The room door was closed, a light was on, and the curtains were drawn.
The small house was crammed with four adults. Gan Pengpeng stood opposite the three of them, a mocking look on his face.
"You've come to me for help?"
“Our base kindly took you in, and I personally brought you back, but you stole important secrets from the base and fled to avoid punishment.”
"I'm already being lenient by not killing you, and you still want me to help you? Have you lost your minds?"
Gan Pengpeng's tone was intense.
God knows how devastated he was when he heard that all the members of the Dawn Squad had become wanted criminals.
He even considers these people his friends.
The result is how he treated his friend.
Gan Pengpeng was so angry he laughed.
"I didn't directly call for people to arrest you, so I've done right by you."
Bai Yucheng was still pretending to be a rice dumpling when he heard this, and he stammered while winking at Gan Pengpeng.
What are you trying to say?
With a dark expression, Gan Pengpeng released Bai Yucheng's mouth and asked in a hostile tone.
Beside him, a bright red flower the size of a head grew on a dark green branch.
It is in the bud stage.
The flower bud swayed precariously, its petals poised to open at any moment.
It contains complex plant toxins. If you absorb even a little bit, you will be paralyzed by all your nerves, and then you will turn into a pool of blood through the corrosive effects of the toxins.
But during this process, your mind remains clear.
"I want to say, why don't you just call people to arrest us instead of wanting to hear what we have to say?"
Bai Yucheng's question hit the nail on the head, which also made Gan Pengpeng angry and embarrassed.
He maliciously stuffed a bunch of weeds into Bai Yucheng's mouth, with a few even sticking out of his nostrils.
Bai Yucheng was suffocating and kept rolling his eyes.
"I just want to know why you did this?"
"In my understanding, you shouldn't be enemies, or have I misjudged you from the beginning?"
They were companions who had gone through thick and thin together, so the feelings between them were different.
Gan Pengpeng doesn't want to accept the current situation.
At this point, it would be impolite to keep it a secret any longer, especially since they need Gan Pengpeng's help.
Xia Shuang told Gan Pengpeng about most of what had happened during this period.
For a long time after Xia Shuang spoke, Gan Pengpeng remained silent.
But the grass that had been blocking Bai Yucheng's nasal cavity was gone.
Bai Yucheng, finally able to breathe, had tears welling up in his eyes. He was so unlucky; it should have been Xiyang who suffered this kind of torment before.
The clock in the room was ticking.
Gan Pengpeng's face was unpredictable, and he found it hard to understand.
What does it mean that the leader of Tianchi killed his father? What does it mean that the angels they saw were fakes?
What is this connection between the leader of Tianchi and the group of strange beings led by the Butterfly Queen?
“I know it’s hard for you to believe me, but I can prove it.”
Xia Shuang drew back the curtains and pointed in the direction of the tower, saying, "Even if your plants aren't in your field of vision, they still provide you with a view, right?"
"You can go and take a look inside the mezzanine of that tower."
"The truth you seek is there."
Xia Shuang stepped aside, indicating that Gan Pengpeng could go at any time.
"No."
Gan Pengpeng shook his head: "I've already seen it."
His plants are everywhere; whether or not he can see them depends solely on whether he wants to see them.
He couldn't possibly have missed the unusual activity at the White Tower, or even underground at the entire Base No. 8.
"Since you say there are many white ghosts here, how can you guarantee I'm safe? Maybe I'm lying to you too?"
As Gan Pengpeng asked, he casually untied the restraints on Bai Yucheng's body.
"Because I see that you are not."
Once freed, Bai Yucheng dusted off his clothes and sat down next to Gan Pengpeng, trying to put his arm around his shoulder, but was rejected by Chou.
"My eyes can see a lot of things."
Bai Yucheng pointed to his eyes and added, "It tells me that you are a companion."
This sentence shut Gan Pengpeng up.
He rubbed his temples, looking irritated.
"Tell me, what do you want me to do for you?"
He stands on the side of Base 8, but only if that base is the one he remembers.
Instead of this chaotic, upside-down place where enemies and friends are indistinguishable.
Beneath the seemingly calm surface lies a turbulent undercurrent.
The two were separated only by a thin layer of gauze, and the rope that untied the gauze was in Tianchi's hand.
He wasn't sure if Base 8 would be safe once Tianchi took over.
Rather than trying to find a solution after something actually happens, he prefers to nip it in the bud, so he is willing to cooperate with Xia Shuang and the others.
"We need you to capture Bai Yucheng and hand him over to Tianchi."
Xia Shuang's words were startling.
Even Bai Yucheng, who was prepared, felt a toothache, let alone Gan Pengpeng.
He opened his mouth wide, looked at this and then at that, and after a long while, he asked Bai Yucheng in a malicious tone.
"How did you offend Captain Xia?"
That's ruthless! It's like throwing a lamb to the slaughter, and they even delivered it themselves.
"I want to know too."
Bai Yucheng spread his hands to indicate his innocence.
"Will it work?"
Of the group, Fan Zhi was the one most worried.
They planned to use Bai Yucheng to infiltrate the center and then find an opportunity to rescue everyone.
This is on the premise that Gan Pengpeng cooperates 100%.
The collars around the necks of the two captured individuals will restrict their supernatural abilities.
Therefore, when Gan Pengpeng sent Bai Yucheng over as a trophy, he had to tamper with the collar so that Tianchi wouldn't notice anything amiss.
