Especially after the clinical data on endorphins came out, they were able to completely overtake morphine-like drugs.
No one would be so generous as to give up such a large benefit.
Later, Wang Jinsong joined Kechuang Biotechnology, and not long after he joined, Zheng Li went to Singapore.
However, every time he had a remote video conference, Zheng Li's views and ideas about small molecule drugs would give him a sudden sense of enlightenment.
"Chairman Zheng, we plan to use a dual-fluorescence cell cycle reporter system to label the mitotic s-g2-m phase of cells and then display cytoplasmic division."
In addition, a high-throughput screening system was constructed, and 13 small molecules that can effectively induce cardiomyocytes to enter the cell cycle were screened from a chemical small molecule library.
Apart from mct1 inhibitors, other individual small molecules cannot induce cardiomyocyte cytokinesis.
"You can try combining small molecules in pairs or in larger combinations to verify the efficacy."
Also, remember to build a mathematical model to predict the optimal combination of small molecules for promoting proliferation. I'll send you a mathematical model I built earlier later; you can refer to my design approach.
Wang Jinsong and his team mainly plan to develop small molecule drugs for cardiovascular diseases.
Later, following Zheng Li's line of thought, Wang Jinsong and his team verified through in vitro and in vivo experiments that the small molecule combination 5SM, composed of phenylephrine hydrochloride, baricitinib, dehydrocamellia alkaloid, PTE inhibitor, and MCT1 inhibitor, could successfully induce adult mouse and human cardiomyocytes to re-enter the cell cycle and undergo cytokinesis.
In other words, it can promote heart regeneration and treat myocardial infarction.
(The above research ideas come from a paper published by the College of Chemistry and Molecular Biology of Yenching University in a Cell sub-journal this April:)
"a small-molecule cocktail promotes mammalian cardiomyocyte proliferation and heartregeneration")
They then established a mouse model of myocardial infarction and found that 5sm could significantly improve cardiac function and reduce the area of cardiac fibrosis in adult mice after myocardial infarction.
Wang Jinsong and his team discovered that 5sm induces quiescent cardiomyocytes to enter a dedifferentiation state, followed by a proliferative state.
5sm promotes the conversion of cardiomyocyte metabolism from oxidative phosphorylation to glycolysis by activating lactate signaling and the mtor pathway, ultimately inducing cardiomyocyte proliferation and division.
Zheng Li's understanding of small molecule drugs is even better than his.
This made Wang Jinsong question the meaning of life.
It's worth noting that he studied biology from his undergraduate years to his postdoctoral studies, a total of seventeen years. He then worked at Merck for another eight years, spending over twenty years of his life on small molecule drug development.
But the facts are clear: Zheng Li can think of what he can think of, and he can also think of what Zheng Li can't think of.
Whether someone is truly brilliant or just pretending in the field of scientific research can be determined through communication and conversation.
Data in academic papers can be fabricated, and authors can find ways to plagiarize or produce low-quality papers, but there are no shortcuts when it comes to communication and exchange.
"Mr. Li, the clinical trial protocol for this drug has been submitted to Chairman Zheng, and Chairman Zheng has approved it. Now we need your help to review and approve the budget proposal."
When Wang Jinsong was reporting to Li Miaomiao, he said that one could usually tell how close or distant their relationship was by how they addressed Li Miaomiao.
Middle and senior managers who are close to Li Miaomiao usually call her "General Manager Miaomiao," while those who are less close call her "General Manager Li."
Wang Jinsong was actually recruited by Cheng Gang, but he didn't leave because the project wasn't completed and the company tried to retain him.
But in reality, his position is rather awkward.
Li Miaomiao replied, "Okay, put the file there, I'll look at it later. Also, forward me a copy of Zheng Li's reply to you."
Zheng Li made all the decisions regarding internal R&D matters at Kechuang Biotechnology, while Li Miaomiao was responsible for all other tasks, including finance, human resources, sales, and manufacturing.
Of course, Li Miaomiao would also delegate work to other senior executives, but she mainly focused on human resources and finance.
As long as a company has no problems with its people and money, it can maintain a relatively healthy state.
Of course, the fact that Zheng Li is in charge here is only from the outsider's perspective; in reality, Zheng Li has handed over most of the work to artificial intelligence.
Only for a few tasks that artificial intelligence cannot make decisions will Zheng Li personally make the judgment.
"Okay, Mr. Li, our innovative drug R&D department has an overall report meeting next Monday. Minister Wu asked me to invite you to attend. Are you free from 9:30 to 11:00 AM next Monday?"
Li Miaomiao: "Send me your schedule through the internal OA system. If I'm free tomorrow, I'll confirm it before Monday."
Every time Wang Jinsong reported his work to Li Miaomiao, one sentence would always flash through his mind: Choice is more important than effort.
Having worked in the corporate world for so many years, Wang Jinsong knows he has to accept these things. The world is inherently unfair, and has never been fair. Luck is also a kind of ability.
......
“There have been quite a few unusual events in London recently, so we need to intensify our search efforts.”
"This is not a matter of the intensity of the search, but rather that when everyone can learn magic, our management methods need to change."
Furthermore, the anomalies in London are currently remaining at the triple digits level. If they rise any higher, the anomalies in London will no longer be able to be concealed.
