Chapter 253 How to Find People

Daniel has always believed that finding the right people is an art.

He considers himself a master of this art.

Aside from Merlin, Daniel has never failed; the only difference is the timing—the timing of finding the target.

Daniel always regretted not being born in the 18th century, because then he would have had the chance to go toe-to-toe with Jack the Ripper.

Instead of living in the technologically advanced modern world, where every case leaves countless clues and offers no challenge whatsoever.

Daniel thought this time would be no exception.

“Daniel, according to information from Vodafone, the other party’s number was briefly seen in Brixton, Lambeth District.”

Daniel mentally reviewed Brixton's information and thought to himself, "This is bad."

London is a large city, with more than thirty administrative districts.

Although most people only distinguish between East London and West London, this is because East London is a newly developed area with abundant industries and a large influx of new residents.

West London is England's long-established affluent area, home to places like the King's Palace, the Prime Minister's residence, and Parliament.

Meanwhile, the famous Chelsea team is located in West London.

In fact, London is divided into North London and South London. North London has Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, while South London has Crystal Palace.

London is actually divided into thirty-two administrative districts.

Daniel quickly retrieved the relevant information about Brixton from his mind; the place was specifically located in Lambeth, South London.

South London is home to a large number of ordinary residents, while Brixton, the last stop on the Victory Line, is very chaotic, surrounded by a large number of black residents, and is a mixed community.

Brixton is a notoriously dangerous area in London, and most Chinese students generally agree not to go there at night, or even avoid it altogether.

At the same time, due to financial constraints, there are almost no security cameras in this area.

“The other party most likely doesn’t live in the Brixton area. We can now start making some simple sketches of this Mr. X,” Daniel instructed.

Mr. X is the nickname they gave to the magician who appeared on Facebook.

A colleague living in the Brixton area said, "Daniel, you're biased against Brixton."

That place is much safer now than before, and many emerging middle-class people are buying houses in Brixton.

Some areas over there are even better than certain areas of Chelsea.

Chelsea is a long-established affluent neighborhood.

However, the distinction between rich and poor areas in London is not so absolute.

Or rather, it's unlikely that an entire administrative region consists entirely of either wealthy or poor people.

There can be very obvious and strong differences within the same administrative region.

Daniel hadn't been to Brixton for many years, and his reaction was based on his limited memory.

However, he could not admit that he was being regionally discriminatory: "I don't know enough about Brixton."

However, based on my understanding of Mr. X, the fact that his cell phone signal appeared in Brixton was clearly a smokescreen, designed to mislead us.

A colleague countered, "Why not think in reverse? Let us assume he's not in Brixton, but he actually is?"

Daniel realized that continuing the discussion would be an endless spiral, leading nowhere, so he changed the subject:

"His exact location is not important; it's even possible he's no longer in London."

For example, they've already gone to Manchester or Nottingham.

But these things aren't important; they're just for reference. What's more important is to confirm his identity first. Once his identity is confirmed, finding him will be much faster.

After it was confirmed that the video on Facebook was unedited and without props, England briefly locked down its transportation with the outside world.

However, such a blockade is unsustainable and very ineffective.

There aren't enough manpower to close the border. If you really want to leave, there are definitely ways to go through Northern Ireland or Scotland.

Therefore, as time goes by, it will become increasingly difficult to find people.

Based on Daniel's understanding of the English, he didn't believe that anyone who acquired superpowers like magic would be willing to cooperate with the government.

"The other party clearly realized that we could determine their location through SMS signal exchanges. In addition, the other party would use jump servers and anonymous networks, which is definitely not a technology that ordinary people can master."

A certain level of information security knowledge is required as a background.

"The problem is that there are countless people with similar backgrounds in London, so there's no way to confirm his true identity based on that alone."

What we need to do first is to locate his personal information via the internet.

London boasts abundant educational resources and a large number of internet companies.

Major companies such as Facebook, Google, Apple, Amazon, and Twitter all have offices in London.

This does not include small and medium-sized internet companies in London.

One of the most important reasons why Europe has not produced internet giants is the lack of a unified language.

Therefore, even if you have good ideas, they are easily confined to your own country and it is difficult to extend them abroad.

To give a typical example, there is Opera. Founded in Norway in 1995, Opera is an excellent browser product.

It boasts powerful technology and ease of use, yet it has remained relatively unknown.

Many internet companies in Europe have a similar problem: they focus on technology while neglecting marketing.

Daniel asked directly, "Can we get technical support from Facebook?"
