"General, Lord Ais has requested to lead the charge and has volunteered to be an officer in the third wave of the charge."
At this moment, a guard from the other side rushed over and conveyed the nobleman's message to the middle-aged general.
The cavalry were divided into several echelons. The first echelon was responsible for breaking the enemy's formation, while the second and third echelons were tasked with killing the enemy.
"So, without him in charge, my first batch of men wouldn't have been able to deal with such a disorganized pack of beasts?"
The general stared at the guard's face, his gaze falling on the young man who had emerged from the tent, and his lips twitched slightly.
The way he took advantage of the situation was so obvious; his skin was incredibly thick. No wonder he came from a noble family.
"Hiccup~"
The brown-haired man named Shapuis greeted the officers around him warmly, but it was obvious to anyone with eyes that he was disdainful.
Even the surface work is such a failure. How shameless do you have to come here to scramble for credit?
He let out a burp, his body reeking of strong alcohol, yet carrying an indescribable sense of oppression—ultimately, it was the title of "aristocrat" he bore.
His bulky figure swayed unsteadily, giving the impression of a torch ignited by alcohol, ready to provoke a fierce counterattack even at the slightest touch.
Perhaps it was the arrogant and domineering behavior of the nobles that made no one dare to look them in the eye. In the duchy, or rather, throughout Northern Europe, there was a strict class system. Even elite knights were not allowed to disobey, desecrate, or offend the powerful. This was something that had been deeply ingrained for thousands of years.
"A bunch of lowly rats dare to invade the territory of my Shapu family! They have no sense of mortality!"
He mounted the third batch of warhorses, his overweight body controlling the somewhat irritable horse, holding a long spear that almost slipped from his hand.
"charge!"
The general ignored the idiot nobleman, looked indifferently at the first group of knights, and uttered a cold snort.
The sound, mixed with surging blood energy, made the entire knight order seem to be injected with adrenaline. They raised their spears high, their magical runes fully activated, and they transformed into killing machines on the battlefield.
The Shapu family possesses an armored infantry and cavalry force that is the envy of all lords; this is the elite force that guards the wasteland!
Unlike the guards of a group of useless lords, the Shapu family possessed the privileges of the duchy, recruiting soldiers and, with the support of some nobles in the duchy, their actual armed forces had long exceeded the duchy's limits.
The enemy's wolf pack numbered only a little over a hundred, while this side had eight hundred elite infantry and cavalry. Anyone with a brain knows that in the end, the wolf pack would be wiped out.
"My most trusted warriors, raise your spears high! In the name of Arthas, the god of harvest, pierce the bodies of these beasts! Swear to serve the Shap family to the death!"
The roar of the first group of knight captains boosted the morale of the knights, filling them with passion.
Since they had already received the money, they needed to strengthen their ideological work to ensure the Earl's loyalty, but they should never talk about actual rewards or compensation.
Private armies, in a sense, are also slaves kept by lords.
"Awoo!"
In his field of vision, there were hundreds of wolves, but the number of his first batch of knights alone was equal to that of the wolves!
This scene filled him with inexplicable joy. Behind him, knights charged in an endless stream. The main purpose of the first batch of knights was to cut through the wolf pack, and then let the knights behind them sweep over and engulf the wolf pack like a tidal wave, pursuing them in victory!
But just when he thought victory was in his grasp, he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, and a dazzling light flashed in his pupils!
"boom!!"
A burst of flames erupted, and a streak of crimson light, like a thrown spear, swooped down from the sky, unleashing a deafening roar that swept outwards. The first group of knights were the first to suffer, being sent flying along with their warhorses, as well as the torn grass and dust on the ground, leaving only a visible crimson streak in the void!
The knight captain was stunned. He fell off his horse, his eardrums ruptured, blood splattered, and he lost his hearing. His body rolled in the mud, his mind in chaos, as if he were under a mind spell. His face, protected by his helmet, twitched uncontrollably!
With a sharp crack, the helmet that had struck the magical runes was blasted apart by the sonic boom. Blood stained his eyes, and most of his vision was blurred. He slowly stood up and watched his companions roll around in pain, their mouths twitching. Although he couldn't hear them, they must have been uttering shrill screams and curses.
He stiffly raised his head, followed the streak of light, and was stunned.
It was a huge fireball wrapped in a powerful flame. Under the vast sky, it flew over their heads like a falling meteor and crashed into the command camp with undiminished force!
Miracle!!
"call out!"
The wolf riders charged forward, unleashing a volley of arrows from a distance that killed the remaining soldiers on the ground.
Faced with a defenseless enemy, the wolf riders bared their ferocious fangs, turning the tide into a one-sided massacre!
Damn it!
Through the eagle eye, a huge fireball burst forth, and its high-altitude descent alone annihilated the first group of knights. The general roared in shock and anger, and nine potential halos surged from his body, unleashing the agility of a cheetah!
No one expected that the other side had a hidden master magician!
Furthermore, their specialty is fire magic with astonishing destructive power; this attack was infused with at least five potential auras!
In an instant, heat surged from his entire body, and his violent potential stirred up a gale around him, condensing into nine holy rune light walls in the void!
He attempted to use his most proficient defensive techniques to withstand the burst of this attack!
Mages excel at burst damage, which consumes a huge amount of mana.
