Chapter 197 Zhao Kui, Traitor

After meeting Xiong Shanjing at Tianrui Manor, Zhao Yujin encountered an annoying person.

This person was Zhao Kui, the son of her second uncle.

"Big sister, long time no see!" Zhao Kui was dressed in a loose white suit, looking like a beast in human clothing.

Zhao Yujin frowned upon seeing Zhao Kui, but ignored him.

"My eldest sister went to Nancheng alone without telling anyone; she's going to break the hearts of the family," Zhao Kui said as he walked towards Zhao Yujin. "She came to this dangerous place, Nancheng, without even telling us first. We could have sent people to protect her."

What a hypocrite!

Zhao Yujin felt disgusted by Zhao Kui's words.

When Zhao Kui was less than half a meter away from Zhao Yujin, Zhao Yujin pulled out a gun from somewhere and, with lightning speed, pressed it against Zhao Kui's neck.

Zhao Yujin said coldly, "Just say what you want to say, don't disgust people like this."

Upon seeing Zhao Yujin's gun, Zhao Kui's expression first turned cold, then he immediately reverted to a playful grin, raising his hands and slowly backing away.

"Big sister, what did you do in the south of the city? Why don't you tell me about it?"

"This is none of your business. Get lost while I'm in a good mood!" Zhao Yujin's voice was as cold as before, even colder than the weather in Nancheng.

"No way, you're practically the boss now. I've just arrived in Nancheng, isn't it a bit much if I don't even offer you a drink?" Zhao Kui still acted shamelessly.

Zhao Yujin had other matters to attend to back in the West District, but seeing the other party's current attitude, she knew that if she didn't give him a proper welcome, things would never end. However, the other party hadn't done anything wrong, so she couldn't do anything to him.

The Zhao family is, after all, a large family, and they do have rules and regulations.

Zhao Yujin took him to a bar in the North District that she frequented, and asked Zhao Yi to bring a bottle of her usual drink to entertain Zhao Kui.

Seeing that the guests had arrived and the drinks had been arranged, Zhao Yujin prepared to leave.

"If your older sister isn't drinking, could it be that she's put something in the wine?" Zhao Kui said casually.

Seeing Zhao Kui say this, Zhao Yi stepped forward and explained on Zhao Yujin's behalf, "Miss has something to do tonight, how about I drink this glass of wine with the Second Young Master?"

Zhao Kui kicked the edge of the table, causing it to shift slightly, and roared, "What are you, daring to bark at me like that?"

Zhao Yi wanted to say something, but Zhao Yujin stopped her. Then a gunshot rang out, and a bullet crater appeared on Zhao Kui's sofa.

"Watch your mouth. Anyone who insults me again won't be so lucky next time," Zhao Yujin warned.

"Yes, yes, yes." Seeing that Zhao Yujin was really angry, Zhao Kui's momentum immediately decreased, and he swallowed the wine in his hand in one gulp.

Feeling somewhat irritated, Zhao Yujin finished the glass of wine on the table and left the tavern, telling the Zhao family members from the South City to wait in the North District.

Only Amber and two others knew that Zhao Yujin was Black Rose; she hadn't told the Zhao family in Nancheng, for one should always be wary of others.

"Zhao Yujin, you madman, cherish your last moments of triumph." Zhao Kui's eyes were filled with gloom as he looked in the direction Zhao Yujin had left.

...

"You know what happened next," Zhao Yujin briefly described the events of yesterday to Xie Wei, omitting the reason why she rushed to the West District overnight.

After explaining the situation, Zhao Yujin took a piece of cut apple from the fruit plate and put it in her mouth.

"So that's how it is," Xie Wei said, understanding dawning on him. When he met Zhao Yujin at the manor, the other party had a strong spiritual energy around her, which meant that she was a cultivator, and her cultivation level was not low.

But after the explosion, when he saw her again, her spiritual power had become almost nonexistent, no different from that of a Body Tempering Realm cultivator.

He initially thought Zhao Yujin was involved in the matter of the medicine, otherwise how could there be such a difference in spiritual power?

But upon closer reflection, no matter how potent the medicine is, it cannot elevate an ordinary person in the Body Tempering Realm to that level.

The reason, it turns out, is that someone has given him a drug that seals his spiritual power.

No wonder they ended up in such a sorry state.

"Potions that seal spiritual power aren't cheap, your second uncle really went for it," Xie Wei commented simply.

The potion that seals spiritual energy is a product from the United States. Due to its extremely low success rate, coupled with a mysterious explosion that destroyed everything in the laboratory, there are no more than ten of these products remaining in the world.

Buying such a thing is no easy feat; it requires both financial resources and connections. The Zhao family shouldn't have any overseas connections now.

Moreover, this item is considered a prohibited item in China, so getting it in would be another problem.

Are they truly "family" who would risk everything to kill someone? Thinking about this, Zhao Yujin slowed down her chewing of the apple, a touch of sadness settling in her heart.

Seeing that Zhao Yujin was in a bad mood, Xie Wei tried to change the subject again: "Don't think too much, let's solve the problem at hand first."

"To be able to accurately intercept you in Tianrui and know your favorite bars and drinks, your underlings are a bit shady."

"I'm afraid that the moment you stepped into Nancheng, Zhao Qiwen in the capital would already know that your every move in Nancheng is under his surveillance..."

Seeing Zhao Yujin's thoughtful expression, Xie Wei knew that he had said enough. After all, it was a family matter, and it would be impolite to say anything more.

After telling Xie Wei about what happened last night, Zhao Yujin realized that there was a traitor among his subordinates.

In order to avoid being discovered by Zhao Qiwen that she had come to Nancheng ahead of time, she did not bring any people from the capital, but used people from the Zhao family in Nancheng. So the problem arose with the Zhao family in the whole city.
