Chapter 294 Enlightenment

Two streaks of light flashed across the cloudless sky.

Then they revealed themselves in the sky; it was none other than Su Chen and Jian Yan.

After being thoroughly taught a lesson by the Taixu Cauldron, although the two still disliked each other, they refrained from resorting to violence at the slightest provocation.

Even after they recovered somewhat, the two were able to fly back to the capital one after the other without incident.

This is undoubtedly a very gratifying sign for the Taixu Cauldron.

"Sword Words!"

They could see clearly who the two figures that suddenly appeared in the sky were.

Shen Yanyan's previous resentment vanished instantly, and she shouted loudly as she waved at Jian Yan.

Three hours ago, the other party suddenly disappeared, which worried her terribly.

Seeing that Jianyan was unharmed, she had no desire to be angry at him for prioritizing women over friends.

The two landed slowly on the roof of the building.

Just as Jianyan and Shen Yanyan were exchanging a few words,

Ding Yao also pulled Su Chen along, and then kept groping him all over.

Indeed, even though Su Chen had changed into new clothes, the wounds on his body caused by the sword energy were not so easy to heal.

On the way back to the capital, his new clothes were soaked with blood from his wounds.

"Su Chen, what's wrong with you!"

Does it hurt?

Who on earth hurt you like this!

Gently remove Su Chen's clothes and look at the large and small wounds on his body.

Ding Yao's eyes reddened.

She couldn't understand what kind of beast could be so cruel.

The bloody scene horrified her.

If it had occurred to a mortal, it would probably be dead by now.

He patted Ding Yao's head and repeatedly told her that he was fine. Su Chen didn't tell her that the beast who had injured him was not far away.

Because it's meaningless. Ding Yao is just an ordinary girl after all. Although she has learned some things from him, she is still just like a mortal to Jian Yan.

Telling her would only make her worry.

"Let's go, I'll take you home."

Su Chen said with a smile, and then spread out fiery red wings behind him.

But Ding Yao hesitated for a moment and asked, "Is everything resolved? Where is she? She doesn't seem to be with you."

Did something happen to her too?

Why don't you go find her first?

I'm fine, I can take the elevator down by myself.

I've been waiting for you, otherwise I would have gone down long ago.

I'll just book my own flight back to H city then.

Ding Yao spoke with utmost seriousness; she wasn't joking.

This made Su Chen feel very uncomfortable. He had brought the other person to the capital, but after arriving at their destination, he simply abandoned them.

They even made the other party stand on the rooftop in the wind and sun for several hours.

However, he barely thought about the other person at all from beginning to end.

I've really been a rather incompetent older brother.

He gently touched Ding Yao's face again. Perhaps because she had money now and didn't have to worry about making a living, she no longer went out to sea to fish.

The other person's originally wheat-colored skin had also become much fairer.

"It's alright, your sister-in-law's matter is not important, I'll take you home first."

And Ding Yao, I promise you, I won't leave you behind again next time.

You don't need to worry about affecting me in any way.

Because in my heart, you are just as important to me as Wan'er!

Su Chen's words made Ding Yao's eyes redden instantly, and she couldn't hold back any longer, so she threw herself into his arms.

Then she rested her head against his chest and cried softly.

Before long, tears soaked Su Chen's clothes.

Ding Yao cried with grievance, sobbing as she said, "Su Chen... I thought... I thought you never wanted me again!"

Don't leave me again!

I'm so afraid that you'll cut ties with me now that you've found Sister Wan'er.

I don't want to be an obstacle between you and Sister Wan'er, but I also don't want to become a stranger to you.

So could you tell Sister Wan'er not to worry about me? I won't be a burden to you.

I can swear that I will never interfere in your relationship!

I only want to be your sister forever, and I only want to have you as my brother forever!

Perhaps because she had been suppressing her feelings for too long, Ding Yao finally couldn't hold back after confirming that Su Chen still valued her.

No longer hiding her thoughts, she directly cried and poured out her heart to Su Chen.

This made the latter feel even more guilty.

I even felt sorry for the girl.

He understood that what he had done before had inevitably hurt Ding Yao.

But she remained well-behaved and sensible throughout, never showing it.

Perhaps, as she said, she really didn't want to become a burden to herself.

What she wanted was actually very simple and pure.

She just didn't want to leave him.

Gently patting Ding Yao's back, Su Chen softly comforted her, "Don't think too much. I'll always be your brother."

It was true before, and it will be true in the future; no one can change that.

Okay, stop being sad. Crying is ugly.

As the crying subsided, Ding Yao asked, her voice trembling slightly, "Really...really?"

"Of course, take a look for yourself, isn't it ugly?" With that, Su Chen waved his hand, and a wisp of water vapor transformed into a mirror.

But this made Ding Yao burst into laughter through her tears. She then pinched his waist hard and said coquettishly, "I meant the thing about you saying you'll always be my brother!"
