a "meow."

After a pause of only two or three seconds, the sounds of a cat and a bird meowing, along with the sounds of them rolling around and fighting, came from inside the house.

It was exactly the same as when Yoruichi Toyama first came to the coffee shop.

After exchanging a helpless glance with Akemi, Yoruichi Toyama pushed open the door and saw a black cat and a grey owl rolling around in the slightly dusty room.

"So they really kept Hōnosuke behind..."

Yoruichi Toyama muttered to himself as he glanced around the neatly tidied room.

The dust was from a week of closure; otherwise, the counter and kitchen were neatly organized, showing the tidyer's obsessive-compulsive tendencies.

"What kind of person was that puppeteer?" Akemi, who was also looking around the room, suddenly asked with a sigh.

She wasn't necessarily looking for a definitive answer, but after thinking it over, Yoruichi Toyama decided to be fair:

"He's an evil guy, but not the inhuman kind."

Mingmei thought for a moment, then shook her head.

"I've never seen anyone like this before in the 'organization'..."

"The vast majority of them are evil people because they are evil people to begin with, which is why they do evil."

"Of course, Mr. Amuro and... well, their undercover agents are an exception."

Yoruichi Toyama knew who she wanted to talk about, and also knew why she hadn't mentioned that name.

So he didn't respond, but turned around and looked at the coffee shop where he had spent some time with "Boss Mao".

Gao Yuan, that guy, is definitely the opposite.

He was called a murderer because he committed murder.

He understands the "evil" side of people's hearts and uses it as a weapon.

Just like the Moon Shadow Island incident, he didn't let Asagi Narumi kill people with his own hands, but instead used the psychology of those villains to bring them to justice.

Yoruichi Toyama believed that he might not have intended to do a good deed every day.

Although Asano Minoru's experience does have similarities to his own.

But for Gao Yuan, who had already fallen into darkness, he simply regarded designing ingenious events as a kind of fun.

Killing was not his goal, but a necessary means for the "performance," a gimmick.

In the end, it turned out to be much better than the possible outcome.

"That guy seems to have evolved again..." Yoruichi Toyama couldn't help but mutter again.

Then he was immediately interrupted by Taro, who tumbled and crawled over to him.

The black cat puffed out its fur, even its tail grew thicker, and it stared wide-eyed, meowing incessantly.

[Holy crap, that scared the hell out of me! Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap! ...]

Yoruichi Toyama, who had never seen a time-traveling spirit so frightened, looked in the direction the spirit had rolled from.

Pengzhisuke was perched on his shelf, holding a dark object in his paws, tilting his head with a puzzled expression.

Upon closer inspection, it was a huge rat, and it was somewhat mutilated.

Yoruichi Toyama had a sudden realization: why would the meticulous Takato leave Honosuke locked in the shop, and why would he leave the skylight open, allowing a layer of dust to settle in the clean shop?

Unlike Taro, who is a fake cat, Pengnosuke is a real owl.

He'll go out and find food when he's hungry!

[Host, you need to control him! You need to control him! What kind of nonsense is this, bringing in that filthy stuff! And then making me eat it...]

[Huff...]

Unable to hold it in, Taro embarrassingly vomited all over the floor.

Unable to contain her smile, Yoruichi patted the cat's head to comfort it, then rolled up her sleeves with Akemi and began a new round of cleaning.

The coffee shop's sign was ultimately kept.

Although the owner had disappeared for a long time, he did not say he would terminate the lease and close the shop. Yoruichi Toyama and Akemi also felt that they should give their regular customers who were used to chatting and joking in the coffee shop a place to stay.

The store, which had just been cleaned up, welcomed its first returning customer.

"Boss, an iced coffee!" Mr. Itsuki, with a half-smoked cigarette dangling from his lips, called out as he entered.

When she saw that it was Akemi wearing an apron standing behind the counter, she couldn't help but be stunned for a moment.

"Hey, where's Boss Mao? He's not back yet?"

“Mr. Mao has gone back to his hometown, and we will take over the coffee shop from now on,” Akemi replied naturally.

"You would like an iced coffee, please wait a moment."

"Uh..." Mr. Itsuki certainly knew Akemi and Yoruichi Toyama. He scratched his head, hurriedly took the cigarette out of his mouth, ran out the door to extinguish it, threw it into the trash can, and then came back in.
