"Even if they are city management officers, they shouldn't be able to interfere with transactions."
Glady's face darkened. These believers in the false god Little Fox were actually city management officers.
Even though they are city management officials, there are indeed regulations in Titan City that prohibit violating the trading rules.
“We’ll take all of these slaves. How about 1,800 silver dollars?”
Jay waved to stop a group of ill-intentioned men and said calmly.
"Hehe, city management officer, my werewolf girl is worth three hundred silver coins. If you include the other werewolves, the price will be much more than that."
Glady smiled obsequiously, dissatisfied with the price. He had lost several men in the process of capturing this group of werewolves, and with the costs of transportation and sanitation, his expected target was two thousand silver coins.
"I only want this werewolf girl. My offer is three hundred and fifty silver coins!"
The tycoon once again entered the conversation, his face grim, and revealed his bargaining chips.
He was well aware that Gladys wanted to extract more profit from the conflict between him and the city management officers, further exploiting the value of the werewolf girl.
Out of consideration for his reputation, he fought the city management officers to the bitter end. He might not be able to afford to offend the little fox, but when it came to competing in wealth, it didn't mean he was afraid.
"Very well, the wealthy gentleman has offered a higher price. So, Captain Jay, what do you think?"
Upon hearing this, a hint of joy flashed in Gladys's eyes, but he still did not decide to sell it.
One option is to buy only the werewolf puppies, while the other is to buy them all. On the surface, it seems like they'll make a fortune later, but the greedy nature of the merchants allows Gladys to maintain the trading frenzy and seek even greater profit margins for himself.
"Hehe, two thousand one hundred and fifty silver shells. I'm warning you, this is the final limit."
Jay's face darkened, and Gladys could even sense a chilling killing intent emanating from him.
He knew that if he pushed Jay any further, the latter might frame him, and all the city management officers would swarm him, which would be a loss.
"Great, deal."
Glady agreed to Jay's price, and Jay touched his storage wristband, tossing out three large bags of silver shells, plus a dozen bags of bronze eagles.
No one could have imagined that Xiao Han, leading the Third Urban Management Brigade, would go on expeditions to the east and west, reselling surplus properties, furniture, and land deeds, accumulating a huge fortune, initially estimated at tens of thousands of silver coins, which could be converted into more than ten gold wolves!
After Xiao Han completed his mission, all funds were put into custody by Jay, giving him control over the economic lifeline of the Third Urban Management Brigade.
Even Jay had never seen so much money before; it almost completely baffled him.
"Wait, I still want that werewolf girl, I'll offer four hundred..."
"Bang!"
A long sword tore through the void, its back slamming into the tycoon's backside with tremendous force, sending him flying more than ten meters away!
George sheathed his knife, a look of disdain on his face: "You dare to say four hundred bronze eagles? You poor bastard!"
As for the guards protecting the wealthy, they were beaten down in a single encounter by city management officers who had ambushed them from the shadows.
"thump!"
The wealthy tycoon, who was flying in mid-air, suddenly felt like a kite with a broken string. His vision went black, and he crashed into a sewer under a construction sign, landing face-first.
"Squeak?"
The sewers were spotless, but the wealthy man who had fallen into the dirty water stood there. On the roadside, the hamster construction team, wearing safety helmets, looked completely bewildered.
Xiao Han raised the salary for cleaning sewers to sixty copper eagles a week, which led many members of the Hamster Engineering Team to accept the commission to clean the sewers of eight streets, and even the river water became a little clearer.
"Thump thump!"
Immediately afterwards, the guards who had been thrown down into the sewer were washed like dumplings being dropped into boiling water, and then floated down the river, following in Robinson Crusoe's footsteps.
"George is awesome!"
"George is awesome! Absolutely amazing!"
"So accurate! That's amazing!"
Receiving praise from his teammates, George swung his sword with a flourish before sheathing it.
"cut!"
Jerry the bear looked disdainful and annoyed.
Gladys: "..."
Are all the urban management officers here so arrogant and domineering?
Hey, can that guy who keeps waving the flag just shut up for a bit and let's talk this out?
Who exactly is this little fox that has managed to cultivate such a heartless and unscrupulous follower?
And it's unbelievable that this group of people seem to be living quite comfortably.
"Let us see you off. Welcome back to Titan City again."
At the city gate, the transaction was completed. After signing the slave contract, Jay had a kind expression on his face.
"No, dear friends, you're too kind. I'll definitely come to this street again next time."
Gladys chuckled, his lips twitching slightly.
At the registration desk, he inquired about the little fox and learned of a recent anecdote about a slave trader being robbed. This immediately made him wary of the little fox.
A ruthless figure whom even the higher-ups of Titan City couldn't handle, whose subordinates bullied others and acted as accomplices—he, a weak and helpless merchant, couldn't afford to offend him…
"Vice-captain, are we just going to watch him leave?"
Watching Gladys's laden figure disappear through the city gate, one of the city management officers couldn't contain himself and said...
As soon as he finished speaking, a dozen knights at the city gate, dressed in fine armor, all turned their gazes to the Third City Guard.
The old men at the registration desk were engrossed in processing documents, pretending not to hear the whispers of the Third Urban Management Brigade.
"What else can we do? Captain Little Fox isn't here, and a bunch of old guys at the city gate registration office are watching us. Let's not make a big fuss."
Jay calmly analyzed the situation, then led the group, carrying the slave contracts, to the werewolf's cage.
