Chapter 105 Zhao Yujin

On a hot summer day, a woman dressed in a white undershirt, a gray yoga top, black high-waisted straight-leg pants, and casual shoes, appeared to be around 1.7 meters tall and about 20 years old. She had an excellent figure, a beautiful face, and long, black hair that cascaded over one shoulder. She also had a pair of lovely almond-shaped eyes.

This person was none other than Zhao Yujin, the crazy woman from the Zhao family that Su Tang had mentioned. She went to the lobby of the municipal government alone.

She went to the front desk to arrange a meeting with Mu Qingcheng. The front desk asked her if she had made an appointment in advance, and Zhao Yujin shook her head and said no.

Just as the receptionist was about to apologize and say that she needed to make another appointment, she heard Zhao Yujin say, "I can answer your mayor's current questions, and I hope she can see me."

Upon hearing Zhao Yujin's words, the receptionist was only slightly taken aback before immediately calling the mayor's assistant.

When the assistant heard that Mu Qingcheng had agreed, she asked the receptionist to guide her upstairs.

Upon arriving at the mayor's office, Mu Qingcheng had already prepared tea and was waiting for Zhao Yujin's arrival.

The two women's eyes flashed with amazement when they saw each other. The two women had similar temperaments, both of them were strong women, and neither of them was inferior to the other.

'Is this the person Third Brother wants to protect?'

Mu Qingcheng suddenly sensed the hostility of the person in front of her. Although it was only for a moment, she still felt it, and her originally calm eyes turned sharp.

"Don't look at me like that. To some extent, I'm not your enemy," Zhao Yujin said, showing approval at the change in the other person's gaze.

"Let me introduce myself first. I am Zhao Yujin from the Zhao family," she said, picking up her teacup and sipping her tea.

"The Zhao family?! I've never heard of this family before." Mu Qingcheng was puzzled when she heard Zhao Yujin's words.

Zhao Yujin put down the tea in his hand and began to introduce her to the hidden families. Mu Qingcheng had also heard people from higher up mention such families. These families generally had great power and influence, so how could her position as mayor be of any interest to them?

As if sensing Mu Qingcheng's doubts, Zhao Yujin briefly told her about the Zhao family's situation and that the person behind it all was Zhao Hongbo.

"What's your purpose in telling me all this?" Mu Qingcheng's eyes became wary.

Seeing Mu Qingcheng's gaze, Zhao Yujin shrugged and put down his teacup, his voice still cold, "Yes, I need you to keep Zhao Hongbo occupied. I'll deal with him from behind the scenes."

"You're helping me? Why? Aren't you family?"

"I'm helping myself; he touched a nerve."

What should I do?

"Maintain the status quo; you don't need to do anything."

Upon hearing Zhao Yujin's words, Mu Qingcheng was taken aback, and a look of confusion returned to her face. "Did the esteemed Miss Zhao come here specifically to tell me about the reclusive families?"

"Hehe, I just came to see if you're qualified to be by his side," Zhao Yujin naturally heard the sarcasm in Mu Qingcheng's tone, and stood up as she continued to speak slowly.

"Him? You mean Xie Wei? How did you know about me and Xie Wei..." Mu Qingcheng's face showed even more confusion. "What is your relationship with Xie Wei?"

“He is my Achilles’ heel, but I am probably just a stranger to her now,” Zhao Yujin said, a hint of sadness flashing in her eyes.

Just as Mu Qingcheng was about to get up and say something, she heard Zhao Yujin speak.

"Don't tell him I came looking for you; now is not the time," she said before leaving.

That evening, Mu Qingcheng went to the suburbs, which is on the edge of the capital, about 50 kilometers away from the city center. She came here because she had an inspection mission.

After the inspection, Mu Qingcheng drove back to the city by herself, her mind still filled with her conversation with Zhao Yujin during the day, and even more so with speculation about Xie Wei's identity.

'Xie Wei is from the Xie family, but the fact that he was able to protect me from the Zhao family suggests he has the support of a hidden family behind him? Was he involved in this collaboration with Qianxun? And what did he sacrifice?'

It was only at this point that Mu Qingcheng realized she really didn't understand Xie Wei at all. He had done so much for her, yet she hadn't even thought about getting to know him better.

Mu Qingcheng felt that she herself was a collection of contradictions. On one hand, she was indulging in his gentleness, and on the other hand, she pushed him far away. On one hand, she warned him that it was all just a transaction, and on the other hand, she couldn't help but want to possess him. On one hand, she enjoyed his affection, and on the other hand, she made him angry.

Unlike Zhao Yujin, who could openly declare her love for him, she was just missing an opportunity.

But she couldn't. She was a coward. Xie Wei gave her many chances, but she never had the courage to speak her mind.

She heard what Xie Wei said the night before he left for Shanghai.

He asked her if she could like him, and even used the word "barely".

She really wanted to tell him that she liked him and wasn't forcing him, but she just kept those words to herself and pretended to be asleep to avoid him. How despicable of her.

He hasn't come to see her since he got angry last time. She doesn't know if he's so engrossed in his new relationship that he's forgotten about her, or if he's still sulking. She misses him so much and wants to see him.

Just as Mu Qingcheng was thinking this, four dark figures suddenly appeared on the road. Mu Qingcheng slammed on the brakes as a natural reaction.

Just as Mu Qingcheng was about to say something, she saw four people slowly walking towards her. Knowing that they meant no harm, she turned the steering wheel to turn around, when she saw one of them quickly step forward and smash the front of her car with a punch.

Mu Qingcheng reacted quickly, immediately jumping out of the car, rolling once, and landing steadily.

"The Zhao family?" Mu Qingcheng assumed a fighting stance, looked at the four men in black robes opposite her, and took a deep breath to prepare for battle.
