Chapter 181 Rainy Night

After Xie Wei left, Black Rose let out a breath, feeling somewhat nervous.

Her state was observed by the three people behind her. They exchanged glances, all with faint smiles, but none of them said anything. Who would dare to expose their boss's secret?

But these three had been with Black Rose for so long, how could she not know what they were thinking? She gave them a stern look.

The three said they had something to do and left in a hurry.

When Xie Wei got home, he loosened his collar and casually took off his suit jacket, placing it on the sofa.

Zheng Qi stood behind him. Perhaps it had been too long since they last met, but the events of today made him feel that his young master had changed quite a bit.

"Spread the word about my meeting with the Rose Gang today. The more people who know, the better," Xie Wei instructed.

"Understood," Zheng Qi replied, snapping out of his reverie.

Although he didn't know Xie Wei's purpose in coming to Nancheng, nor could he guess Xie Wei's intentions, he unconditionally obeyed Xie Wei's orders; that was the rule.

After Zheng Qi left, Xie Wei looked at the cigarettes and tea on the table. They were taken from the Rose Gang, who said they were a gift for meeting.

Xie Wei glanced at them and saw that they were all top-quality goods, some of which were even specially supplied.

He looked away, thinking of that woman, Black Rose.

He couldn't understand what this woman meant. She was being teased, yet she wasn't angry and even gave him such an expensive gift.

Is he an idiot?

But would the leader of a gang be an idiot?

As dusk fell, it started to rain outside.

The rain in the southern part of the city is like this; it always catches you off guard and is unpredictable.

The rain in the southern part of the city is different from that in the capital. Most of the time, it's more thunder than rain, with fine, continuous raindrops that make the air very humid.

But this rain seemed to be God trying to hold onto the last days of autumn; the thunder was loud, the raindrops were large, and it was accompanied by strong winds, making it seem even more intense.

Most people dislike rainy days and the feeling of getting wet, as it disrupts their daily lives.

I feel that rainy days are perfect for staying at home, listening to the rain outside, and doing what I want to do.

Xie Weihao stretched and yawned. He neither hated nor liked rainy days, and they didn't affect him much.

After reaching the Innate Realm, one's control over spiritual power will be stronger, allowing it to cover the area around the body and form a barrier to deflect rainwater.

After several breakthroughs and refinements, the impurities in their bodies were almost completely eliminated, and dirt, viruses, and other filth could no longer get close to them.

This is why most cultivators above the Innate level prefer to spend time cultivating rather than spending time on washing up.

However, there are also many like Xie Wei who, although they are cultivators, still enjoy the pleasures of life in the secular world.

I wonder if practicing Chaos in this kind of weather will be twice as effective?

Xie Wei thought to himself as he looked at the torrential rain outside.

In the rain, in an ordinary rented room, a man sat on the edge of the bed, smoking a cigarette, anxiously waiting for a phone call he hadn't yet dialed. A white robe lay casually on the bedside table beside him.

Upon closer inspection, there were strange black patterns on the hood of the robe, somewhat resembling ancient dragon totems, yet with differences; the style on the hood seemed more evil and fierce.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door of the rented apartment.

Who is it?

No one answered. The man frowned, finished his cigarette, casually tossed it on the ground, stomped on it to extinguish the remaining embers, and hung up the phone the moment he stood up.

When I got to the door, I asked again.

Still, no one answered him.

He clicked his tongue and opened the door. A gust of wind rushed into the rented room, stopping the heavy rain under the eaves, but there was no one outside.

The man peeked out again, looking left and right, but found nothing unusual.

He didn't pay much attention, perhaps he misheard the sound of the wind hitting the door, or perhaps it was a prank by the neighbor's child.

After returning to the bedside, the man picked up his phone again and dialed the number he had just used.

After what seemed like an eternity, a busy tone was heard before the call was finally connected.

"I was busy just now," a deep voice came from the other end of the phone. "Do you have any news?"

"Hello?"

"Hello?"

...

The only sound in the empty rented room was shouting from the other end of the phone. The man had fallen to the side of the bed at some point, his body stiff, his hands clutching his neck, veins bulging, his face deathly pale, and he was not breathing.

On the apartment building opposite the rented house, two people were standing, looking through the window of the rented house at what was happening inside.

Despite the raging wind and rain outside, the two were unaffected by the weather. The rain and wind seemed to be guided, and the two were not affected at all.

"The traitor has been dealt with, let's go," a ruthless female voice came from within the white robe. "Lord White Tiger is still waiting for us."

"As expected, letting you, Sick Cat, handle this matter was the right choice," a man in a white robe adorned with flamboyant decorations said with a grin.

The words had barely left his lips when a black dagger was pressed against his chest. The woman beside him said coldly, "If you say those two words again, you'll end up like everyone else in this room."

The man raised his hand, took two steps back, and still smiled. "Alright, alright, it's bringing disaster, bringing disaster."

Upon hearing the man's words, the woman, who was known for bringing misfortune, sheathed her dagger. Without even glancing at the man, she quickly took a few steps, jumped off the apartment building, and landed steadily.

The man didn't say anything more and jumped down.

Just as the two were about to leave, they heard a voice coming from behind them.

"Hey! What are you two doing?" A man wearing a black studded jacket, with a punk hairstyle, and holding a black samurai-style umbrella called out to the two.
