Chapter 127 The Ruins Are About to Open

Xie Wei and Lin Qingying appeared on the streets of Wandu.

Lin Qingying styled her hair in a half-up princess hairstyle, wore a black top with a logo pattern, a gray denim skirt, and beige mid-calf boots. Her simple makeup was enough to make men on the street turn their heads every few steps.

Xie Wei, standing next to Lin Qingying, simply wore a white hat and casual clothes mainly in shades of cyan and blue. Without much decoration, he exuded a superior aura. Standing next to Lin Qingying, his nearly 1.9-meter height made them look well-matched, and no one said they were mismatched.

Perhaps it's because the people who come here are all quite shrewd, that kind of scene where you try to chat someone up at the airport only to be slapped in the face doesn't happen.

Anhui Province belongs to the Central Plains region of China, and its scenery is polarized. In the southeast, there are small bridges and flowing water in the morning, with a thin mist like gauze; in the evening, the setting sun shines obliquely, and fishing boats float on the water. In contrast, the northwest is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with towering peaks and steep ridges. It has the most famous scenic spots and historical sites, and many famous ancient verses originated here. It is a place that every literati yearns for.

The place where Xie and Wei were located was in the westernmost part of Wandu, which was considered a relatively remote place. It was probably because of the strange scenery caused by the ruins that travelers from all over the country suddenly came here to visit, and the streets were quite lively.

The managers here are also quite astute enough to seize this windfall and encourage locals to open small shops with local characteristics on the streets, offering everything from souvenirs and food to unique accessories.

Lin Qingying grabbed Xie Wei's wrist, saying it was to prevent them from getting separated, and they strolled along the roadside stalls, looking at all sorts of trinkets.

Xie Wei, on the other hand, was observing the passersby on the street, seemingly searching or observing.

According to the Eye of Destiny, Ye Yan was destined to come here. The fate of the chosen one cannot be defied. Despite the presence of Xie Wei as a variable, he still had to walk this path.

Those who are interested will surely know about the ruins. Not to mention people from other places, some people in Yucheng and Wandu with resources are definitely eyeing it covetously and will not easily let go of this opportunity. After all, some people have developed to such a level precisely because of this.

As Xie Wei walked down this street, he sensed the presence of spiritual energy fluctuations from more than one place, indicating an innate level or higher.

"Third Brother, do you think this looks good?" Lin Qingying tugged at Xie Wei.

Feeling the tugging of others, Xie Wei came back to her senses. In her hand was a rope woven with a special technique, with decorations that could be hung at the end. Overall, it was quite beautiful. Compared to the monotonous hand ropes available nowadays, this craftsmanship was quite precious.

Xie Wei nodded in agreement.

"Right, I think so too. I want to make one," Lin Qingying said as she put the rope back in its place and began to choose styles and colors from the shelf.

This is a DIY shop where you can choose finished products or select your own colors and decorations.

"Let's braid some anklets," Xie Wei suddenly suggested.

Lin Qingying looked at Xie Wei with a puzzled expression, but her eyes held a hint of surprise.

"That scab on your ankle has been with you for ages," Xie Wei joked. "After wearing it for so long, isn't it going to stink?"

"I wash them every day, okay?" Lin Qingying feigned annoyance, pinching Xie Wei's soft arm. "Besides, a fairy's feet always smell sweet, how could they stink?"

Since they had already started touching, even though it didn't hurt, Xie Wei had no choice but to back down and quickly put on a smiling face to get Lin Qingying to let him go.

Under the watchful gaze of the proprietress, he still shyly told her that he would weave it into anklets.

The proprietress was very professional; she smiled and agreed.

"The rope should still be red, and as for the decorations..." Lin Qingying looked at the decorations on the table—a small gold lock, a safety buckle, a bell... She couldn't make up her mind for a moment, and turned to look at Xie Wei.

Sensing her gaze, Xie Wei glanced at the items on the table. When he saw the bell, he thought of his thoughts on the plane. His gaze sharpened, but his fingertips still pointed to the peace buckle.

Although brief, Lin Qingying noticed the strange look in Xie Wei's eyes and exchanged a few words with the proprietress, only hearing about things like bracelets.

The DIY session took half an hour. Xie Wei paid, and the two of them went to browse around some more before coming back to pick it up.

Thirty minutes was just a moment, and Xie Wei quickly returned with bags full of things, highlighting Lin Qingying's remarkable achievements, but most of them were for Xie Wei.

Shopping is generally considered to be a girl's nature, and with someone she likes by her side, she wishes time could stand still for every moment.

Lin Qingying took two boxes from the proprietress, nodded, and left with Xie Wei under the proprietress's inquiring and encouraging gaze.

Back at the guesthouse, Xie Wei unloaded his bags and stretched his arms. His arms, which had been used to carry and hang things, were numb. Only the arm that Lin Qingying was holding was still functioning normally.

"Third Brother, put your hand out," Lin Qingying said softly, her voice tinged with shyness, as she looked at Xie Wei's back.

Xie Wei, unaware of what was going on, continued to move his arms and obediently stretched out his other arm.

A strange sensation came from her wrist. It turned out that Lin Qingying had tied the red rope she had just ordered from the stall with a safety buckle at the end and a small silver bell in the middle.

"What is this?" Xie Wei stopped what he was doing and looked at Lin Qingying.

"I bought this for my third brother," Lin Qingying said, stroking the clear pulse on his arm, teasingly tracing it downwards to his fingertips. She had her own ulterior motives.

Feeling Xie Wei curl his fingers back, Lin Qingying lowered her eyes in disappointment, and noticed that her eyelashes trembled slightly at the corner of her eye.

Just as she was about to encourage herself, she felt Xie Wei's palm appear before her, with a bracelet in his palm. It had no ostentatious decorations, only a red stone in the center.
