Chapter 24 A Lack of Martial Morality

In Rudy's view, the Gate of Trials is more like a test of the soul.

Upon entering the door, you will see the scene you least want to see, forcing you to confront it.

If one's mind is too fragile, it may collapse or even become despondent.

However, if one successfully overcomes fear, the rewards can be substantial.

There's a saying...

A true warrior dares to face pain and the bleakness of life.

Those who can do this can be called heroes.

Knowing yourself is never an easy thing.

...

As they pondered, the students gradually emerged from the door.

The third place is Kane.

This guy is definitely not simple.

Upon hearing that Rudy was in first place, Kane initially looked surprised, but then his gaze became eager.

Ariel Arnold came in second, which made him subconsciously glance at her a few more times.

The fourth one to appear was Mina, the older of the red-haired twins.

She seems to have a good mental fortitude.

When it came to the 10th one, Michelle ran out and threw herself into Rudy's arms, her eyes brimming with tears.

"Young Master Rudy, that's wonderful! It's an illusion!"

"Michelle, what illusion did you see?" he asked curiously.

"Waaaaah, I saw something super annoying."

The little maid whimpered and hugged him even tighter.

Rudy, feeling helpless, could only reach out and pat her little head to comfort her.

Michelle was genuinely terrified.

After entering the trial gate.

She saw Rudy's icy expression.

Rudy said he didn't need her anymore, that she was just a burden.

For Michelle, being abandoned by Rudy was the most terrifying thing.

Fortunately, she pulled through.

Because Master Rudy would never say such a thing; that person is not Master Rudy!

...

When Michelle came out, her face was deathly pale.

Unfortunately, she dropped out of the top ten.

She walked silently to her sister and Kane's side without saying a word.

I guess he saw something he was afraid of and was traumatized.

Time passed gradually.

By the afternoon, everyone had emerged from the trial gate.

Olive clapped her hands, drawing everyone's attention.

"Alright, everyone, since you have passed through the trial gate, it proves that you have the qualifications to become heroes."

"Next, each of you will drip a drop of your blood into the badge."

"This badge will be your identification in the Hanging Gardens from now on. You will also need it to enter the Hero Academy, otherwise you will be treated as invaders and eliminated."

Following Olive's instructions, Rudy dripped a drop of blood into the badge.

The next second, the badge lit up and transformed into a pattern, merging into the divine seal on the back of the right hand.

With a thought, the badge materialized again and appeared in his hand.

Michelle did as she was told and then exclaimed in surprise.

"That's amazing!"

"Dear students, this badge is very important, so please keep it safe. Also, you must not lend it to others."

Olive adopted a serious expression and continued:

“The badge has many other uses.”

"It has built-in storage space, so you can store some items."

"Furthermore, the badge also has a special communication function. People who are close to each other can exchange a drop of blood and integrate it into the badge to activate its function."

"Finally, there's the issue of dormitory allocation."

"The top 10, follow me; the rest, follow Troyes."

"Um, Ms. Olive, I have a question!" Michelle suddenly raised her hand, looking at her eagerly.

Olive was taken aback for a moment, then waved her hand in a friendly manner.

"Speak, what's the problem?"

Michelle bit her lip and mustered her courage to say:

“Ms. Olive, I am Rudy’s man, so can I not have a separate dormitory? I can share a room with Rudy.”

Mina also raised her fair little hand, looking very serious.

“Ms. Olive, I also have a question. Can two people live in a single dormitory room? My sister Michelle and I have never been separated, so we would like to live together.”

Faced with the two women's questions, Olive glared at Rudy with annoyance before speaking:

"It's up to you. The dorm rooms are quite large. I won't object if you all live together."

“Who wants to live with him? I don’t want to!” Michelle said with a look of disgust, glaring at Rudy.

Rudy: "..."

Michelle's actions left him speechless.

That's so narcissistic.

I never said I wanted to live with you.

It seems this little girl still has a prejudice against him.

Before long, Olive had arranged the dormitory situation, leaving only Rudy and Michelle.

"Um, Ms. Olive, could you tell me about Michelle and my dorm room? Why were we assigned last?"

Rudy couldn't help but ask a question.

He's the number one, shouldn't he be the first one to be assigned to?

"What's the rush? We're almost there."

Olive rolled her eyes at him, then led the two of them around in circles until they finally stopped in front of a luxurious mansion.

"Teacher, are you leading us the wrong way? Is this mansion a dormitory?" Michelle asked, her eyes wide.

“Of course, I live here.” Olive said with a smug look, and went inside first.

"Come on in. From today onwards, you two will be living here. As I said, the first place winner will get my individual tutoring. How about it, are you happy?"
