Chapter 23 The Gate of Trials

Octavier tossed her long blue hair and, together with the male examiner named Troyes, led the person holding the badge to a gate guarded by soldiers.

"Alright, this is the place."

"Open the door."

"Yes, Miss Olive."

The two soldiers responded respectfully and opened the door.

There was an exquisite magic circle on the ground, and next to it was a special device.

Troyes adjusted his glasses and stepped forward first.

"Everyone, this magic circle is the teleportation circle to the Hanging Gardens. Look carefully, and like me, take out the badges given to you and align them with the slots on this device."

After doing this, the magic circle on the ground lit up instantly, and Troy's body disappeared in an instant under a dazzling light.

The surrounding students stared wide-eyed in surprise.

Olive clapped her hands to draw everyone's attention before speaking:

"Alright, everyone, Troyes has already demonstrated. Now line up and take turns using your badges to ascend the Hanging Gardens."

She was the guide for these students, and she wanted to make sure everyone logged in successfully, so Olive's meeting was the last to log in.

...

A flash of light.

Rudy felt a blur before his eyes and found himself on an empty platform.

The teleportation array beneath their feet was exactly the same as the one before.

A captivating fragrance wafted over, and he subconsciously took a few breaths, his eyes immediately lighting up.

All around were European-style buildings.

But unlike on the ground, vibrant flowers bloom everywhere here.

What he smelled was the fragrance of flowers.

Whether it's the streets, the castle, or anywhere else you can see, everything is decorated with flowers.

Moreover, the concentration of elemental forces here is far greater than that on the ground.

Look up at the sky again.

With Rudy's abilities, he could clearly see that the entire Hanging Gardens was shrouded in a transparent magical shield.

"Wow, this place is so beautiful, young master Rudy!"

Michelle was instantly captivated by the flowers, and couldn't help but exclaim in admiration, her face lighting up with excitement.

After all, she's a girl.

It's only natural that they would be interested in flowers and the like.

"Alright, stop sighing. Even the most beautiful scenery gets boring after a while."

Olive stepped out of the teleportation array and said with a smile:

"Now, all of you go and take the formal entrance exam. Your results this time will affect the resources you will receive at the academy in the future, so be on your best."

After saying that, Olive revealed a charming expression, "And one more thing, the student with the best grades will get a private tutoring opportunity from me."

"Oh ho ho!!!"

"I'm definitely taking this reward!"

"I'm ready!"

The boys instantly became incredibly excited, their faces flushed red.

Spending time alone with a beautiful woman is very attractive to young boys.

Also, Olive's identity here is clearly not simple. If we can get on her good side, we can avoid some detours in the Hero Academy in the future.

Olive just mentioned that.

The world is inherently unfair.

This entrance exam will also affect future cultivation resources, so it must be taken seriously.

Rudy was also somewhat looking forward to it; what kind of entrance test would it be?

A short while later.

Olive led the students to a room.

Then, she snapped her fingers.

Suddenly, a door appeared out of thin air next to them.

"This is called the Trial Gate. It was created by the former Hero of Techniques, who imitated the characteristics of a labyrinth."

"From now on, whoever comes out of there first will be number one and will receive my individual guidance."

"The top 10 students will receive a private dormitory room and will be able to eat for free in the college cafeteria for a year."

"Friendly reminder: Each dormitory room has its own special formation that can accelerate your magic cultivation."

"Now, line up and enter the trial gate in order."

Next, following Olive's instructions, all the students, including Rudy, entered the Trial Gate.

Olive closed the door and began the trial.

She pulled out a notebook and stared expectantly at the doorway.

"This is a true test of one's inner self. Who will be the first to pass it?"

"Hey, Troyes, who do you think will come out first?"

In response to Olive's question, Troyes adjusted his glasses and speculated:

“I think that guy named Kane will be the first to come out, after all… his surname is Azorent. Olive, you should have heard of him too, right? This genius Crown Prince has already developed his own divine seal weapon.”

"Moreover, the two identical twins beside him are also quite extraordinary. Their initial divine seal levels are both high."

"Oh, so you think he's a good candidate." Olive's lips curled into a smile. "I think there's someone else who might be the first to step out."

Troyes immediately understood who she was talking about.

"You mean the boy from the Mels family? He has a rare light attribute, the same attribute as the Hero of Magic from hundreds of years ago. He is indeed likely to be the first to pass the trial."

"However, Olive, have you forgotten? Heroes are blessed by the gods, so their hearts are pure, and they can naturally forge ahead and pass through the trials of the mind quickly. But this kid has only awakened the light attribute by luck. As for the strength of his mind, we still need to observe."
