"Your Excellency, the magic crystals have been fed to the Blood Nest. Shall we proceed with the next step of the plan?"
In the candlelit hall, Kyle knelt on one knee, his battle armor, covered in blood patterns, stained with murky blood.
His restrained yet sharp gaze concealed a hint of displeasure.
"No rush, it's just one step away from being ready."
The old man sitting in the palace wore a dark gold robe, and his wrinkled face was covered with black spots, exuding an aura of decay.
His grayish-white hair was messy, his eyes were sunken, and he had dark circles under his eyes, as if he hadn't slept for days and nights.
No one could have imagined that this frail and aged old man was actually Nord James, the true bishop who ruled the divine court in Titan City.
“But, Your Excellency, if we do not act quickly, the Tulip and Gubang families will become suspicious, which will affect the grand plan of our Divine Court.”
Kyle warned, his eyes narrowing slightly, his keen senses stealthily creeping in, but stopping when he got within three meters of Nord.
This scene made him slightly wary; the other party still had strength to spare, and a vast spirit was contained within their aging body.
"There's no need to rush. Akaman can take this opportunity to subdue the wild forces in Bizhu City. Then we can conceal it and deceive the two major families. They are nothing to fear."
Nord analyzed, looking tired, and closed his eyes to rest.
In the darkness, a pair of dark gray eyes suddenly opened, like an ancient pool, staring at Nord.
"But Bishop, the teleportation array for the interdimensional battlefield hasn't been activated yet. Has something happened there...?"
Kyle then asked, "A sequence of divine trees is cultivated there, a fact well-known to the higher echelons of the Divine Court."
Back then, his mental world was shattered by the self-destructing tree, his potential could not be activated, and his combat power plummeted to the bottom of the ranks. Although he concealed it, the bishop entrusted the mission of the interdimensional battlefield to Brian alone.
He vaguely suspected that Brian couldn't resist the temptation and refined the Sequence Tree. With the addition of the Ninefold Potential Aura, his foundation, apart from the unknown bishop, was the strongest in the Divine Court.
In fact, when he steps out of the teleportation array, he will have already embarked on the golden path, at which point the ruler of the Divine Court will have to be replaced.
Therefore, he didn't mind smearing Brian and giving the bishop a heads-up.
“Brian is the chief knight of our Divine Court. His loyalty is beyond question, and he would never betray us.”
"You may leave now."
The bishop still appeared listless. He waved his hand, signaling Kyle to step back.
"Farewell, Your Excellency."
Kyle was somewhat unwilling, but thinking of the authority the bishop had built up over decades, he gritted his teeth and got up to leave without hesitation.
"Bang!"
The palace doors were closed, and only then did Nord open his eyes, look in the direction Kyle had left, and shake his head.
The flickering candlelight and dancing flames infused Nord with a new life force, sustaining the energy expenditure of his bodily functions.
The torch, one of the unique treasures of the Divine Court, is no less valuable than the Awakening Potion.
He raised his cloudy eyes, his gaze tearing through the floor as it landed on the pool of blood where flesh and blood were intertwined.
Below, there was a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, including humans and beastmen, mostly women, children and the elderly, as well as some freshly dead children.
Flesh and blood writhed, and on the pool of blood nurtured a monster the size of a fleshy ball, shaped like a honeycomb, which had even evolved eyeballs. Hundreds of innocent and ignorant eyeballs, with whites like fish bellies, were slightly open, curiously observing their surroundings.
Blood Nest, a divine gift from our Lord.
Nord smiled slightly, his excitement causing even his withered and decaying exterior and gray bones to tremble.
Nord, a man who was already dead, was transformed by evil magic into a monster wearing human skin.
In fact, the source of his human skin was a high-ranking official of the Divine Court who had been carefully cultivated fifty years ago.
Sensing the ugliness of the human skin and the putrid smell it exuded, Nord lightly stepped on the floor, and the pure blood essence extracted from the young child was devoured by him.
Bathing in the blood and qi is like taking a sauna.
As blood and energy flowed in, the skin regained its luster, and Nord's eyes gradually regained some clarity.
“My great Lord, you are eternal and immortal in this world, and I am willing to be your most faithful servant…”
Nord praised that his ability to revive from slumber and crawl out of the filthy pile of sinful corpses was due to his faith in a demon god.
Demon God.
The supreme ruler of the Abyss Demon Realm, the master of the Demon King who wreaked havoc on the continent of Midland.
Behind Nord stood a demon god!
However, due to special circumstances, Nord could not become the Demon King, but instead served the Demon God as a servant.
Nord was sensible; he knew that the demon behind him had killed the God of Dreams, seized his authority, and created a large number of false gods.
With these powers, they arm the divine court, deceive the power of faith and the trust of living beings, and thus secretly create blood sacrifice rituals to please the demon gods.
Nord did have the idea of becoming the Demon King, but the requirements for becoming the Demon King were too high. After all, the Demon King was a top-level being that was defeated by the heroes of Valhalla!
If Nord becomes the Demon King, representing the will of the Demon God behind him, he will not need to refine the Sequence Tree, but will directly embark on the Golden Path, possessing extraordinary combat power and overwhelming demonic energy!
Unfortunately, Nord did not. He served the Demon God for over a hundred years, his footsteps traversing thousands of kilometers, and finally established the Dream Spirit Divine Court. He devoted himself to performing blood sacrifice rituals for the Demon God, and in the end, he finally gained a chance to advance to the Gold Rank.
The Golden Road
It's so difficult...
"boom!"
Suddenly, Nord paused, his aged and weak body stiffening for a moment.
A large portion of the brownish-yellow source of faith within him was suddenly lost.
That represents the talent of the Earth Knight Brian: [Source of Earth]!
"Brian!"
Nord was taken aback for a moment, then murmured something to himself.
He groomed Brian, controlling him with faith, just as he had fifty years ago, to obtain a new body.
“Brian is under my control, and I have planted a seed of loyalty in him. I don’t need to worry about his loyalty.”
"At the cost of my minor injuries and mental backlash, the spiritual seed was detonated, activating the talent of [Source of Earth]... What unexpected event happened on the otherworldly battlefield?"
Nord, having regained his energy, was thinking quickly. He hesitated for a moment, then his gaze returned to the blood nest, where a hundred corpses were devouring a dark purple magic crystal. Suddenly, they came to life, their eyes wide open, their flesh writhing, trying to crawl out of the blood pool.
The Blood Nest has devoured the magic crystal and will descend into chaos. If he leaves, the entire Titan City will become its prey, and his chance to embark on the Golden Road will fail.
"This is really tricky."
Nord quickly wrote a magical letter by hand and sent it to Kyle.
But he hesitated for a moment, and finally wrote another letter to Sister Mary.
