Chapter 252 God's Favor (Part 4)

"What! The third-ranked mercenary group, the one who roams the wasteland, is actually the illegitimate son of the Tulip Clan Chief!"

"The elders have agreed to accept him? This...this is simply unbelievable!"

"It is indeed unbelievable, but it is said that his mother was a noble lady from Bizhu City. For some reason, after she became pregnant, she ran away from home and died shortly after giving birth to Lord Yin."

"That's a real shame. But what is Lord Yin's real name?"

"It seems to be Francis..."

“Francis? Isn’t that the name of a legendary knight in Norse mythology? Lord Yin, you have real guts.”

A magnificent golden palace, with a red carpet laid out along the way, stood out prominently among the dignitaries of Titan City. A distinguished guest, dressed in formal attire and behaving with impeccable manners, stood out from the crowd.

He moved among the many guests with ease, gaining the friendship of the powerful and wealthy, as well as the favor of a group of noble ladies.

If he wanted, he could spend that very night entwined with a wealthy heiress on a snow-white bed, having quite the romantic encounter.

This scene pleased the elder who was observing from the shadows.

His handsome appearance concealed a terrifying rank, and he himself set aside his arrogance and prejudice, possessing an elegant demeanor and refined speech, showing no trace of the mercenary group's crude and simplistic etiquette.

Compared to the current clan leader, this guy is clearly a qualified successor in terms of fundamentals.

On the throne sat a tall man with thick, dazzling blond hair and eagle-like, deep green eyes. He sipped a glass of red wine and stared at the protagonist of the banquet with a complex expression.

"You really are my son! That's wonderful!"

At the elder's prompting, he stood up, his expression excited: "Thank you, great Norse gods, for bringing my long-lost bloodline back to my side."

He patted Francis on the shoulder, opened his arms, and embraced him warmly.

"Did Rita send you to demand compensation from me? Answer me!"

In the shadows, behind the backs of the guests, he glanced at Francis indifferently, his contempt undisguised.

But the latter remained calm, a faint smile appearing on his face.

"It's just a sick lion."

Francis thought to himself, a glint of vengeance flashing in his eyes.

...

Fireworks soared into the sky, and endless thunder roared. For a fleeting moment, a flash of lightning illuminated the handsome face of a young man.

He calmly stared at the critically injured and dying old patriarch, the lightning patterns bursting from his heart allowing him to unleash a powerful burst of combat strength in one breath!

In an instant, he made a grasping motion with his hand, and a terrifying ripple appeared from the phantom of a broken bell, blasting his personal guards into pieces of flesh!

powerful!

Unparalleled power!

"No, you can't kill me! I'm your father! Half of my blood flows in your veins!"

To the old patriarch's astonishment, Francis raised a thunder spear, its destructive power no less than that of a thunder spear, piercing through his breastplate and penetrating his chest!

His heart was shattered by the spreading lightning. The old patriarch's eyes were glazed over. He wanted to say something last, to roar out the most vicious and despicable curse, but it was as if he was choking on his own words!

On the other side, the elegant and beautiful chieftain's wife was hanging naked on a tree, her snow-white body scratched by thorns, bleeding profusely.

What drove her even more insane was that this was a gathering place for savage gorillas, and it was mating season. Being thrown into the abyss and about to be ravaged by evil filled her with endless despair!

But unlike the fall of the old patriarch, Francis used his own strategies and strength to seize the throne of the Tulip Patriarch.

He looked up at the sky; the moon was still pale, but the stars were bright and dazzling. The fact that his revenge plan had gone so smoothly was perhaps a blessing from God.

God wouldn't be so kind.

What is he plotting to seize?!

...

"An envoy from the Southern Duchy?"

"Yes, Lord Watcher, they have requested that a church be built in Titan City."

The young guard bowed to Francis, groveling and concealing the awe in his eyes.

Francis frowned slightly and rose from the table and chair, but the attendant on the other side brought him a warning from the elders.

“A bunch of short-sighted, stubborn old guys, no need to pay them any mind.”

Francis thought to himself, but politely declined the elders' request.

Soon, he met the messenger, a bishop who called himself Nord, in a tea garden.

"God! Is the God you speak of the Goddess of Night?"

"Chief, I believe you also know that the gifts our Lord bestowed upon you were also God's will."

Nord smiled faintly, sipping his light tea, exuding a vibrant energy; even though he looked to be over forty, he was still full of vitality.

“Building a church is God’s plan.”

Francis thought to himself, pondering that indescribable god.

At this point, he murdered his blood father, seized the throne of the Tulip family, and with power in hand, God's intentions were finally exposed.

Even if for now, it's just about building a cathedral.

With his quick thinking, he swiftly grasped the key point and, reflecting on his smooth-sailing growth, who dares to say that there was no divine intervention?

He inquired about the name of the god worshipped by the Bishop of Nord, but the latter was vague and ambiguous, which made Francis wary.

"God is magnanimous; surely He wouldn't be so stingy as to leave us Titan City with just one church."

Francis smiled politely, neither agreeing nor refusing, but instead seeking some benefits from the Bishop of Nord.

The two exchanged a glance, outwardly drinking tea and chatting about the scenery they had passed through on their journey, but inwardly cursing each other as old foxes, wishing they could skin the other alive. (The river of time flows slowly, and twenty years later, Minnie, the weasel, Brian, a nobleman from a certain castle, and other people who were tricked by the little fox express their approval.)

...

"puff!"

In the cemetery, Francis, who was paying respects to his mother, clutched his left chest, his heart aching as if being stabbed, as if a creature had taken root inside him.

His body was surging with lightning, and the roaring lightning illuminated most of the newly built cemetery!

Behind his neck, out of his sight, a tentacle sprouted, crackling with electric light, quite frightening.

"Because I wasted time and didn't reply to the bishop, the power that God gave me backfired on me."

Francis gritted his teeth and pulled out a golden runic gem from his pocket. With the help of this sacred stone, his condition improved and he returned to normal.

A sharp glint flashed in his eyes.

Indeed, God cannot be trusted!

Fortunately, he obtained a sacred essence from the trade with the southern principality, which could make thunder tremble, as a backup plan to prevent God's backlash.

The rune gem contains a trace of divine essence, and once he obtains more divine essence, he will completely transform the divine gift into his own power.

Tools should be treated like tools!
