Chapter 67 "Want to do it".

Chapter 67 Indulging Your Arrogance "I want to do it."

After finishing the game, it wasn't too late yet, so Lin Lexin lay down on the bed and said she wanted to chat with Xie Qingci for a while longer.

The chattering girl was like a little lark, talking non-stop about everything from school anecdotes to entertainment gossip.

Hsieh Ching-Tzu recalled Liang Ching-Chu's previous assessment of Lin Le-Hsin: "She's too noisy. If you spend a day with her, your ears will need a week to recover."

She laughed and said it wasn't that exaggerated.

He looked at her as if she were a naive student, and said to her, "You'll understand once you've spent time with her."

Xie Qingci had already seen a bit of this girl when she last came to Hong Kong Island, but they only spent one night together. She thought that this little girl was indeed a bit talkative, but had a lot of vitality. After spending all these days together, she realized that she really loved to talk.

After talking for an unknown amount of time, Little Lark finally felt sleepy and said drowsily that she couldn't go on anymore and would talk again tomorrow morning.

Xie Qingci chuckled, said okay, and reached out to turn off the light.

The surroundings were plunged into darkness, and soon the sound of steady breathing could be heard beside her. Xie Qingci was not sleepy at all. She closed her eyes and tried to get back into bed for a long time before finally getting up.

She suffers from a bit of neurasthenia, and her sleep quality depends on what she does before bed. The recent exam week depleted her energy reserves, and her sleep quality has been fluctuating lately. In such cases, she usually takes a melatonin pill to help.

As soon as I opened the door, I noticed that the living room lights were off, but the environment wasn't dark; there were flickering shadows dancing on the white walls.

She hesitated for a moment, then walked out of the bedroom into the hallway.

The projector in the center of the living room was turned on, showing "Flipped," a movie she had watched when she came to Hong Kong Island that day, on a huge screen.

She hadn't finished watching it, so she rewound the progress bar and watched it again; it had been playing for about half an hour.

On the sofa facing the curtain, Liang Jingzhuo sank into the soft cushions. Because her back was to her, only her head could be seen leaning against the back of the chair.

The volume of the speaker was turned very low; if you weren't paying attention, you might mistake it for white noise to help you sleep.

Xie Qingci stood at the exit of the corridor for a while. Seeing that he hadn't moved, she assumed he was asleep and was about to go over to find him a blanket to cover him with.

She turned her head and bent down, only to find that the person leaning against the sofa had their eyes open and turned to look at her when they noticed her approach.

A bottle of wine was open on the low table in front of him, and a square glass half-filled with wine was placed to the side.

She paused as she reached for the blanket. "You're not asleep?"

When he came home from get off work, he only took off his tie, watch, and cufflinks. He was still dressed in a shirt and trousers, but his demeanor looked more casual.

He replied, "No."

After saying that, he reached out and pulled the person standing by the sofa to sit on his lap.

His palm rested on her waist, against the silky fabric of her nightgown, and he gently stroked it twice before softly asking, "What did you do today?"

They've had so little time alone lately; most of the time they just kiss before bed and chat for a bit.

But Liang Jingzhuo knew that Xie Qingci didn't sleep well, so they wouldn't chat for too long. After a brief chat, he would hold her and go to sleep.

The sofa was soft and slumped, and his long legs supported him, making Xie Qingci's position slightly higher. She held his face in her hands, stroked the stubble on his chin with her thumb, thought for a moment, and answered seriously: "I went shopping with Lexin in the morning, had lunch outside at noon, and watched two movies in the afternoon."

When he got home, they had only just returned.

Liang Jingzhuo leaned back against the pillow, quietly watching her and listening to her speak.

His soft palm brushed against her chin, like a feather tickling her heart. He raised his hand and took hers, kneading it gently in his palm. "Ms. Zhuang said the first draft of the wedding dress design is out. Have you seen it?"

The three wedding dress designers I met in Hong Kong Island last time have recently produced their first drafts. Ms. Zhuang sent them to Xie Qingci the day before yesterday. The designs, which incorporate her personal style, are all very beautiful, but Xie Qingci is still undecided.

She nodded, "I've looked at it, but Mommy and I can't make up our minds."

Ms. Zhuang and Ms. Zhou were also overwhelmed by the choices, so they asked Lin Lexin to take a look. Their conclusion was that if they really couldn't decide, they should just take them both.

Even if they take them all, there will still be three sets, but they are only having two weddings. What are they going to do with the extra set?

Xie Qingci felt it was unnecessary.

Ms. Zhuang had initially shown the design to Liang Jingzhuo, who felt it was unnecessary to use female physiological advantages as a selling point. However, with the clever embellishments, his opinion was changed.

He thought they all suited Xie Qingci quite well.

"What do you want to do?" He kissed her palm. "Why not just have both?"

The lip print on her palm tickled a little. Xie Qingci giggled twice and said, "It tickles."

He clenched his fist and withdrew it, continuing, "There are only two weddings, and we won't have enough space for one set. What's the point of having an extra one? Just to hang it up and admire it?"

The design and labor costs for one set are already astronomical; it's such a waste.

Liang Jingzhuo was infected by her smile and also smiled, giving her a new idea: "You can wear it when you're doing a travel photoshoot."

Xie Qingci paused for a moment, then realized it was not feasible, "There's not enough time."

The travel photoshoot is scheduled for May, which means there are less than four months left. Considering the time needed for revisions and adjustments along the way, it's unlikely to be completed so quickly.

As soon as she finished speaking, the person in front of her chuckled and placed a kiss on her lips, slightly intoxicated by alcohol. "Then let's make a bet: what if I can get them to finish before then?"

Xie Qingci did the math and realized it was impossible no matter what. "What are we betting on?"

Liang Jingzhuo seemed surprised by her unthinking answer, and whispered a sentence in her ear with a mischievous smile.

The scalding breath and the words that escaped her lips burned her ears, the heat spreading all the way to her heart. She tensed for a moment, pressing down on the unnatural heat rising on her cheeks, and boldly agreed to raise the stakes, "Let's bet."

The person smiling at her nodded twice and replied, "Okay." She reached for her phone, glanced at the time, and made a call.

The wedding planning team leader, who was in charge of liaising with the designer, quickly answered his call and asked him in a warm and friendly manner, "Mr. Liang, is there anything I can help you with?"

He asked, "Are the three designers I'm working with available until May?"

After a moment's hesitation, the reply came: "I'll check, please wait a moment."

In that instant, Xie Qingci knew what he was about to do.

Sure enough, the next second, the reply came that the schedule was currently available.

He looked at her and laughed, raising his eyebrows provocatively. "Then I'll buy it outright. All three wedding dresses must be completed by May. We'll discuss any adjustments later."

The person on the other end paused for a moment, then replied with an "okay".

After hanging up the phone, Xie Qingci was still in shock. "You cheated! I'm not betting with you anymore."

Why would someone bring something like this?

Liang Jingzhuo put down his phone and announced the result: "It's too late. You accepted the challenge and then broke the contract. Do you have no sense of contractual responsibility?"

Sure enough, experience is the best teacher.

Xie Qingci stopped talking to him. Remembering the bet they had just made, she blushed and got up to leave.

She had just lifted her hips when she was pulled back into his arms. "I can't hug you tonight, let me hug you a little longer."

She didn't want to do as he wished, so she said, "I'm going to take a melatonin pill and go to sleep."

As soon as she finished speaking, the person holding her looked up, their brows furrowed. "Why are you taking melatonin again?"

She shrugged helplessly. "There's nothing I can do, I can't sleep."

Liang Jingzhuo knew that she would occasionally take one or two pills when she had a bad night's sleep, but not frequently, so he didn't pay any attention to it.

"Is there any other way to help me sleep besides taking melatonin?"

Xie Qingci fiddled with the buttons on his collar, glanced at him sideways, and mischievously retaliated by leaning on his shoulder and whispering something in his ear.

His breath was as fragrant as orchids, carrying a burst of hot mist that made my ears itch.

Liang Jingzhuo turned his head to look at her, his provocative and arrogant expression showing his complete confidence.

He chuckled softly and nodded gently. "Now?"

Xie Qingci didn't expect him to respond like this. Her flirting, which she thought had exceeded her usual shamelessness, seemed to be in vain to him. Without batting an eye, he took the topic to another level.

"What?! Get away from me!"

A blush crept onto her fair neck. Liang Jingzhuo looked at the slowly rising blush with regret, "Not now, the doctor said you haven't fully recovered yet."

Xie Qingci wanted to crawl into a hole. She had used up all the courage she had in her life, but it all seemed child's play in front of him. She reached out and covered his mouth, saying, "Okay, stop talking."

Even the palms were damp and warm, with a soft, delicate texture and a sweet fragrance that stirred the heart.

Liang Jingzhuo took her hand, pressed it to his lips and kissed it, their body heat soothing each other.

It took a month and a half in total, and I was a little distracted, but the girl sitting on my lap was so soft.

He was verbally responsive, but his body instinctively responded to her deliberate provocation.

Xie Qingci sensed the change first. Her body stiffened for a moment, and she turned to look at him, blinking as if she had caught him red-handed. She asked, "What are you thinking about, President Liang?"

The person in front of her didn't seem embarrassed by her knowing question; his gaze was open yet tinged with a hint of wavering emotion.

His throat felt hot, and his voice involuntarily became several octaves hoarse as he answered her question bluntly: "I want to."

?

!!

Is this something I can say directly?

Xie Qingci's pupils dilated in shock. She glanced in the direction of the guest room, worried that Lin Lexin might suddenly appear, and then raised her hand to cover his mouth. "What are you doing! Lexin is here."

Liang Jingzhuo removed her hand from her mouth. "She can't hear me anyway."

After saying that, he tilted his chin up, held the back of her neck, and kissed her.

He lifted one of her legs, which was sitting sideways, and pushed it aside, changing her position so that she was kneeling on either side of his hips.

Xie Qingci was now in a higher position, her hands resting on his shoulders, her head bowed, accepting and responding.

As the distance closes and the surface is gently pressed and rubbed, the tactile sensation and temperature become clearer.

Xie Qingci suddenly felt the scalding temperature burning her throat, making it dry and sore, and her breathing became slow and trembling involuntarily.

Just as Liang Jingzhuo was about to lose his temper and try to lure the person back to the bedroom, he suddenly heard the sound of a door lock being opened behind him.

Their deep thoughts abruptly stopped, and the two opened their eyes at the same time, their lips still touching, before separating a second later.

Xie Qingci rolled over and fell onto the sofa. The unfinished kiss left glistening moisture on her lips. She wiped it away, quickly straightened her slightly disheveled clothes, sat up straight, and glanced at Liang Jingzhuo beside her.

He seemed somewhat speechless, leaning lazily against the sofa and raising his hand to rub his temples.

Lin Lexin walked out in a daze and saw two people sitting at opposite ends of the sofa, their distance even greater than that between strangers.

She rubbed her eyes and saw the projector. "Huh? You guys are watching a movie?"

She had just turned over and realized that Xie Qingci was gone. She was also a little thirsty, so she decided to get up and get a glass of water.

Xie Qingci smiled and replied, "Yes, do you want to come along?"

As soon as he finished speaking, he received a questioning look.

She gave him a reassuring gesture; given how tired he was, Lin Lexin would most likely refuse the offer.

Unexpectedly, the person being asked only hesitated for a second before agreeing to the invitation, replying, "Okay."

"..."

As the footsteps approached, Liang Jingzhuo glanced at the blanket beside him, picked it up, and draped it around his waist.

Lin Lexin walked over and sat down next to Xie Qingci. She looked at what movie it was and said, "I really like this one too! I've watched it several times."

As she spoke, she glanced at Liang Jingzhuo sitting on the other side, her gaze lingering on the blanket covering his waist and hips. "Brother, why are you covered up so thickly?"

The weather on Hong Kong Island has been quite nice lately; it hasn't gotten that cold yet, has it?

Liang Jingzhuo glanced at her. "I'm cold."

After she finished speaking, Lin Lexin paused for a moment before replying, "Oh."

The three of them sat together in an awkward atmosphere and watched the movie. Lin Lexin, on the other hand, watched with great interest, occasionally making a few comments, and then happily eating a bag of snacks while holding it in her arms.

Xie Qingci got up to go to the restroom halfway through. Lin Lexin glanced back and watched her disappear from sight before quietly moving to Liang Jingzhuo's side.

Liang Jingzhuo remained lazily seated in the corner, his gaze casually fixed on the curtain. Seeing this, he slightly turned his head to look over. "What are you doing?"

Lin Lexin looked up again in the direction of the bathroom, and after confirming that Xie Qingci had not returned, she whispered, "Brother, do you want to see a Chinese medicine doctor?"

Liang Jingzhuo frowned, thinking he had misheard. "What?"

Lin Lexin sighed, "You feel cold in this weather? I suggest you get some treatment."

Although it wasn't said explicitly, the expression on his face practically screamed, "I think you're a bit weak."

"..."

Liang Jingzhuo didn't speak. He glanced at her, and only after confirming that her embarrassment under the blanket had subsided did he lift it off and get up to leave. "You should go get your head checked first."

?

Who is it?

I offered a kind suggestion, but I got yelled at. What a waste of her feelings!

Lin Lexin snorted, popped a cookie into her mouth, and turned back to continue watching the movie.

The author's note: Tomorrow, Mr. Liang must personally demonstrate that he doesn't need to see a traditional Chinese medicine doctor.
