Chapter 6 Warming the Bed

At this moment, Wang Hu knelt before Xie Wei and Xu Daiwei like a dog, his body trembling slightly.

"I was blind, please forgive my ignorance."

Xie Wei ignored him and casually took a piece of paper to wipe away non-existent bloodstains from his hands.

Watching Xie Wei's actions, Wang Hu trembled violently and cautiously crawled towards Xu Daiwei, wanting to grab her legs and beg for mercy.

As if guessing Wang Hu's thoughts, Xie Wei immediately picked up Xu Daiwei and gently placed her on the ground amidst her gasp. Under Xu Daiwei's questioning gaze, Xie Wei then used his other hand to stab the one-way glass on the ground into Wang Hu's outstretched hand that was trying to touch Xu Daiwei.

"Ah! Ahhh! Ahhhh!" Wang Hu screamed incessantly, clutching his arms.

Seeing Wang Hu's appearance, Xu Daiwei, who had never witnessed such a scene before, leaned closer to Xie Wei in fear.

Before him stood the murderer who had killed his own parents. Despite his fear, he stared intently at Wang Hu's horrific state, as if trying to imprint Wang Hu's current appearance in his eyes so that he could inform his parents in the afterlife.

Ignoring Wang Hu's screams, Xie Wei handed a shard of glass to Xu Daiwei. While Xu Daiwei was still in a daze, Xie Wei quickly grabbed her hand and plunged the glass shard into Wang Hu's other hand.

"Aaaaaahhhhhh...!" The screams of a dead pig filled the room once again.

As expected, the person in Xie Wei's arms trembled noticeably. Xie Wei helped her up completely and looked at her. His lips moved slightly:

"Stay by my side. There will be many more things like this in the future. You need to learn to adapt on your own." Her tone was not as cold as when she spoke to Wang Hu earlier. It was a little softer, but you could still hear a hint of seriousness in it. It was as if she was coaxing him, or as if she was giving him a warning.

Before Xu Daiwei could react, Xie Wei picked her up and strode outside. He told Zheng Qi at the door to clean up the mess.

Xie Wei once said that he was neither dust nor a good person; he was a quagmire, and those around him were inevitably tainted.

He would let the girl go once she was self-reliant and no longer bullied by others. It had nothing to do with romantic feelings; after all, Xie Wei only considered Xu Daiwei a younger sister, and he simply didn't want her to rot in this quagmire. But what Xie Wei didn't know was that whether the girl left or not wasn't up to him.

Back in the car, Xie Wei took a wet wipe and carefully wiped Xu Daiwei's hands, who was still dazed in his arms.

After wiping away the bloodstains, the little girl came to her senses, her eyes immediately turning red. Clutching Xie Wei's clothes, she buried her face in his chest and began to sob. The pressure that had accumulated during this time of seeking revenge for her parents burst forth like a waterfall, a release also fueled by her own panic at her actions.

Xie Wei simply patted the back of the person in his arms without saying anything more. He understood that the little girl would start to grow up after she finished crying.

After the crying stopped, the little girl, with red eyes, buried her head in her chest as if embarrassed, like a little ostrich.

Xie Wei couldn't help but sigh. He knew this little girl wouldn't be a good cosplayer for Kurumi from Genshin Impact; the size simply wasn't right. He gently lifted her head to prevent her from feeling too shy, and softly wiped away the remaining tears from her eyes. Xu Daiwei's eyes no longer held the desolation they had when they first met; now they were full of life, and she looked beautiful.

"Thank you, brother," the girl said slowly, as if encouraged by something.

"Since you're calling me 'brother,' there's no need to say thank you," Xie Wei smiled, patted Xu Daiwei's head, and his gentle demeanor, combined with his outfit today, really made him look like a friendly older brother next door.

"Hmm, does brother like being touched on the head?" Xu Daiwei saw Xie Wei often touching her head and thought he liked this action, so she touched her head again. "But being touched on the head too often will stunt your growth."

Xie Wei was amazed by Xu Daiwei's changes and resilience, so he joked with her, "Then I won't touch her anymore, otherwise our little Wei won't grow tall and won't be able to get married, and she'll blame me."

"No." Xu Daiwei felt a pang of pain in her heart after hearing Xie Wei's words. "I like it when my brother touches my head. He's very gentle." The little girl deliberately avoided bringing up another topic.

Seeing the little girl tilting her head forward with an expectant look in her eyes, Xie Wei had no choice but to pat Xu Daiwei's head again.

The car was filled with warmth, while Zheng Qi had already sent people over to deal with Wang Hu's matter. He secretly marveled at Xie Wei's strength. He had initially thought that even if Xie Wei had cultivated, he wouldn't be that powerful just because he came to discuss business personally, but the aura Xie Wei exuded during his battle in the office clearly indicated that he had opened the door to that other world.

As night fell, Xie Wei and his group returned to their apartment.

Xie Weigang came out of the bathroom after taking a shower and was about to get into bed when he saw a small figure lying on the bed.

She was wearing a pink lace nightgown, but it seemed like it was too small, as the hem only covered her thighs. She was also wearing white knee-high socks underneath, which formed an absolute territory between the socks and the hem. Perhaps she wasn't wearing any underwear, because her breasts looked like they were about to pop out.

Xie Wei felt his blood boil.

The girl, Xu Daiwei, had slipped into Xie Wei's room while he was taking a shower and lay down on his bed. The scent of pine needles on the bed was exactly the same as Xie Wei's. Lying on the bed felt like being embraced by Xie Wei. Thinking of this, Xu Daiwei's face involuntarily turned bright red.

Just then, Xie Wei walked in, and Xu Daiwei took in his shocked expression upon seeing his outfit. She was secretly pleased, thinking that the outfit seemed to work well.
