Chapter 29 The Labyrinth

After composing herself, Michelle returned to the classroom and sat down in her seat.

Kane, who was standing nearby, saw her and immediately spoke with a firm expression:

"I'm sorry, Michelle. I was wrong just now. I shouldn't have used you to test my magic. I've deeply regretted it. Please forgive me!"

Michelle smiled slightly in response to Kane's apology.

She was pleased that Kane was willing to swallow his pride and apologize, so Michelle immediately waved her hand magnanimously.

"Fine, I won't blame you, but I hope you won't use me as an experiment again next time."

Although she had already forgiven him, Michelle couldn't help but emphasize that sentence again.

"Don't worry, it definitely won't happen again next time!" Kane quickly patted his chest. "I promise!"

"Hmph!"

Michelle gave a haughty snort in response, then glanced sideways at Rudy in the back row.

Kid, I've discovered your secret!

But it won't be that easy for you to win me over!

Rudy was completely baffled by her haughty little look.

I simply ignored her, straightened my posture, and prepared to listen to the lesson.

The instructor for this lesson was Troyes, the examiner with glasses.

"Class, please be quiet."

“I am Troyes of the Armed Society, I believe you should already know me.”

"For the next three years, I will guide everyone on how to condense the Divine Seal Armament. I will also teach you how to develop the Divine Seal Armament so that you can graduate smoothly."

"First of all, we have a title for those who hold the Divine Seal: Divine Seal Envoys."

"I believe all of you have already learned about this."

"Only by successfully condensing their own divine seal weapon can a divine seal wielder fight against the demon race."

"There is also a hierarchy among the Divine Seal Messengers."

Those who have not yet condensed a divine seal are called mortals.

"Successfully condensed divine seal weapon - extraordinary level."

"A candidate for hero who can skillfully use divine seal weapons in combat."

"Those who can develop the Divine Seal Armor to its limit, or even evolve the Divine Seal, are at the highest level of hero. The original seven heroes were all at this level."

"In other words, you are all currently at the mortal level. If you haven't been able to condense a divine seal weapon after three years, then I'm sorry, you'll have to leave the academy and seek your own opportunities. (We can't teach you, so please get out of here.)"

As soon as Troyes finished speaking, the very active Radar student immediately raised his hand to ask a question.

"Professor Truva, how exactly do I condense the Divine Seal Armor?"

"Wait a minute, Radar, I haven't finished yet."

Troyes adjusted his glasses and said seriously:

"I'm sure you all know that our Hero Academy has special resources, right?"

"Teacher, I don't know."

One of the students immediately shouted.

Troyes looked embarrassed.

"Um, okay, let me explain."

"Our Brave Academy's most powerful resource is the maze!"

"This maze contains a large number of monsters. Each maze has 100 floors. By conquering the maze, the holder of the divine seal can quickly improve their cultivation."

"Of course, opportunities and dangers coexist."

"If you are ambushed by demons while exploring the dungeon and lose your life, then there will be no trace of you in this world."

"As for the cultivation of the Divine Seal Armor, it can only be completed by using the labyrinth."

"Alright, now follow me, I'll take you to see the first floor."

...

Before long, led by Troyes, the students arrived at the entrance of an ancient cave.

"Everyone, this is the entrance to the Powered Maze."

"Now, please divide into groups of three, and I will take you into each group to try to conquer the first level."

"Professor Troyes, why does it have to be three people?" Kane immediately raised his hand to ask.

“Kane asked a very important question,” Troyes nodded in satisfaction and explained.

"The maze is a very mysterious place. Even now, our Hero Academy still doesn't understand how it was formed."

"The labyrinth has existed for a long time."

"Even the seven heroes who once defeated the Demon King entered the labyrinth to undergo trials and improve their martial arts skills."

"However, the heroes could only pass through 50 floors at most before they could not go any further."

"The 51st floor is very special."

"It contains mysterious power; anyone who steps inside will be instantly annihilated."

"The former hero of magic paid a huge price, even his life, to learn just a little bit of information, so I hope you will take this as a warning and it's best not to enter the 51st floor."

"Getting back to the main point, why did I ask you three to team up? The reason is simple."

"When you enter the maze, you will be given a prompt to choose whether to enter alone or as a group."

"It would be too unsafe for you to go in alone. You are just students and haven't yet condensed your divine seals, so you definitely can't do that."

"If a group of more than four people chooses to enter, the monsters in the maze will be given a berserk power boost and become extremely ferocious."

"To put it this way, you could normally kill a goblin with a single spell. But with the Berserk buff, the goblin not only won't die immediately, it can jump up and bite off a piece of your flesh, making it extremely ferocious."

"A former instructor from the Academy of Heroes ignored warnings and insisted on taking 20 students into the trial. According to the footage recorded by the Echo Stone, they encountered a pitch-black monster while trying to conquer the third floor, and were instantly wiped out."
