The car only regained its steady speed after we had completely left the amusement park.
The few white ghosts that had come to bother them were the focus of everyone's attention.
Qin Tan turned her head to look behind her.
On the undulating ground, the amusement park's facilities were obscured, except for the tall Ferris wheel, which was only half visible.
The Ferris wheel was too far away, and it became blurred in the light and shadow.
In the glance Qin Tan looked over, she seemed to see a figure flash by above the Ferris wheel.
Looking closer, it was completely empty.
What are you looking at?
Xia Yao was a little suspicious.
Having received so many shocks in just one day, Xia Yao became exhausted and listless.
She felt that Qin Tan's look just now indicated that he had discovered something.
Looking in the direction the other person was looking, there was nothing there.
But that's even more chilling, isn't it?
"nothing."
Qin Tan sat up straight.
About an hour later, as dusk fell, the vehicle began to slow down and eventually stopped in front of a relatively intact building.
"Biological Research Institute?"
Xia Yao stood on a rock, looking down at the flattened sect below and muttering to herself.
This building used to be a research institute, but I don't know what its research focused on.
It occupies a large area, and the glass at the entrance is broken, so you can just walk in anywhere.
"This is it."
Bai Yucheng walked at the front.
The last time was right here, when the White Ghost turned into a human, killed the rest of his team, and framed himself.
"This is the only place around here where we can set up camp. Be careful tonight, and split up to keep watch."
After pushing open a door, you can see traces of a fight inside, as well as several skeletons on the ground.
The flesh on the skeleton had been gnawed on by some unknown creature, and the bite marks had left the bones incomplete.
Count them, there are exactly eight.
These were Bai Yucheng's former companions.
With the scene so badly damaged, no one could tell what had happened there.
Fortunately, Bai Yucheng had taken a long time to get here last time.
Based on the initial time estimate, it would take at least two more days for these white ghosts to transform into "people".
This made everyone relax a little.
After clearing out a space, the tent was taken out of Ke Yuanyun's space.
On the stove, Shen Qing, the logistics officer in the team, was preparing tonight's food.
It can be said that among this nine-person team, Shen Qing, who served as logistics and doctor, had the lowest profile.
He was rather taciturn and didn't talk much. He had a baby face, and when someone approached him, he would just smile shyly.
Fortunately, he is very efficient at his work.
Soon the aroma of food wafted out.
In such places, especially after nightfall, the light of the fire illuminates the darkness, making it the most conspicuous target in the darkness.
Therefore, the fire was extinguished after dinner.
The first shift of night watch was assigned to Qin Jie and Ke Yuanyun.
The group was on the third floor of the research institute.
It wasn't bedtime yet, so Qin Tan was pacing around.
The environment was broken everywhere, and a lot of documents were left behind and scattered on the ground.
As time went by, those documents became tainted and difficult to read.
Qin Tan did find some documents in some safes, which contained research on a biological agent.
The goal of this drug is to resolve some genetic diseases after injection.
It must be said, this is a great goal.
Unfortunately, there was a certain technological gap, and Qin Tan didn't know whether it could have been achieved back then.
Instead, Qin Tan noticed the existence of something similar to the Sun God Evolution Potion from this.
"You found it?"
Bai Yucheng leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, speaking casually.
"The inspiration for that evolution potion came from these materials; what you see is only a part of it."
"They paid a lot of money to get these things from me."
Bai Yucheng's tone when mentioning the Sun God remained unchanged.
"Then what is it that even if the Sun God spent money, he couldn't take away from you?"
Qin Tan put down the documents in her hand and continued reading in the room.
The sun god had great ambitions.
The emergence of semi-finished products has given them greater hope for the future.
Their side mission this time was to find more scientific research data from the ruins of this old world.
This research institute may still have value for further exploration.
Have you ever heard of the potion of immortality?
As soon as Bai Yucheng asked the question, he received a look from Qin Tan as if she were looking at him like he was an idiot.
This idea has always existed, but to this day, no one has been able to achieve it.
Fortunately, Bai Yucheng only brought this up as a starting point for the conversation.
"Immortality is unattainable, but what if we could extend our lifespan?"
Humans today are at most a hundred years old.
Those who are unlucky may pass away in their fifties or sixties, not to mention those who die young for various reasons.
If lifespan could be extended, society as a whole would undergo tremendous changes.
"If I told you I had a way to extend human lifespan, would you believe me?"
Bai Yucheng nodded his head again.
He had a habit of memorizing important information so that no one could extract it from him unless he wanted to.
Qin Tan did not answer, but just looked at him quietly.
"I knew I couldn't fool you, I had no choice."
"If there were a way, I might even be able to buy Apollo."
He made a joke, then his smile faded and his expression became much more serious.
“Those who are associated with the sun god do not believe it.”
"They believe that the ultimate goal of this research institute is to extend human lifespan."
