As the successor to the Harry Potter universe, Warner Bros. undoubtedly has high expectations for the Fantastic Beasts series.
It's important to know that anyone who uses the Harry Potter universe has to pay Rowling a hefty fee.
Although the title contains "Fantastic Beasts," the second book onwards, aside from the first, primarily focuses on the magical world during Grindelwald's time.
The romantic subplot between Grindelwald and Dumbledore has become a major draw for female viewers.
This is also one of England's specialties; the British are no joke.
In the third film, Grindelwald even bluntly tells Dumbledore: "Who else but me would love you?"
This became a rare highlight of the film.
However, this is clearly unacceptable to those who are averse to such events.
Not to mention the Fantastic Beasts series, Zheng Li hasn't even seen the Harry Potter series of movies.
When Grindelwald and Dumbledore's love scenes appeared at Universal Studios, screams and gasps erupted from the crowd.
Zheng Li wasn't surprised by this; the Mage Alliance had no shortage of such people.
Zheng Li just couldn't understand why everyone was so excited to see such a scene.
He turned to look at Li Miaomiao, who didn't laugh out loud, but just smiled.
When Li Miaomiao saw Zheng Li looking at her, she turned her head and asked in a low voice, "What?"
"Isn't that exciting?"
Zheng Li replied in a low voice, "No."
"I just think everyone's reaction was a bit excessive."
Li Miaomiao: "It's normal. This is official sweet talk. I'll tell you about it when we go out."
After the movie ended, Zheng Li and Li Miaomiao waited until the staff finished announcing the end of the credits before walking out of the cinema.
It was too crowded right after it ended.
"How is it?" Li Miaomiao asked.
This was a completely new experience for Zheng Li; it was the first time he had ever experienced this kind of entertainment from the people of Earth.
The Mage Alliance has achieved virtual reality, and the realism and immersion of virtual reality far surpass that of movies.
Therefore, movies are a form of entertainment that never existed in the Mage Alliance.
But Zheng Li didn't find it novel, because it was just a long video on a bigger screen.
"It's a bit strange, but the magical creatures inside are quite interesting."
"But the magic inside just seems to consist of light beams shooting back and forth."
"Apart from the final battle with the phoenix, the lighting effects were quite good."
"And another point is that shouldn't those who possess magic have an advantage over ordinary people, that is, Muggles?"
Why is it that in movies, wizards' technology is more backward than that of ordinary people?
Li Miaomiao smiled and said, "After all, it's a film and television work aimed at teenagers, so the setting won't and doesn't need to be too perfect."
"With only 30,000 to 50,000 wizards, how could a wizarding society possibly develop technology more rapidly than England, which has a population of over 50 million?"
"Fantastic Beasts was just a deceptive marketing ploy by Warner Bros."
"Calling it a magical creature is a misnomer; it would be better to rename it the feud between Dumbledore and Grindelwald."
As a seasoned Harry Potter fan, Li Miaomiao could readily recall the contents of the book:
"Moreover, the Fantastic Beasts series already takes a certain degree of rationality into account."
"The author felt he couldn't come up with any more magic, so he simply stopped. Magic power determines everything, and at most he added Apparition."
"You think magic will be transformed into different forms by mages over time."
Zheng Li agreed, saying that magic, like technology, changes over time.
It's not necessarily evolution; it could also be degeneration, but it's clearly not static.
Li Miaomiao continued, "The Harry Potter series and the Fantastic Beasts series are separated by a full fifty years."
"Therefore, magic will obviously have many changes. The screenwriter felt that he could not apply the magic in Harry Potter to the wizarding world fifty years ago, and he himself could not come up with more reasonable magic."
"So it's just a basic magic contest."
"The final battle scene between the Patronus is clearly a tribute to Merlin."
At the end of Fantastic Beasts 4, during the battle between Grindelwald and Dumbledore, both used a similar technique to the Patronus, summoning a flock of phoenixes to fight.
The silver and green phoenixes collided wildly between the two, scattering into countless silver specks in the air.
The movie includes Grindelwald's memories, in which he receives Merlin's legacy and then shares it with Dumbledore.
Merlin felt that this magic was too powerful, so he simplified it into the Guardian Spell that became known in later generations.
The original Merlin created a Guardian Charm that combines offense and defense.
Merlin also makes a brief but memorable appearance in the movie.
Warner Bros. knew that Merlin was merely using William's body at the time, and that William was just a puppet in the public eye.
Therefore, when casting, Warner Bros. specifically instructed that no actor resembling William should be chosen, and instead selected an actor with the appearance of a traditional D&D wizard to play Merlin.
They knew absolutely nothing about Merlin's gender, race, or age.
Warner was also troubled, as they could only follow the principle of not making mistakes in this area.
In addition, Merlin in Fantastic Beasts 4 mainly exists in the narratives of Grindelwald and Dumbledore.
Zheng Li: "Actually, it's normal. I've seen videos of Merlin's performances where he just waves his hand casually, and the enemies fall to the ground."
Looking at the crowd around her and the brightly lit surroundings, and then at Zheng Li beside her, Li Miaomiao felt genuinely happy.
"Warner Bros. is clearly trying to curry favor with Merlin, praising him in every way."
