Chapter 95 Marauder's Map and Invisibility Cloak

Workplace bullying is something that's often talked about, but finding evidence to take legal action, especially in a rigidly class-based society like Japan, is incredibly difficult.

Almost everyone takes it for granted that it is normal for seniors to teach juniors a lesson, superiors to teach subordinates a lesson, and even men to teach women a lesson; daring to fight back is considered extremely rebellious.

This society disciplines ordinary people who have no power or influence into being extremely docile and submissive, yet it doesn't give them a way to survive.

Kanna Yuzuki, that girl who was blossoming like a flower, withered away under such heavy pressure and exploitation.

But no one could stand up for her.

"...What happened?" Akechi's voice interrupted Yoruichi Toyama's thoughts, sounding somewhat disappointed. "It's as if you already knew this would happen."

Yoruichi Toyama took a deep breath.

"The incidents that Gao Yuan plans are basically all revenge killings, right?"

"So, you discovered someone's connection to that Miss Yuzuki and believe he wants to kill Yamanami Keisuke?"

Sure enough, when in doubt, just shifting the blame to Gao Yuan is the right thing to do.

Without a doubt, Akechi agreed: "Yes, the answer is obvious, because Miss Yuzuki's parents also know that her boyfriend, or fiancé, whom she has been dating for nearly ten years, is Nagakura Shinpachi."

"Yuanshan, I'm leaving the rest to you."

"Keep an eye on Nagakura Shinpachi. Under no circumstances can we let him kill anyone!"

"I'll bring men to meet you!"

The uniqueness of the name Yamanami Keisuke, Nagakura Shinpachi's prompt response when summoned by the police, and the fact that the two have always acted together all corroborate the information we just found.

Ling Mingzhi was absolutely convinced of his reasoning.

His voice already contained an unwavering belief in victory.

"Don't worry," Yoruichi Toyama replied in the same tone, "I will absolutely never let murder happen again."

...

Following Yamanami Keisuke and Nagakura Shinpachi, there were also Toyama Yoruichi, and Kindaichi and Miyuki's two groups.

But not long after, just as the Inokashira Line heading towards Shibuya reached its end, Kindaichi's voice came through the earpiece.

"Yuanshan, are you still in the car?"

"No, I've gotten off the bus," Yoruichi Toyama replied as she had Taro set up Keisuke Yamanami's location.

Kindaichi immediately let out a sound of annoyance.

"What's going on? Nagakura Shinpachi should still be on the train, planning to go back!"

"I suspect the ransom is in his hands; what if he's the kidnappers' target..."

"Where are you now?" Yoruichi Toyama interrupted him abruptly.

"Miyuki and I got off the train on the platform at the station."

"Don't move from there, I'm coming to find you." Yoruichi Toyama said, and then ran off.

According to Taro's location, Keisuke Yamanami has already gotten off the platform and is standing in front of the lockers outside the ticket gate.

Presumably, they followed the instructions on their phone to deposit the ransom money from their wallets.

By the time Yoruichi Toyama and Kindaichi met up, he was already walking out of the station and about to merge into the streets of Shibuya.

"How could you... Nagakura..." Kindaichi was clearly getting anxious.

"Just now, Yamanami Keisuke walked right up to me, showed me instructions on his phone, and said that I had been discovered following him. He told me to get off the train immediately and not to move on the platform."

"We have no choice but to wait here to avoid arousing his suspicion, but Nagakura is still in the car..."

"No, Nagakura got off too." Yoruichi Toyama looked around at the dazzling passageway structure of Shibuya Station on the Inokashira Line, but couldn't see any figure wearing a sky-blue haori.

He should have changed his clothes by now...

He put on his invisibility cloak...

"What?" Kindaichi exclaimed in surprise. "You just saw it?"

"No, but..."

Yoruichi Toyama briefly explained the results of Akechi's investigation.

"If he were to commit murder, he would obviously have chosen to get off the train at Yamanami Keisuke's place, and it was believed that the best time would have been while he was still on the train."

"But... but where can we find them? Yamanami Keisuke should have already left the station."

Yoruichi Toyama chuckled.

"Even though there are many pedestrians on the streets of Shibuya, it's still quite noticeable to find someone dressed in Shinsengumi cosplay attire, right?"

"We'll see..."

He untied the raincoat that had been tightly fastened, and a black cat's head immediately popped out.

It even meowed once.

"We also have Marauder's Map."
