Chapter 2 The Weak Knight

"Creak!"

Amidst everyone's "anticipation," the door to the mithril smelting facility at the end of the corridor was pushed open, and a knight clad in white armor walked in, followed closely by his attendants pushing ten carts of food, filled with a rather lavish meal of bread, sausages, and fruits.

The leading knight was mature and composed, and the sharp aura he exuded silenced everyone in the prison.

"Shut up, all of you."

The knight frowned slightly, and the knight's sword at his waist gleamed with a snow-white light. His body was engulfed in a burst of silver-white magical energy, carrying a sharp power that swept across the dimly lit corridor.

Immediately, the three people who had been trying to boost their activity level became as obedient as dogs, while the other inmates remained completely silent.

Silver-ranked Grand Knights are incredibly fierce. Once they reach the limits of human endurance, they can unleash sword energy that travels over ten meters with a single strike, making it easy for them to take on a hundred opponents.

"Hmph, a bunch of stinking sewer rats."

A mocking smile appeared on his helmet-covered face as he looked at the thugs imprisoned on both sides of the corridor, his eyes filled with disdain.

He elegantly adjusted a six-pointed star emblem on his right shoulder, clapped his hands, and signaled to the servants to bring the meal.

"Thank you, Lord Loki. Thank you so much to your whole family. May the God of Death bless your family with happiness, and may you all depart in harmony."

The skeleton-covered mage Saru picked up the bread, flames flickering in his eye sockets as he muttered something under his breath.

Hey, hey, that sounds like you're cursing someone's whole family to die, you bastard!

The attendant's face stiffened for a moment, then he glanced at the great knight not far away, and his lips twitched.

The one known as Loki is the second-in-command of the Gold Paladin, a Grand Knight at the Silver level.

In the nationwide cultivation of the Garan Empire, a silver-level cultivation level is already considered a strong level.

"Da da da..."

As the servants distributed the food, Loki walked unhurriedly down the corridor, under the watchful eyes of a group of people who looked at him with awe.

With each step he took, his magical energy increased slightly. After taking over a hundred steps, the armor with its magical runes began to condense into a terrifying and astonishing aura. Brilliant flames flashed and swirled around him, and his aura suddenly doubled, causing the approaching prisoners to tremble in fear.

In the corner, the mage Saru lay on a pile of dry grass, holding a black bread in his hands, his mouth moving as if making a disgusted "he-tui" sound.

Meanwhile, the Pirate King of the Caribbean was enjoying his three dishes and soup, his eyes glancing at the Grand Knight, whose caution piqued his interest.

After all, this new Lord Loki suffered a loss at the hands of that demon king on his very first day, and was humiliated in public.

As for the Behemoth, he was calmly chewing on a large piece of meat, with a cart full of bananas piled up beside him.

"Bang!"

With one step, Loki reached the end of the room, where a ray of bright sunlight streamed in. He looked up at the exquisitely decorated luxury private room before him.

Compared to the thatched-roof cells, this place is more like a private room. It has a spacious and comfortable space, exquisitely decorated furniture, clean and tidy floors, iron windows that let in sunlight, and even the outer iron bars are planted with rose vines that twine around and emit a fragrant aroma.

On that snow-white bed lay a languid figure.

Loki frowned slightly, pausing in front of the iron bars, his fingers resting on the hilt of his sword. Beneath his helmet, his sharp eyes were as keen as an eagle's, and a surge of powerful silver-white magical energy seemed ready to erupt at any moment.

This is the standard fighting stance a great knight adopts when encountering powerful prey.

Sensing an invisible killing intent, Xiao Han opened his eyes, a slight smile playing on his lips. He scratched his head, rolled out of bed, and slowly stood up, his long, jet-black hair covering most of his body and cascading down to his waist. His exposed skin was fair and smooth due to his special physique, and beneath the black hair on his forehead were handsome features and a pair of stunningly deep crimson eyes. He calmly looked at the heavily armed knight, his face blank.

For a weakling like him to deserve such respect from a great knight is truly an honor.

"Your Highness, you still look so energetic."

Loki said calmly, suppressing the restless thoughts in his heart, and focused all his attention on Xiao Han.

"Hmm, my friendliest weakling knight, you look quite spirited. May the Holy Lord of Light bless your whole family with happiness."

Xiao Han moved the corner of his mouth slightly, uttered the standard "Knock your mother" mouth shape, then put on a simple smile, suppressing the urge to beat the other person's face.

This fruit was unusually sour; my teeth and tongue went numb...

"It seems that it is quite good for His Highness the Demon King to stay here. Indeed, this place is better than the chaotic and disorderly wilderness."

Loki smiled, but secretly observed Xiao Han's expression. After a brief look, especially at Xiao Han's "pale and weak" expression, he smiled and lowered his guard, but still pressed his hand on the hilt of his sword.

His Highness the Demon King?

The thought of his current identity still leaves Xiao Han in a daze.

The Demon King, a symbol of darkness and evil, is the will of the Abyss Demon God on the continent of Midland. In contrast, there are usually gods or heroes on the side of justice. These beings are called heroes by the creatures of Midland.

The Demon King is ruthless and domineering (Xiao Han suspects there is some smearing involved), and his subordinates are even more arrogant and domineering. In the scriptures of the Divine Court, the Demon King is the embodiment of desire, a synonym for greed, slaughter, tyranny, and fear. This powerful creature that causes panic on the continent is often the target of warriors from various races, who attack him in groups.

Yes, that's right, it's all ethnic groups!

Faced with such a formidable foe, the various races tacitly formed an alliance: orcs, elves, dwarves, humans, dragons, and so on. Under the favor of the gods in Valhalla, a new era of heroes emerged, with heroes becoming as common as dogs. "Hero" was no longer a special title exclusive to humans; instead, it was an honorary title for challenging the Demon King.

Oh, by the way, the Golden Paladin in charge of the Kossenburg defense line was a ruthless warrior who brutally hacked the Ender Dragon (the Shadow Lord's mount) to pieces.

Therefore, with this mighty warrior who slayed a dragon in charge, escaping from prison is impossible, absolutely impossible in this lifetime. He's too weak from forced labor, so he can only helplessly live a life of luxury with plenty of food and clothing while being served by a group of knights.

"Your Highness prepared this for you personally; please be grateful."

After confirming that Xiao Han was in a weakened state, Loki handed him a package.

The latter hesitated for a moment, but finally reached out and took the package, feeling a warmth in his palm.

After Xiao Han accepted the box, Loki nodded and turned to leave.

However, in the instant he turned around, a hint of undisguised jealousy flashed in his eyes.

"Are you leaving already? Aren't you going to observe a little longer?"

Xiao Han watched Loki's departing figure, a slight smile curving his lips.

It has been some time since the last divine blessing ceremony. Once he recovers his strength, he will be drained dry again.

The so-called divinely bestowed ritual is actually the same as bloodletting, but it is nominally beautified by the priests, such as purifying the demon king's ferocity, etc. Who knows what evil research the gods are doing behind the scenes?
