Chapter 166 Temple

The voice that came through the phone was a gentle smile; it was Bai Shiying.

"Hmm? Is there something you need, Qianqian?"

"Can't I call you if there's nothing wrong?" Bai Shiying asked in a resentful tone, and one could imagine that Bai Shiying on the other end of the line was deliberately asking this question.

"I'm not like some people who don't even reply to messages—that's just too much!"

Hearing her say that, Xie Weicai realized that he hadn't replied to Bai Shiying's message from last night.

"I forgot to reply, it's my fault."

I was busy cooking in the kitchen when I saw her message. It wasn't anything particularly urgent, so I thought I'd chat later, but I forgot.

Are you taking a shower right now?

Cultivators have very sensitive hearing; she could hear the sound of water hitting the ground on Xie Wei's end, as well as the ethereal sound produced by the phone's speaker.

"yes"

As soon as he finished speaking, Xie Wei saw a video call request pop up on his phone and rejected it without even thinking.

"Hmm~" came a dissatisfied voice from the other end of the phone.

Xie Wei smiled helplessly, "They're getting bolder and bolder, even daring to act like hooligans now."

"How can you trust someone if you're not bold and thick-skinned?" Bai Shiying seemed quite proud of herself in that tone.

"Then I'll have to reject your advances," Xie Wei joked.

"I was wrong, but I'll do it again next time."

...

As dawn broke and the sky gradually turned a pale white, Bai Shiying's purple Pagani appeared in front of Xie Wei's house.

Xie Wei looked helplessly at Bai Shiying, who was waiting at his door.

A loose braid hangs on one side of her shoulder, she wears a pure white knitted vest, a purple knitted cardigan over it, high-waisted Hong Kong style flared jeans with slits, and white loafers, leaning against a Pagani.

Sweet and elegant

The two had agreed to go to Lingshan. Although they hadn't set a time, the early morning light seemed a bit too early. Xie Wei had reason to suspect that the girl was doing it on purpose.

There was no other way, so he took her into the living room and asked her to wait a while while he went upstairs to change his clothes.

Bai Shiying sat on the sofa, looking at the tea table next to the main seat. She could imagine that Xie Wei usually sat there making tea and reading books.

"What are you doing here?" The voice came from upstairs.

Bai Shiying looked up and saw Su Tang leaning against the railing with her hands under her head. "Woke up so early!"

"I got up to use the restroom and happened to see it."

Actually, it was a few people upstairs who didn't sleep who saw Bai Shiying come over, and learned from Lin Qingying that she was Xie Wei's first love, so they sent her to gather information.

"What's going on? You're moving in?"

No, I'm still pursuing him.

"Given your current situation, Brother Xingzhi actually didn't agree!"

"I haven't confessed yet," Bai Shiying said matter-of-factly.

"Okay, you can continue. I'm going back to my room to catch up on my sleep." Seeing how much Bai Shiying was enjoying herself, Su Tang lost interest and stretched before going upstairs.

After Xie Wei changed his clothes, the two went out.

"Get in the car!" Bai Shiying tossed her head smartly, called out, opened the car door, and got in.

Xie Wei glanced at Bai Shiying. She was clearly a little girl in high school, and would cry and whine when she saw him beating someone on the rooftop. But now she acts like a mature and domineering woman.

After breakfast, the two drove up to Lingshan Mountain. There was a hotel and restaurant in the middle of the mountain, just across the road from the temple, and the parking lot was also built there.

The two parked their car and entered the temple.

It's not a holiday now, so there are only a handful of people coming to the temple; most of those coming and going are monks.

The layout of Lingshan Temple is no different from that of other mountain temples.

From the inside out is the Sutra Repository, the main hall along with the side halls on both sides, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Drum Tower and the Bell Tower on either side of the Hall of Heavenly Kings, and finally the Mountain Gate Hall.

The only difference is that Lingshan Temple has two gardens, east and west, located behind the Drum Tower and Bell Tower, which are places for tourists to enjoy the scenery and rest.

Xie Wei and Bai Shiying met an unexpected monk by the pond.

It was that enlightened high monk in coarse cloth and gray robes.

When the monk saw Xie Wei and his companion, he walked towards them.

"We've been waiting for you two for quite some time."

"Master, I apologize for disturbing you," Xie Wei said.

The high monk shook his head, about to say something but then stopped.

"Grandmaster Uncle" was actually a passing young monk greeting the monk.

The monk simply nodded in acknowledgment of their greeting.

"Gentlemen, this is not a suitable place for idle chatter. Please come with me," the high monk said.

The two followed him into a meditation room in a side hall. The room was simply furnished with red walls on the bottom and white walls on the top. Apart from a tea table and a few cushions, there was nothing else inside.

The high monk was brewing tea. Unlike other monks who held prayer beads in their hands, he simply sat cross-legged on the round mat, watching the water gradually boil.

"Did the master know that the two of us would come today?" Bai Shiying asked.

"Heavenly secrets must not be revealed."

"Then why did you suddenly come down the mountain?"

“If I hadn’t come, the person next to you would probably have insisted,” the high monk said helplessly.

Upon hearing this, Xie Wei looked apologetic, unconsciously scratched the tip of his nose, gave an awkward smile, and let the matter drop.

"The water is ready," the high monk said as he brewed the tea.

"When you came last time, the peach blossoms were in full bloom, and you didn't have time to appreciate them. This time, the osmanthus flowers in the West Garden are in full bloom, so you can go and take a look."

Xie Wei and Lin Qingying nodded. They had come with the intention of sightseeing, so they would naturally wander around.

After chatting for a while, the two left the meditation room and went to the West Garden to admire the scenery of the temple.

Before you even arrive at Xiyuan Garden, the fragrance of osmanthus blossoms fills the air, instantly lifting your spirits and making you feel intoxicated by it.
