Yoichi Toyama was stunned for a moment before realizing who the "aunt" Shiho was talking about was.
He didn't mind the person calling him "Mom" at all; she just looked at him and gave him a seemingly kind smile.
"I'll take Ai and go first," Gao Yuan said in a kind, middle-aged woman's voice, glancing at Amuro Tooru and Conan, who still looked bewildered. "Do you still have something to say to someone?"
What am I supposed to say when you take Shiho away?
But seeing the hand that Takato and Shiho were holding tightly, Toyama Yoru had to suppress his patience and said with a helpless smile, "Mom, Ai wants to come home with us."
"Is this... a hostage situation?"
"If you say so, then it is!"
Gao Yuan waved with his free hand, smiling as if he were really saying goodbye to his family for the time being, and pulled Shiho out of the theater together.
Yoruichi Toyama and Tooru Amuro exchanged glances, neither daring to move.
They all knew that Gao Yuan could pull out a sharp dagger at any moment.
What he held in his hands was the most important hostage to them, Shiho Miyano.
Regardless of whether Shiho willingly became a hostage, or whether Takato would actually threaten her life, they could not take the risk.
Only after the two figures had completely disappeared did they remember that it was time for them to leave the theater.
The children who couldn't see the Gomera movie were still muttering about how disappointed they were.
Ms. Yuriko, who saw them off, promised to give the guests a voucher so that they would have the opportunity to visit again.
"I think the owner will change his mind and keep the cinema open," she said.
The children were naturally delighted, and Conan took the opportunity to slip over to Amuro Tooru and whispered to him about the "important matter" he had mentioned earlier.
"Hmm." Amuro Tooru's eyes darted around, glancing at Conan's friends.
"There's no time to say anything else, but could you help me keep up with one person?"
"Huh? Who is it?" The children, who called themselves the "Junior Detective Club," immediately became interested.
“She’s Toyama’s mother,” Amuro Tooru said, ignoring the wink Toyama Yoruichi gave him.
"She had a little disagreement with Yuanshan before, and it wasn't appropriate to talk about it in front of others, so she had to leave first."
"Actually, Yuanshan is also very worried about Auntie..."
"Hey..." Yoruichi Toyama rubbed her forehead helplessly. She hadn't expected that the dog spy's skin was just as thick as hers, and that he could call her "Auntie" without any psychological pressure.
"Those are...my private matters, don't bother others."
Because it's impossible to explain in front of the children, and even stopping them feels somewhat powerless.
The children took it as just a polite remark.
"Alright, let's split up immediately!" Genta, who always considered himself the leader of the Junior Detective Club, shouted first, as if issuing an order to proceed.
Mitsuhiko, who served as the strategist, added: "We communicate with each other using the Detective Club badges, and we go to meet up once we find the target."
"Brother Yuanshan doesn't want Auntie to know he cares about her, so we'll just observe her secretly and not attract attention."
The thoughtful Ayumi also pays attention to details.
Before anyone else could speak, the three of them had already scattered.
"Hey, wait a minute!..."
Even with her high combat prowess, Yoruichi Toyama found it quite difficult to catch three mythical beasts that had scattered in different directions.
They had no choice but to turn to Conan, who was at least more composed.
"Call them back right now!"
"That person isn't my mother; she's a very dangerous murderer!"
"Hmm?" Conan immediately became serious, clearly having taken his words to heart. "What exactly happened?"
Amuro Tooru grabbed Yoruichi Toyama and explained the situation in a few words, finally saying, "Even if I mobilize the Public Security Police, I can't guarantee Ms. Shiho's safety, but if it's a child, the other party probably won't be on guard..."
"So you're sending kids on adventures?" Yoruichi Toyama retorted angrily, then turned to Conan.
However, before he could speak, Conan nodded: "I understand. I'll go with them to look for it, and contact them immediately if we find the target."
"Kudo!"
Yoruichi Toyama cried out and was about to reach out to grab Conan when she caught a glimpse of a dark figure out of the corner of her eye.
His mastery of martial arts allowed him to react instantly, pivoting on his heel to dodge the punch.
When their eyes met, both of them became somewhat stiff.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Conan had already run away.
With a "slap," Amuro Tooru still slapped him back.
Yoruichi Toyama didn't dodge this time, letting the other person lightly hit her shoulder.
"Yoruichi!" A pair of hands rushed up and supported him. "Are you alright?"
Akemi Miyano's voice calmed their feverish minds.
"You..." Amuro Tooru muttered apologetically, "Have you thought this through?"
Yoruichi Toyama shook her head.
“I have thought this through very clearly, but it seems to differ from Mr. Gong’s thinking.”
He certainly knew why Amuro Tooru wanted to use the Detective Boys.
In that situation, it was a very clever choice.
Otherwise, they would have been forced to watch helplessly as Takato and Shiho disappeared into the crowd.
but……
Seeing his hesitation, Amuro Tooru was about to say something more when his phone rang.
"Mr. Amuro, I'm with Ayumi right now," Conan's voice came through the microphone. "Genta and Mitsuhiko have gone in different directions. We'll keep in touch."
"Please, be careful." Amuro Tooru replied kindly, glancing at Toyama Yoruichi before adding another sentence.
