Chapter 193 Explosion

On a night in the southern part of the city, groups of two or three migrant workers, having just finished their shifts, walk along the roadside, heading to a food stall for a warm drink.

Long ago, the situation in the southern part of the city was not as clear as it is now. Back then, people would probably go straight home after work, and they wouldn't have the same thoughts as they do now.

The current five-way balance of power can be considered a different kind of peace.

However, if you look closely, you can still notice that there are fewer people out on the streets at night these past few weeks.

A gust of cold wind blew by, and a passerby sneezed.

This was followed by a complaint: "Damn it! The weather this year is so weird."

His companion next to him looked up at the sky at a 45-degree angle and exclaimed, "Winter is here, but can spring be far behind?"

"Damn! Look at your act!" the man said with a laugh, putting his hand on his neck.

The two of them walked into the convenience store on the side of the road.

Meanwhile, inside a private box at an underground boxing ring.

“I am Kim Chung-min’s younger brother, and my name is Kim Jung-yeon,” Kim Jung-yeon greeted casually. “I’ve heard so much about you, Mr. [Businessman].

The merchant didn't care about the other party's casual tone or identity. The fact that the other party was there meant that they were someone who had been arranged to come for the transaction, and that was enough.

The merchant took out the medicine, which was in a test tube, and placed it on the table.

Kim Jung-yeon's eyes lit up when he saw the item. He then noticed that there were only two people there, and glanced at the bodyguards behind him. He rolled his eyes and said casually.

"[Mr. Businessman] Actually, this product originally came from our Korea, but it accidentally ended up in your hands."

...

"As long as your sect returns all the technology and the results of its refinement to us, we will not hold it against you, and we can even cooperate." Kim Jung-yeon continued speaking as if he did not notice the awkward atmosphere, and still looked generous.

"Pfft!" Standing behind the "Merchant," the "Madman" couldn't help but burst out laughing.

The businessman stood up without saying a word and stood on the madman under everyone's gaze.

The madman slowly walked forward, twisting his shoulders and neck. Several bodyguards immediately protected Kim Jung-yeon upon seeing his posture.

The madman just grinned, not taking the people blocking his way seriously.

Sensing the aura emanating from the "madman," as if facing a ferocious beast, they couldn't help but swallow hard.

Within minutes, several bodyguards lay dead around the "madman," with multiple bloodstains on the ground. Kim Jung-yeon had witnessed everything that had happened; the blood all came from the bodyguards lying on the ground.

Looking at the blood on his hands, the "madman" seemed even more excited. He sniffed it, then showed a look of disgust, and casually picked up the kettle on the table to wash himself repeatedly.

Kim Jung-yeon, who was standing against the wall, had wet his pants and looked at the person in front of him with a look of horror.

"I really don't know why Kim Chung-min sent such an idiot like you. Go back and tell your brother that our cooperation with the Kim family conglomerate is canceled," the businessman said coldly. After seeing that the madman had finished washing up, he left.

Meanwhile, on the highway, a black Pagani was speeding along, already reaching speeds of over 140 miles per hour, and that speed was still increasing.

Zhao Yujin was clearly not in a good mood; her lips were pursed and her eyes were still simmering with anger.

After passing through the tunnel, we arrived at the western district. After driving for a few more minutes towards the center, the Pagani, whose tires were practically sparking, finally slowed down.

Zhao Yujin exhaled, as if releasing the anger in her heart along with the breath.

Suddenly she seemed to hear a sound, a "beep beep beep" sound, which grew faster and faster.

As if realizing something, Zhao Yujin quickly stopped the car and tried to kick the door open, but found that he couldn't get any strength in it.

There's something wrong with that drink!

Without a moment's hesitation, he quickly opened the car door and jumped out.

"Beep beep beep beep..."

The black Pagani exploded on the highway in the dark, like a grenade with the pin pulled.

It caused a loud bang.

"boom!"

Xie Wei was startled when he arrived at his doorstep.

What happened?

"Young Master, the sound seems to be coming from the highway on the other side of the mountain," the person on duty said.

"Let's go see what's going on," Xie Wei said, then opened the door and went inside.

A short while later, Zheng Qi returned.

"For some unknown reason, a car exploded in the middle of the road, and a woman was found unconscious about 100 meters away from the car," Zheng Qi said, describing what they had seen.

"Hmm," Xie Wei replied indifferently, without much emotion. He wasn't a good person to the unconscious person, so he naturally didn't have any overly compassionate thoughts.

"..."

Seeing that Zheng Qi had not yet left, Xie Wei looked up and asked, "Is there anything else?"

"That person seems to be the eldest daughter of the Zhao family." Given the relationship between the Zheng family and the Xie family, Zheng Qi naturally knew that the Zhao family and the Xie family were not on good terms now, but there were rumors that the eldest daughter of the Zhao family was special, and Xie Wei had once taken action for Zhao Yujin.

Although that's what they say, rumors are just rumors, and no one can tell if they're true or false. He couldn't make up his mind either, so he could only tell Xie Wei the actual situation and see what he did.

When Xie Wei heard Zhao Yujin's name, he paused for a moment while holding the water bottle, then resumed normal operation and poured himself a glass of water.

After listening to Zheng Qi's words, he rubbed his fingertips on the rim of the cup for a while before getting up and walking towards the door.

Seeing Xie Wei's actions, Zheng Qi realized that the rumors were true.

Xie Wei was unaware of Zheng Qi's thoughts. He believed that even if he disregarded past ties, he still owed Zhao Yujin a favor.

She did contribute to the Zhao Hongbo incident, so this is just her way of repaying a favor.

Xie Wei arrived at the scene of the "car accident" and saw Zhao Yujin lying unconscious to the side.

She was still wearing the same black dress she had worn when I saw her that morning, only now it was torn and squeezed due to the explosion.

Seemingly caught in the aftershocks of the explosion, Xie Wei squatted down and, using his nursing knowledge, made a rough assessment. He estimated that one of his feet had been burned and scratched, perhaps from running too slowly; one of the wounds was even exposed to the flesh.

The other one wasn't much better; it had a swollen bump, probably from a sprain, and the exposed skin had some wounds.

Her arms were also injured. She brushed aside her hair, which was covering her face, and there weren't any major wounds. She was covered in dust and looked quite disheveled.

A hint of heartache flashed in Xie Wei's eyes.

Zhao Yujin felt dizzy and vaguely aware that her body was being lifted up. She tried to open her eyes but couldn't. Her eyelids were so heavy that she could only vaguely see a figure that looked like Xie Wei.

Xiao Xingzhi, are you here to pick me up?

Thinking of this, Zhao Yujin let herself faint in his arms.

I had a dream in a daze...

P.S.: The next chapter is Zhao Yujin's recollection, just adding a few details.
