Why aren't you going?
Bai Yucheng asked Qin Tan, "Isn't this thing quite tempting?"
That sweet aroma makes you want to hug it and gnaw on it.
"The most tempting things are often the most dangerous." That was Qin Tan's answer.
In fact, in her view, the tree looked more like a huge, rotting mountain of flesh.
The so-called fruit is simply a mixture of pus and blood.
She didn't smell any fragrance, but rather a foul stench that made her want to avoid it.
This thing isn't as "healthy" as it looks.
"This is the Corruptor."
"A bizarre creature that can mimic plants, with its fruit serving as a trap and its fragrance used to lure prey."
Xia Shuang leaned against the car, her arms crossed over her chest.
"Once you enter its attack range, the fragrance becomes even stronger, and those with weaker resistance to abnormal statuses will be completely devoured by it in a state of intoxication."
This thing is dangerous.
Xia Shuang didn't stop them because she planned to use this opportunity to teach these people a lesson.
Among the team, only Xia Shuang and Bai Yucheng had experience outside the wall.
They had neither experience nor Qin Tan's vigilance.
If these idiots don't learn a lesson, they'll probably start treating missions like a vacation.
Among all the strange occurrences outside the wall, this Corruptor doesn't even rank.
"Hey, what brings you back, kid?"
It is Xiyang.
After walking a few steps with the group, I don't know why I ran back.
"I don't think that's quite right."
Xi Yang, who said this, secretly glanced at Qin Tan.
What he actually wanted to say was that he felt things were not simple because Qin Tan hadn't taken any action.
Since he was planning to curry favor with a powerful figure, he naturally had to follow behind that figure; if the powerful figure didn't move, he wouldn't move either.
But looking at Bai Yucheng's gloating expression, Xi Yang knew that his choice had been right again.
Leading the way is Xia Yao.
She stood under the tree, its tendrils swaying in front of her.
The tree was covered with vines, and at the bottom of those vines hung plump fruits.
One of them was very close to Xia Yao.
Xia Yao's throat bobbed, and she unconsciously swallowed.
As one of the heirs of the Xia family, she lived a good life in the First District, and many rare fruits were her snacks.
But this thing in front of her gave her an urge to devour it.
"It smells so good."
Qin Jie gasped, his eyes gleaming. He bypassed Xia Yao and grabbed the nearest fruit.
Xia Yao couldn't stand this behavior.
"I was here first, this is mine."
She pushed Qin Jie aside, leaped forward, and successfully caught the fruit.
The fruit feels warm to the touch, just like its color.
After landing, Xia Yao gave Qin Tan a smug look.
"What, what are you holding?"
But the response she received was Qin Jie's terrified gaze.
His gaze was fixed on Xia Yao's palm, where the fruit was located.
The fear seemed exaggerated; Xia Yao felt the other person was putting on an act.
She lowered her head dismissively, then her hair stood on end, and she dramatically flung the object in her hand away.
It was clearly a fruit, but it turned into a black blood cell wrapped in a thin membrane.
Because Xia Yao's movements were too exaggerated, the blood sphere exploded.
The pus and blood inside splattered out, and the strange smell that hit them made them dizzy.
Splash!
This is the sound of leaves dancing in the wind.
But Xia Yao remembered that there was no wind at this time.
"Hurry up."
Fan Zhi's voice broke in, and Xia Yao heard some noise above her head.
She instinctively lunged forward and saw that where she had just been standing, a tree branch had smashed a large hole in the ground.
The commotion was even greater overhead.
Xia Yao looked over in surprise and realized that the fruits were all swelling.
It exploded before Xia Yao could even try to avoid it.
Pus and blood splattered, covering Xia Yao's body.
The aroma can be so strong that it can be nauseating.
But Xia Yao didn't have time to vomit, and the tree's appearance began to change.
After attracting food, all the roots that had been clinging to the cement twisted and pulled themselves out, circling around the prey.
A large tree that does not rely on soil will naturally not receive its nutrients from the soil.
As the tangled roots of the tree were untangled, people discovered that the ground beneath the tree was littered with bones.
There were unidentified animals and humans.
The fleeing individuals were all within the enemy's attack range, and due to the suddenness of the attack, they were caught off guard and struggled to react.
Humanity's extraordinary abilities seem so inadequate in the face of the bizarre world outside the walls.
"Calm down, everyone."
In the end, Fan Zhi managed to control the situation.
He suppressed his nausea and pulled Xia Yao away. With a flick of his fingers, a white flame floated in the air.
Despite the small size of the flame, the nearby tree branches shrank back as if they had encountered a natural enemy.
Seeing that his abilities were still very useful, Fan Zhi felt somewhat relieved.
He manipulated the flames to land on one of the tree branches.
The moment they made contact, the flames seemed to use the branch as fuel, instantly erupting into a brighter and more magnificent fire.
The sun's rays shone brightly in my field of vision.
The eerie creature being burned emitted strange sounds.
The sounds echoed in my mind.
Fortunately, the fire quickly grew larger until it covered the entire tree.
Its movements were strange and stiff, its entire body was set ablaze, and in the end, only a handful of ashes remained on the ground.
Sunfire was taken back by Fan Zhi.
"Hurry up."
