Chapter 1 The Special Dog Trainer

New Calendar Year 43, Alliance Fifth District, Wangcheng.

Amidst the bustling crowds on Shuangqiao Street, the frantic barking of dogs echoed from a pet shop.

Through the transparent glass, you can see that it is a German Shepherd with a thick iron chain around its neck, the other end of which is locked to a pillar.

It was pulling hard on the chains, making a rattling sound, and knocking over things around it.

The vicious dog drooled freely, its muscular body tense, its mouth full of sharp teeth barking wildly at the shop owner, ready to pounce and hurt him at any moment.

The shop owner stood far away, not daring to approach.

Without a doubt, this is an arrogant and vicious dog.

Ding-dong.

The wind chimes hanging at the door were rang, and the moment Qin Tan walked in, the vicious dog that was still barking suddenly whimpered, shrank its head and lay down on the ground, its claws tucked in.

The rest of the pets in the shop stopped their restlessness. Some stood on end with their fur standing on end, some hid, and those that couldn't hide pretended to be dead, creating a scene of "corpses".

"Xiao Qin, you've finally arrived."

The boss, Sister Li, is thirty-eight years old this year and still has a charming appearance. When she saw Qin Tan, her sullen expression instantly brightened up.

She glared at the black-backed dog, then walked over and took Qin Tan's hand affectionately.

"Xiao Qin, since you've already graduated, why don't you consider working for me from now on?"

"How about I offer you a base salary of 8,000 per month, plus commission?"

The pet shop, which had been filled with various noises, fell silent the moment Qin Tan appeared.

The boss, who had been tormented for several days, saw Qin Tan as his savior.

Qin Tan was also helpless.

She didn't know what happened, but seven years ago she found herself becoming someone that cats and dogs disliked.

If they encounter any animals on the road, those that can move will run away as fast as they can, while those that can't, like now, are trying to minimize their presence and trembling as if they've seen some great demon king.

She met Sister Li by chance and then somehow ended up with a part-time job.

She comes here once a week to help train the animals.

The animals that have graduated from her care are described by customers as sweet little darlings, which has greatly expanded the pet shop's business.

Sister Li believes that Qin Tan is a rare talent and wants to keep him.

Qin Tan hesitated.

The conditions Sister Li offered were really good, but she studied literature.

"In short, think it over carefully, I won't treat you unfairly."

Sister Li hid behind Qin Tan, baring her teeth fiercely at the black dog, trying to take advantage of its master's power.

"Okay, I'll think about it."

Qin Tan agreed verbally and walked towards the black dog. She saw the vicious dog moving its feet in small steps, its limbs trembling, and its head trying to hide in its tail.

"Pfft, you cowardly dog." This was Sister Li laughing. She had been yelled at by this dog all afternoon, but now it was behaving itself.

Qin Tan smiled helplessly, took a few steps forward, squatted down, and, despite the black-backed creature's strong resistance, cupped its head.

She stared into the other person's large, wet eyes and gave them serious instructions.

"From now on, you must obey your master's orders, or you'll see me again, understand?"

"Woof woof!" The vicious dog whimpered, tears rolling down its cheeks and landing on Qin Tan's hand as it nodded vigorously.

Qin Tan, who had previously frightened animals to tears, calmly wiped away their tears, only to find that the more she wiped, the more tears appeared.

A large, fierce dog cried like a timid wife.

Finally, Qin Tan sighed, placed the other person's head on the ground, and stood up.

"alright."

She said to Sister Li.

She didn't do anything special; every time she threatened the vicious dog like that, it turned into a good dog.

"Okay, then I'll call my master over."

Sister Li was used to it and smacked her lips as she made a phone call.

Qin Tan smiled and sat down in the chair.

This street is near a residential area, and the pet shops there are doing good business.

"It will take half an hour."

Sister Li quickly hung up the phone and tossed a banana to Qin Tan.

"Haven't you guys had a lot of problems lately? Aren't you really planning to move?"

"If you're willing to come and work here, I'll reimburse you half of the rent for the new apartment you found."

Sister Li raised her stakes again, but this time Qin Tan simply shook her head.

"I won't exchange it; it was left to me by my family."

Eight years ago, a car accident took her parents away, and that old house is her only remaining memory.

Knowing that Qin Tan was very stubborn on this point, Sister Li stopped trying to persuade her.

"I don't know what's wrong with this world. It's dangerous everywhere. Are people even allowed to live?"

Sister Li complained.

"This is not something we can control."

Qin Tan peeled a banana, his tone sarcastic.

They were in the fifth district of the alliance, which was also the most backward district.

Improving the world is not something that people at the bottom of society should be thinking about.

While the two were chatting, more than a dozen pets in the pet shop remained in a state of rest.

Half an hour later, the owner of the black-backed dog arrived.

Qin Tan personally unlocked the chains and handed them to the other party's owner.

The German Shepherd, which used to be unruly and wouldn't let anyone touch it, now wants to stick to its owner to show affection.

"What methods did you use to train them?"

The owner was amazed and tentatively reached out, only to see the other eagerly stretch its head out to let the owner pet it.

"It's a secret."

Sister Li blinked, and taking advantage of her owner's good mood, she began to promote the products in the shop.

The dog training fee plus the products came to over five thousand yuan, and the owner waved his hand and paid the bill.

Take care.

The doorbell rang, and Qin Tan got up.

"You're leaving already?" Sister Li frowned. "It's getting late. Let me treat you to dinner before you go back."

"No, let's talk about it next time," she politely declined.

"You!" Sister Li scolded playfully, then transferred two thousand to Qin Tan.

"1,500 is the agreed-upon dog training fee, and 500 is the commission from selling the goods. You are not allowed to refuse; I can't earn this money without you."

Don't be fooled by the fact that Qin Tan only made two thousand in this short time; she tried all afternoon but couldn't get even half a step closer to the black-backed bird.

Unable to refuse this act of kindness, Qin Tan accepted it, said goodbye to Sister Li, and walked towards the park across the street.

Passing through Shuangqiao Park, you will arrive at the old town where Qin Tan's family lives.

It was evening, and the sun was setting.

Qin Tan was walking in the park when she encountered a wild cat hunting.

The moment the wildcat saw Qin Tan, its fur bristled, it let out a pitiful yelp, dropped the mouse, and ran away with a limp.

The rat that was still alive struggled to bury its head in the dead leaves in an attempt to escape.

Qin Tan's eyes twitched, and she quickened her pace to leave the park.

Behind her, the wind rustled through the low bushes, and shadows danced.

Once you enter the old town, what you see is a completely different world from the street you just left.

The surrounding buildings are very dilapidated, with cracks crisscrossing the three-story old houses, and the cement that was later repaired has fallen off again.

Cars were parked haphazardly on both sides of the road, and the stench emanating from the garbage cans along the street was unbearable.

Meow~

Qin Tan paused, and a soft meow came from the alley beside her, making her feel all tingly.

There's a saying: the more unattainable something is, the more you want it.

Qin Tan looked over.
