Chapter 32 Good Stuff

"That's it? A stone whose spiritual energy is about to dissipate can be called a good thing? Xie Lan, are you nearsighted?" Xie Wei couldn't help but complain to Xie Lan when he saw this thing.

"Stupid Xie Wei, take a good look again, use your mental power to investigate," Xie Lan said unhappily as Xie Wei complained about her.

"Hmm?" Xie Wei used his mental power to probe as Xie Lan instructed.

This exploration revealed that the stone contained a hidden world within it. Although the spiritual energy stored inside had almost completely dissipated, it was actually different from ordinary spirit stones.

Ordinary spirit stones are formed by absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, but this one in front of us is clearly the result of someone creating a small cave inside the stone to store spiritual energy.

'These spirit stones can not only store spiritual energy and quickly replenish it when one's own spiritual energy is depleted, but they can also be used to forge spiritual weapons,' Xie Lan said with a hint of pride.

'How could such a good thing end up here, especially after the male protagonist left?' Xie Wei was somewhat incredulous. 'Something's not right, something's definitely not right.'

"Something's not right, my foot! If this thing weren't so small, even the chosen one wouldn't want it. Do you think you could have gotten a good deal?" Xie Lan's tone was rather exasperated.

Xie Wei wanted to argue further, but then he saw the auctioneer introducing the stone: "According to our appraiser, it seems to be a carving from a certain dynasty; it's too old to tell from modern times."

After a pause, the auctioneer slowly said, "But don't underestimate this item. It has the power to attract wealth, boost morale, and ward off evil spirits."

"Without further ado, let's begin the auction. The starting price is..."

The moment the words were spoken, there was complete silence; you could hear a pin drop.

No matter how much the auctioneer embellished the stone, to ordinary people it's just a stone. If it has any distinguishing features, it's that it's rather ugly. No one would want to spend money to buy an ugly-looking stone to put in their home.

Judging from the scene, the auctioneer knew that this auction was going to fail again. This item had already failed to sell four or five times before being brought out tonight as the last one to appear.

Just as the auctioneer was about to announce that the item had failed to sell, a numbered paddle was raised.

The one raising the paddle was Xie Wei. He thought that even if not many people bought, the auctioneers would at least find a few people to put on a show. Xie Wei wanted to wait until those people finished shouting before he made his own bid, otherwise he would look silly.

As a result, Xie Wei waited for a long time but the auctioneer was about to bring down the hammer and announce that the item had failed to sell. Xie Wei hurriedly raised his paddle, but on the surface he still pretended to be calm.

The auctioneer instantly put on a smile, quickly brought down the gavel, and announced that Xie Wei had won the bid, without even going through the formalities, as if afraid that Xie Wei would change his mind.

When Xie Wei raised the sign, the beauties beside him all looked at him with puzzled expressions. Because of their cultivation, all three of them could tell that it was a spirit stone whose spiritual energy was about to be completely depleted, and they didn't believe that Xie Wei couldn't see it.

Xie Wei smiled and said, "I'll make you something nice then."

Xie Wei wasn't bragging; the book "Chaos" contains methods for refining artifacts. When Xie Wei bought that stone, he already had a plan for how to use it.

Seeing Xie Wei's smile, the three of them didn't say anything and smiled back. If Xie Wei was happy, they were happy too.

Actually, Xie Wei was overthinking it. When Xie Wei raised his paddle and bid on the stone, the people in the room didn't show any mocking expressions. Instead, they wondered if they had missed something.

After all, given the Xie family's wealth and influence, Xie Wei might have seen something similar before. Therefore, everyone felt that the stone must be exactly as the auctioneer described, but they just couldn't recognize it.

Having achieved his goal and received an unexpected bonus, Xie Wei, though outwardly still maintaining his stern expression, was clearly in a very good mood, according to those who knew him.

"Brother, are you very happy today? What good thing happened?" Xu Daiwei asked Xie Wei.

"I suppose so," Xie Wei nodded. "A beautiful woman by your side would make anyone happy, wouldn't it?"

Although the three beauties knew that Xie Wei wasn't happy because of this matter, they were still pleased to hear him say such things.

"Third Brother, my car has arrived. I'll head over first." The Lin family's car was parked in front of Lin Qingying.

"Third Brother, you've gone to great lengths today, Mumu, this is a reward." After kissing Xie Wei's cheek, Lin Qingying quickly got into the car and drove away.

Xie Wei was stunned, Li Ning was bewildered, and Xu Daiwei was somewhat angry.

"Ugh! That vixen!" Xu Daiwei stomped her foot and muttered angrily.

"Do...do I...have to do this too?" Li Ning looked at Xie Wei shyly.

Xie Wei quickly realized, "No, no, no, Qingying was just joking. Li Ning, you must not follow her example."

After hearing Xie Wei's words, Li Ning's blushing cheeks gradually returned to normal, and the light in her eyes dimmed slightly.

“Brother (*?????)” Xu Daiwei looked at Xie Wei with eyes that seemed to be about to cry.

Xie Wei could only bend down and rub her hair as a way of comforting her; otherwise, Xie Wei seemed to have no other options.

This time, Xu Daiwei was not satisfied with Xie Wei's head pat. She pulled Xie Wei's tie, pulled her towards her, and then quickly kissed Xie Wei's cheek.

Before Xie Wei could react, she pulled Li Ning into the newly arrived Cullinan. Li Ning glanced at Xie Wei, seemingly surprised.

"Brother, get in the car, let's go home," Xu Daiwei said, waving to Xie Wei as she got into the car.

Xie Wei came to his senses and could only chuckle softly, shake his head, and stride into the car.

The atmosphere on the way home seemed different from when they first arrived. Xie Wei was still sitting in his original seat, while Xu Daiwei shyly moved from next to Xie Wei to sit opposite him, leaning against Li Ning and closing her eyes.
