Chapter 67 The Crossing of Two Forces

“I am a failure, you’d better not use me as a benchmark.”

"After all, as you've seen, it's already taken a lot of effort just to 'stay alive'..."

That wasn't a complaint, Shiho could tell.

He wasn't lamenting the injustice of the world because he was wanted after committing a crime.

He probably genuinely finds "survival" difficult...

Just as I was thinking this, I noticed that the person opposite me got up and came over, gently taking my hand like a real mother.

"We should go too!"

As she said this, she paid the bill to the waiter and led Shiho out the door.

Because they passed by the two guests who entered, and they continued walking forward for a while, Gao Yuan spoke again.

"Should we follow them and explore the entertainment life of elementary school students, or find another place and wait for Conan-kun to return?"

Before Shiho could answer, she saw him lean slightly towards her, smiling like a kind and approachable adult.

"The choice is yours, my lady."

...

As Yoruichi Toyama and Akemi entered the coffee shop, they brushed past a mother and child.

My mother was the kind of housewife you see everywhere, around forty years old, with nothing particularly remarkable about her appearance or attire.

The child was fair-skinned and clean-cut. Although he was wearing a baseball cap and his face was obscured, I had a feeling that he was the kind of person who was pretty and cute.

Perhaps out of a woman's fondness for cubs, Akemi turned her head back a few more times.

Amuro Tooru waved to them when he saw them.

"Hey, Yuanshan, is your injury healed?"

The sound was so loud that it's hard to say he didn't do it on purpose.

But this person had such a sunny disposition that Yoruichi Toyama couldn't get angry.

He could only grunt and sit down on the bar.

"I want coffee!"

"No problem, I'll be right there!" Amuro Tooru agreed quite amicably. "How about a latte? It's milkier, and I remember you don't like things that are too bitter."

"At least you have a conscience..." Yoruichi Toyama felt a little better because of this attentiveness. She rested her chin on her hand on the bar and watched Tooru Amuro busily working. "I want an iced one!"

"Okay, okay!"

Mingmei nudged him from the side, a smile playing on her lips.

"What's wrong with you? You're just injured, yet you're throwing a tantrum like a child."

Deep behind the bar, Enomoto Azusa, another waitress at Poirot Cafe, couldn't help but chuckle as she approached Amuro Tooru.

"So Tohru-kun says that to everyone..."

“Believe me, Azusa-san, I’m truly dedicated to serving you,” Amuro Tooru replied earnestly, while simultaneously shielding himself with his body and pointing a thumbs-up at Yoruichi Toyama outside the bar. “That guy’s just taking advantage of the situation…”

"Achoo!" Yoruichi Toyama rubbed her nose, muttering a little annoyed, "I have a feeling that someone is talking bad about me behind my back..."

...

"I would say we left at just the right time," Takato said casually, following Conan and his friends at a distance.

Shiho, who was already getting used to his style, immediately had a flash of insight.

"You mean those two people who just came into the store?... That's strange..."

"Yes...is something strange?"

"That young lady... I feel like she looks a lot like someone I know..."

After saying that, Shiho shook her head, dismissing those unrealistic fantasies.

"That young lady is indeed a very gentle person."

"But the other one..."

For some reason, Gao Yuan's tone sounded rather like he was gritting his teeth.

"That's a really annoying guy..."
