Chapter 102 Where is the Great Tang Dynasty in the East?

Wang Ergouzi stealthily made his way straight towards Yanji City Prison.

He had already contacted the Taoist priest on Blue Star.

Contacting each other offline is convenient; the two agreed on a time.

Let's coordinate from both inside and outside, and get started!

After the Taoist priest was captured, he was highly valued by Nuonianhua.

He was recognized by the surviving guards as being in league with the players.

His cheerful conversation with Hydra earlier had been remembered by the guards.

In Nuonianhua's eyes, Taoist priests are an important channel for understanding mysterious forces.

Nuonianhua interrogated the Taoist priest three times in total.

The first time was the day after the players left.

Nuonianhua, filled with anger and murderous intent, interrogated the Taoist priest in the prison.

He ordered the executioner to hang the Taoist priest up, and then, taking a whip soaked in salt water, he first lashed the priest hard.

One was to vent their anger, and the other was to intimidate the other.

With one lash, a horrifying bloodstain immediately appeared on the Taoist priest's body, his entire back covered in blood, a sight too painful to behold.

The whips in the prison were specially made with barbs, and a single lash would cause excruciating pain.

Kenuo Nianhua frowned as she looked at the guy in front of her. He lashed out with his whip without uttering a sound, and even had a smile on his face.

Nuonianhua's heart skipped a beat. It seemed this guy was a tough nut to crack!

It seems that torture isn't very effective!

Little did he know, the other person didn't feel pain at all; their pain receptors were switched off!

I'm quietly watching Nuonianhua dress up as AC.

"I'll only ask you the question once. If you answer well, you'll live. If you answer poorly, I'll give you ten more lashes."

Nuonianhua admired the tough guy, but he didn't show it on his face.

He continued the interrogation with a cold expression.

"Alright, alright, ask away."

The Taoist priest nodded in agreement.

He received a task.

"Adventure Quest: Forced Confession"

"Mission Introduction: You are being interrogated by the Lord of Yanji City while imprisoned. Find a way to survive."

"Task Reward: Contribution Points".

It was obvious that the mission was to have him infiltrate and act as an inside agent.

The Taoist priest happily accepted the task.

It's so easy, I made a profit!

"Where are you from? Where are you from...?"

Before Nuonianhua could finish speaking, the Taoist priest impatiently interrupted.

"Didn't I say before? I come from the Tang Dynasty in the East, and I'm going to the Western Paradise to obtain the scriptures!"

"Don't believe me? Ask him!"

The Taoist priest pointed to the city gate guards standing behind Nuonianhua.

When the city gate guard saw the Taoist priest pointing at him, he quickly nodded, indicating that the man was telling the truth.

Because he had been joking around with Hydra, which the guards had overheard.

"Where is the Great Tang Dynasty in the East? Where is the Western Paradise?" Nuonianhua glanced at the city gate guards, frowned, and asked sharply.

"Good question!" the Taoist priest shouted, startling Nuonianhua and his group.

"The poem says: Before chaos was divided, heaven and earth were in turmoil, a vast and boundless expanse unseen by anyone. Since Pangu broke the primordial chaos, the distinction between pure and impure has been established. All living beings rely on his supreme benevolence for shelter and sustaining, and all things are created for good. To know the workings of creation and the primordial power, one must listen to 'Journey to the West: The Tale of the Exorcist'!"

"The story takes place in a secret realm called Flower Fruit Mountain! At the summit of Flower Fruit Mountain, there is a..."

The Taoist priest began to tell a story.

He spoke with such cadence and intonation, and his delivery was absolutely brilliant.

Moreover, the Taoist priest cleverly modified the background to reflect the customs of this continent.

As the saying goes, adaptation is not random rewriting.

The Taoist priest's modifications were very down-to-earth.

Nuonianhua and his group were completely fooled.

By the time Nuonianhua realized that the Taoist priest wasn't revealing information but telling a story, the priest had already started talking about Sun Wukong seeking immortality.

It was already dark outside the prison.

Damn it!

Nuonianhua lashed the Taoist priest several more times with the whip, then threw down the whip and stormed off.

Three days later, Nuonianhua interrogated the Taoist priest for the second time. Upon meeting him, Nuonianhua chopped off one of the Taoist priest's fingers without saying a word.

"Stop with the nonsense! Give me something concrete!"

The Taoist priest chuckled and immediately launched into a verse of "Battle Through the Heavens: Battle Qi Transforms into a Horse," leaving Nuonianhua completely bewildered once again.

The Taoist priest has a magical talent.

"Talent - Mouth Cannon: You can use your words to put your enemies into a state of confusion."

As everyone knows, time usually flies when listening to audiobooks.

Nuonianhua returned empty-handed this time, having wasted a whole day.

Frustrated and empty-handed, Nuonianhua stormed off again.

Nothing was gained.

Because the Taoist priest could tell stories, the guards in the prison all liked him very much.

Because work is boring.

Listening to stories is so much fun!

The prison guards prepared some good dishes for the Taoist priest and then stayed in his cell to listen to his stories.

Believe it or not, the Taoist priest is actually doing better in this prison than he did in Rabies City.

At least I don't have to cook for myself.

The guard spoke gently and was very talented; he really liked this place.

When Nuonianhua interrogated the Taoist priest for the third time, he had already given up on getting any information out of him.

In his mind, the Taoist priest was an incredibly tough and awesome guy.

Even after I chopped off my finger, there was no reaction.

A true hero.

He came this time...

It's mainly for listening to stories.

Listening to stories is much more interesting than gathering intelligence.

And so, the Taoist priest settled down in the prison of Yanji City.
