Chapter 85 A Lack of Martial Morality

Eri Kisaki's words, honed through years of experience in the courtroom, were powerful and resounding.

It was like a series of heavy punches that knocked Inspector Nakamori down, followed by a series of slams.

Eighty, eighty, eighty...

Even the tea tree manager was dumbfounded, and belatedly realized that he was probably not immune to the consequences either.

As Eri Kisaki said, Inspector Nakamori is so familiar with Kaito Kuroba, who knows how much information he has leaked to Kaito Kid in the past?

If it's his own subordinates who leaked the secrets and even colluded with Phantom Thief Kid, does he think he'll get away with it?

As the manager thought about it, he moved even further away from Inspector Nakamori.

Seeing that the other party had lost the ability to resist, Akechi grabbed Yoruichi Toyama's arm.

"Senior Fei, let's take the person away first."

"Yuanshan had a tough night."

"No, not really..." Yoruichi Toyama smiled, but as soon as he took a step forward, his legs went weak.

"Um... my leg is numb..."

Faced with this blatant act of provocation, neither Chaki, the manager, nor Inspector Nakamori dared to utter a word.

He watched helplessly as Akechi dragged Yoruichi Toyama away with a look of disgust on his face.

But as soon as I stepped out, a figure blocked my way.

"Manager Akechi, Manager Matsumoto?" The visitor was somewhat surprised, but greeted him in a very friendly tone.

"What brings you two to our Third Class?"

"Section Chief Hirata!" The two recognized the person at the same time; it was Hirata, the section chief of the Third Investigation Division, whom they had been searching for for a long time.

Out of politeness, I stood at attention and saluted.

But Hirata didn't seem to dare to be negligent either.

"This must be Mr. Toyama?" He didn't even ask his two subordinates, but looked directly at Yoruichi Toyama with a harmless smile.

"I have already heard that this incident was made possible by Mr. Toyama's great assistance, and I came here specifically to express my gratitude in person."

"Would Section Chief Hirata's way of expressing his gratitude be to detain the person for another 12 hours, 24 hours, or even longer?"

Mingzhi said in a sarcastic tone.

Section Chief Hirata was completely relaxed, chuckling and waving his hand.

But when he turned to his two subordinates, his face suddenly turned frosty.

"Chaki, from now on, you will be in full charge of the investigation headquarters for the Kaito Kid case and will be fully responsible to Nakajima. You must provide him with your full support."

"Nakamori is stripped of all his authority in the investigation headquarters and suspended from his duties pending investigation."

These two orders were like two thunderbolts, instantly turning the unfortunate duo in front of them into a bloody mess.

Upon hearing this, Eri and the others' expressions softened.

Section Chief Hirata turned back around, his face beaming with a warm smile once more.

“Well then, Mr. Toyama, let me see you out.”

As the numbness in her legs gradually disappeared, Yoruichi Toyama, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over her, tried her best to suppress a yawn and the aches and pains that spread throughout her body.

"Section Chief Hirata, right?" He looked intently at the Section Chief of Section 3, who was inexplicably somewhat obsequious, and made his request, "I would like to see Kuroba-kun. I have a few words I would like to say to him."

...

Having no choice but to personally escort Yoruichi Toyama to Kaito Kuroba's interrogation room, and then being gestured to leave, the manager, Chaki, who had to leave the room, cautiously returned to Section Chief Hirata's side.

Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of Nakamori standing blankly at the door of that empty room, and a bad feeling welled up inside her.

"Section Chief, Nakamori, he..."

“There’s nothing to explain,” Section Chief Hirata said directly without even lowering his voice. “He knows Kaito Kuroba, and he hasn’t accomplished anything in a long time.”

“From any perspective, censorship is necessary, and it is actually for his own good.”

The tea plantation manager had no choice but to shrink back and agree.

I understand the logic, but who doesn't know this kind of thing?

Even if there are outsiders present, can't you just give them a verbal reprimand? Why do you have to be so formal?

Having apparently read his expression, Section Chief Hirata coughed and took a few steps toward the end of the corridor.

Akechi, Eri, and the others did not interfere and remained standing outside the interrogation room.

"Do you know where I just went?" This was the first question Section Chief Hirata asked in their private conversation.

Eri and the others waited outside his office for a long time, but no one came. Manager Chaki was also aware of this.

So he shook his head and waited for his superior to continue.

"Chief Yukita of the First Investigation Division reported me to the head of the Criminal Investigation Department, and Chief Odagiri summoned me and gave me a severe scolding."

The tea plantation manager was momentarily stunned.

In my memory, this boss was a person who cared a lot about his image, but today he was being humble and subservient to a young detective, and even brought up the story of his defeat.

That's outrageous.

However, as he continued talking, he understood the reason.

"Later, Gyoda told me that he went to find Department Head Odagiri, but he couldn't find him immediately."

"I heard that right after starting work this morning, Superintendent General Hakuba summoned Chief Odagiri and gave him an even harsher scolding!"

I see!

Anyway, I wasn't the only one being scolded; even the Minister of Criminal Investigation was scolded. What am I compared to that?

While trying to find a balance, the image of that somewhat pretentious young man came to mind.

"That young man on the white horse..."

Section Chief Hirata nodded, then shook his head.

"Because the White Horse Prince was at the scene, and he reported the whole incident to Superintendent White Horse."
