Chapter 123 Chapter 123 Ling Ling ran away
It should be about time.
Rum should be dead, right?
Olga calculated the time, then, with the sound of clanging chains, she turned over and grabbed the cell phone on the bedside table.
1:34 p.m.
She opened her messaging app. There were no unread messages.
He opened the communication app again, entered a phone number, and clicked the green call icon at the bottom of the phone interface.
After a brief pause, a small white box popped up on the phone: Call failed.
Olga looked at the top right corner of her phone. Sure enough, the signal indicator had gone from four vertical bars of decreasing height to the words "No Service."
She stared at the phone interface and couldn't help but frowned slightly.
No signal.
This isn't some remote wilderness!
The next second, accompanied by a loud "bang!", a soft warm yellow light came from the doorway not far away and shone into the dark room, causing Olga to squint her eyes uncomfortably.
Someone violently kicked open the locked door of the room.
Olga heard steady footsteps approaching, even though the room was covered with thick carpet.
My eyes finally adjusted to the sudden brightness. A female voice came from the front, seeming to be very interested in the scene before me:
"What a mess, Arthas."
Olga removed her arm from blocking her eyes and opened them. In the darkness, her pupils rapidly dilated to absorb more light. Within those dark pupils, she reflected the figure she had expected.
"Pramya."
Olga propped herself up in bed with one hand, and the movement caused the chain around her neck to make another annoying clanking sound. Olga tugged at the sturdy metal chain, her voice lazily filled with a hint of complaint:
“So slow.”
Pramya smiled and slowly raised her left hand. She seemed to be holding something heavy.
"Because you said I'd wait 'three days' after you'd been out of contact before coming back here to look for you."
Olga finally saw what Pramya was holding in her left hand—a huge axe.
The crazy woman finally raised the axe high and was about to chop off the chain connecting Olga's neck to the head of the bed.
"Wait a moment!"
A split second before the axe struck the chain, Olga gasped in surprise as Pramya stopped the axe mid-air. Then, as Olga watched, she retracted the axe, one hand on her waist, head tilted, and stared at Olga.
"So what do you say we should do?"
The key is definitely not in this apartment. Pramya had just searched outside and confirmed it.
Olga rubbed her cheek with one hand and said, "Go find me some wire, not too thick."
Pramya raised an eyebrow when she heard this. Without saying anything more, she threw the axe on the ground beside her and walked out of the room.
Olga fell back onto the bed, her arms outstretched, staring at the ceiling. If she really let that madman chop her with his axe, the chains would certainly break, but her neck would inevitably suffer some pain.
*
Pramya arrived quickly with a dozen or so pieces of wire, some thick, some thin, some long, some short. Olga suspected she had dismantled a lot of electrical appliances and furniture. She was quite quick.
She dropped the dozen or so wires onto the bed, near Olga's hand, and spread them out with her palm like a deck of cards. Then, with her right hand still able to move, she placed it on her waist, took a step back, and calmly looked at Olga, wondering what she was going to do.
Wire is, of course, used to open locks. Pramya knew this, but she hadn't expected Olga to even know how to do this.
But Olga picked up a piece of wire from a pile of wires at random, as if she had not chosen it specifically.
Then, she bent the end of the wire slightly. Since there was no mirror, she first used the fingertips of one hand to find the keyhole of the metal ring on her neck, and then, using her other hand holding the wire, she groped and inserted the bent wire by feel.
Pramiya couldn't understand the subsequent operations. After all, she didn't have X-ray vision.
Pramya only saw Olga fiddle with the wire a few times, then give it a slight twist. With a click, the metal ring around her neck was released.
She removed the metal ring from her neck, stood up from the bed, and touched the skin on the side of her neck with one hand. The fair, delicate skin was now covered with a circle of red marks, even a little purple, from the long contact with the shackles.
After all, I've been locked up for three days.
Olga didn't take the phone from the bed. She opened the wardrobe nearby and pulled out a set of clothes. Without hesitation, she changed into them right in front of Pramya. It was a simple long-sleeved sweatshirt and a pair of gym shorts.
In the brief moment the door opened, Pramya noticed that the clothes in the closet seemed to have been pre-arranged and neatly arranged by color scheme. That was why Olga had been able to pull out an outfit so easily. Clearly, this couldn't have been her own work.
*
When Olga entered the brightly lit living room from her room, she saw a man lying on his back on the ground. He didn't appear to have suffered any injuries, and although his eyes were closed, his chest was still rising and falling steadily.
It's Jinpei Matsuda. Still alive.
Pramya, who followed Olga out of the bedroom, followed her gaze and saw Matsuda Jinpei lying unconscious on the ground. She suddenly laughed in a very presumptuous and arrogant manner.
"This man is really the epitome of good-looking but useless."
Obviously, Pramya was referring to Matsuda Jinpei, who was easily knocked down by her with a single knife move as soon as they met.
Olga's eyes only casually glanced at Matsuda Jinpei. She made no comment on Pramya's ridicule, but walked to a cabinet, squatted down, opened a drawer, and seemed to be searching for something inside.
It was impossible for Rei Furuya to stay by Olga's side and watch over her all the time, just as it was impossible for Olga to stay by Rei Furuya's side and watch over him all the time.
Well, while Olga was locked up, at least someone had to take care of her daily life, for example, by delivering takeout to her room every day.
So, Matsuda Jinpei, who had been idle recently due to internal strife in the organization, was lured over by Furuya Rei.
Being a food delivery driver wasn't a difficult job. And since Olga was locked in the room, Matsuda Jinpei wasn't afraid at all.
Unfortunately, Matsuda Jinpei never expected that after less than three days of working as a takeaway deliveryman, a crazy blonde woman suddenly rushed in and, without a word, struck him with a knife, knocking him unconscious. She even called him "useless" at the end.
Is it possible that he was still effective before Olga gave him that strange medicine?
Although if he hadn't taken the medicine, he would have been blown to death on the Ferris wheel... Although even before taking the medicine, he probably wouldn't have lasted more than three moves from that crazy woman... but he wouldn't have been knocked down in one encounter!
Ignoring the unconscious Matsuda Jinpei, Olga rummaged through the drawers and soon found her cell phone.
When she was locked in her room, she had been using another phone that Rei Furuya had given her. He knew everything Olga browsed, played, and contacted on that phone. So she definitely wouldn't be carrying that phone with her now.
Pramya saw Olga insert a piece of wire into the card slot of the phone. It seemed to be the same wire she had used to unlock the phone. After the card slot popped out, she took out the data card and casually threw the phone to the ground. Then,
Pramya saw her return to the bedroom she had been in. A moment later, accompanied by the sound of something heavy scraping against the carpet, Olga emerged from the bedroom, dragging the huge axe she had brought with her.
Pramya put one hand on her waist and raised her eyebrows, then she saw Olga lift the axe, which was not light at all, with her left hand and turn the not sharp back downwards.
"Bang!"
The axe came down hard.
In an instant, spider-web-like cracks spread across the screen of the poor latest model phone starting from the middle, and many fragments broke out.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Several more hits followed, until the wooden floor beneath the phone had sunk into a large dent, with cracks spreading outward from the phone's location. The phone was completely shattered, with only a few pieces of metal circuitry still holding the fragments together.
"Bang—"
Olga threw the axe aside. She raised her head and wiped the sweat from her forehead with her forearm. Then, she turned her head nonchalantly and smiled at Pramya, "Let's go."
Pramya didn't say much and followed the madman quietly.
*
Elsewhere, Furuya Rei and Vermouth drove their car as fast as they could, out of the range of Akai Shuichi's sniper. Now, neither Rum's convoy nor the police convoy could be seen at all.
To be honest, Vermouth really didn't like riding in Bourbon's car. For an old lady like her, Bourbon's driving was still too exciting.
As he stepped on the accelerator to the bottom and drove against the flow through the one-way street of the commercial district that was busy on weekends, Vermouth already felt dizzy.
After the car finally stabilized, Vermouth relaxed her grip on the roof handle a little.
Fortunately, she remembered to fasten her seat belt halfway through the journey, otherwise she would have flown away.
Just after breathing a sigh of relief, Vermouth was about to say something when suddenly, a short beep came from her cell phone.
With her hair slightly disheveled due to high-speed driving, Vermouth looked at the sender of the latest message, and her eyes suddenly changed.
She took out her phone and clicked on the latest unread message. From——
Champagne.
"Wait a moment."
Then, Vermouth suddenly stopped Bourbon. Then he gave a string of addresses.
"Turn around."
Vermouth's tone left no room for doubt, though she still felt a bit weak from the thrill of the race.
Furuya Rei raised an eyebrow. Without asking any questions, he turned the steering wheel, stepped on the accelerator again, and drove towards the address given by Vermouth.
He remembered... that place was a small dock?
Then, Furuya Rei felt a hand reaching into his coat pocket.
It was Vermouth who took his cell phone.
From the corner of his eye, Rei Fūya saw Vermouth take out his SIM card, along with her own. And then...
Break them in half from the middle.
She opened the car window a narrow gap and threw out the two broken SIM cards.
With the wind brought by the high-speed car, the fragments of the mobile phone card disappeared from sight in an instant.
Now, the indifference in Fūya Rei's eyes finally disappeared completely.
Something was happening, he realized. Something, something terrible.
*
At the same time, Pramya steered the car with one hand and parked it outside an abandoned warehouse.
From a distance, she squinted slightly and seemed to see someone standing in the dim warehouse. A woman, dressed in black, with a crisp, clean look.
"Go around behind."
Pramya was trying to figure out the identity of the woman in the warehouse when she heard Olga's voice coming from beside her.
When she turned around to look, Olga had already slammed the car door, put her hands in her pockets, and walked leisurely towards the abandoned warehouse alone.
Pramya realized what she had said before getting out of the car and couldn't help but smile. Then, she pushed open the car door as well. Following Olga's request, she quietly went around to the back of the abandoned warehouse.
There is a small door there.
"You really know how to order people around."
She bent down and slipped through the narrow door.
*
Waiting in the abandoned warehouse was none other than Kiel, or Rena Mizunashi. Or perhaps you could call her—
"Hondou Eikai."
Hondou Eikai looked up and followed the direction of the pleasant voice.
The man walked against the light from the gate, blocking most of the light coming in from outside.
Hondou Eikai couldn't see her face clearly, couldn't see her expression clearly. All he could see was a figure she would never forget, wearing a hood, hands in pockets, walking towards her step by step.
"Alsace."
Although it wasn't obvious on Hondou Eikai's face, all the muscles in his body were on alert.
Not long after Rum killed Gin, and after she told the FBI the information, Hondou Eikai received a text message from Olga asking her to come here for a meeting.
Naturally, Hondou Eikai didn't refuse. She had no right to refuse.
But her intuition told her - it was dangerous!
I heard that Rum had also defected. Hondou Eikai, who had participated in the entire process, naturally knew who was behind this. His already deep-seated fear of that person was further intensified.
Compared to those cruel acts, this kind of ruthless calculation is more frightening.
"What should we do next?"
Kiel tried to keep his voice normal, neither too relaxed nor too nervous.
Like Olga, Hondou Eikai also had his hands in his pockets.
"Send a message to the FBI,"
Olga stopped two steps away from her. In the empty factory, her voice seemed even more ethereal.
"Champagne is dispatched."
Hondou Eikai didn't hesitate. Following Olga's instructions, she reached out her left hand from her pocket, held her phone, and quickly tapped the screen a few times, sending a message.
Although he lowered his head slightly, Hondou Eikai's peripheral vision was always focused on Olga.
The demon didn't move for the time being, just stood there quietly.
After sending the text message, Hondou Eikai held up his phone, pointing the screen towards Olga. This way, she could see the message and the recipient. This was a way of showing that her obedience was harmless.
"Then what?"
Hondou Eikai's right hand, which was in his pocket, tensed up, ready to strike.
In the dim light, she saw the faceless figure before her, tilting its head. She heard the pleasant voice say briskly and calmly:
"Nothing more."
Hondou Eikai's right hand, which had been in his pocket, immediately reached out, grasped the gun with the safety pulled, and pointed the black muzzle at the demon's head.
"Where is my brother?"
The demon remained indifferent, not even moving. He just stood there, looking at her as if she were a clown.
Hondou Eikai thought something was wrong. Without thinking any more, he pulled the trigger with his index finger.
"Bang!"
Gunshots rang out.
She seemed to see the devil in front of her curl up the corners of her beautiful lips. Then, nothing happened...
With a dull thud, Hondou Eikai fell to the ground. Between her eyebrows was a bloody hole the size of a bowl bottom.
The eyes were not closed, and the eyeballs were bulging outward, as if they were angrily trying to engrave some image into the soul forever, and would not let it go even if they became a ghost.
“Tsk.”
Pramya saw Olga wiping the side of her face with her sleeve. Her pretty face was splattered with bright red blood.
"It's really annoying."
While wiping, she turned and walked out of the warehouse.
Pramya put away her gun and followed, the smile on her face widening.
"Why tell the FBI that Champagne is out?"
Olga simply replied, "This way they will have to be on their guard, and we'll buy more time."
"How cruel! Isn't this man one of your men?"
From the moment he sent her back, it was clear that this madman had no intention of letting the CIA in the warehouse survive. Don't even mention that the CIA betrayed this madman.
Olga just shrugged casually in response to Pramya's question, but did not answer.
Zero Zero. Aren't you worried that the CIA has evidence of my crimes?
See, isn't this solved?
At an angle that Pramya couldn't see, Olga raised the corners of her lips.
Zero. I will kill all those who witnessed my crimes, one by one. In the end, even if I am arrested, the eyewitnesses who can prove my crimes -
There's only you.
What do you think? Will you appear as a witness and state my crimes before the judge?
Of course. I won't be arrested. You'll be the one in the cage.
Don't be afraid, Zero Zero. I've carefully prepared the most beautiful cage for you. You'll love it.
*
Following the address given by Vermouth, Rei Furugaya drove to a pier.
This pier was probably private. It was quite empty and not very large, with only one medium-sized yacht moored on the shore.
After parking the car casually aside, Rei Furiya followed Vermouth onto the yacht.
On the yacht, low-level members of the organization, dressed in black, were waiting there from the morning. Seeing Vermouth and Bourbon, they bowed slightly.
Furuya Rei realized that something was wrong. Looking at this situation...
Is this preparation for escape?
Should he end his undercover mission now? He had already gathered enough evidence to convict the organization. There was no need for him to continue accompanying the organization in exile.
Just arrange people to carry out the arrest.
Thinking this, Rei Furuya followed Vermouth into the cabin. Then, he became even more certain that Vermouth was planning to escape.
In the corner of the cabin, there were two figures, one big and one small, tied tightly with ropes. Their mouths were taped, making them unable to move or make any sound.
Coincidentally, Furuya Rei knew both of them - Haibara Ai and Sera Masumi. Among them, Sera Masumi had obvious wounds on her body and legs.
Guarded by armed members of the organization, the two were in a situation where they couldn't escape. But...
What Rei Furuya doesn't understand is that Shirley is the main developer of APTX-4869, so it makes sense for the organization to kidnap her. But why did they kidnap Masumi Sera?
While he was puzzled, Furuya Rei suddenly heard footsteps coming from far away and approaching behind him. This rhythm was very familiar to him.
Just as Fūya Rei was about to turn around in surprise, the voice had already stopped behind him, at a very close distance.
He felt someone hugging him gently from behind. The arm was across his waist, holding him without any strength.
The faint scent of cherry blossoms lingered at the tip of his nose. The man placed his head on the crook of his neck and gently nuzzled it.
Then, a pleasant, unhurried voice echoed in my ears, sweet and tender. The warm breath fell on my ear, bringing a slight shiver.
"Have a sweet dream, Lingling."
Before Furuya Rei could comprehend the meaning of these words, he felt a pricking sensation at the back of his neck.
The next second, the world fell into darkness.
Olga raised her hand to catch the suddenly falling Furuya Rei, and then, under Vermouth's shocked gaze, gestured to the man in black waiting nearby:
"Get him to my room properly. Lock him up."
The two men in black took Furuya Rei from Olga's arms.
Vermouth frowned as they carried Furuya Rei away. She turned back, her frown still furrowed.
"Arthas, what are you doing?"
Why knock out Bourbon?
Olga ignored Shirley and Sera Masumi who were staring at her with wide eyes and whimpering as if they wanted to say something, put her hands in her pockets, turned around and walked towards the deck.
The ship has set sail, and the land has gradually disappeared from sight, leaving only the blue of the sea and sky, the clear sky, and the scorching sun hanging high in the sky.
Without receiving Olga's response, Vermouth followed her out and stood beside the railing with Olga. She wisely avoided Bourbon's topic and changed the question:
"When did you capture those two people?"
Vermouth was referring to Shirley and Sera Masumi in the cabin.
"Hmm..." Olga put her hands on the railing, seeming to be appreciating the view of the sea very seriously.
She still didn't answer Vermouth's question, but at least she spoke out loud. This was a significant improvement from before.
But Vermouth's brows furrowed even more tightly. She suddenly realized something -
"Is Rum's arrest also part of your plan?"
Yes. At this moment, Vermouth finally figured it out - from the unknown reason why Gin and Rum had a quarrel, to Gin being killed by Rum, to the boss ordering Rum to be killed - the mastermind behind all of this was none other than Arthas!
Why did she do that.
Vermouth saw Olga stand up straight, stretch a little, and speak in a normal tone:
"Not really. I thought you could handle Rum."
Vermouth snorted, and her frown finally relaxed.
Perhaps she was infected by Olga's nonchalant and calm demeanor. Or perhaps it was because at this point, there was no point in her dwelling on those things.
"You think too highly of me, Arthas." Vermouth's tone seemed to have returned to her usual lazy and casual tone. However, the moment she looked at Olga, her eyes couldn't help but become alert. "What do you want to do?"
The past can be left as it is. But in the future, Vermouth feels that she can no longer let Olga do whatever she wants.
Olga simply shrugged, leaning back against the railing. The sea breeze gently ruffled her crimson hair, softening her appearance for a moment.
Of course, this was all just an illusion. As soon as she opened her mouth, this fragile facade would be easily shattered.
She casually brushed away the hair that was blown in front of her eyes by the sea breeze, blocking her view, and her tone was still light and airy:
"I'm just helping the boss clean up. Isn't that a good thing?"
Of course not!
If Rum hadn't been apprehended by the police, he would have successfully fled overseas. By then, with the assets he had transferred in advance and the core members he had taken away from the organization, he could have formed a considerable force and established his own organization.
This kind of behavior has a huge impact and blow to the organization and the boss.
But then again, it wouldn't be a good thing if Rum was arrested by the police!
Vermouth couldn't even compare the two situations and say which one was worse.
As the second-in-command of the organization for so many years - on the surface - Rum has mastered too many secrets and criminal evidence of the organization!
Given Rum's personality... he might strike a deal with the police and sell out the organization for his own benefit.
"What about Gin?"
Compared to the disobedient Rum who needed to be cleaned up, Gin was definitely on the boss's side and was always loyal.
Olga uttered a short laugh:
"Gin? I don't like him."
So, she designed to sow discord between Gin and Rum, causing Gin to die in such a ridiculous and hasty way at the hands of Rum.
Vermouth changed the subject before she could get even angrier: "What about Shirley and that brat from the Akai family? Why did you capture them?"
You know, they are on the run now! They shouldn't bring these burdens that might attract an even more frantic pursuit.
Olga gave Vermouth a strange look and said, "Of course we captured Shirley for the antidote."
Vermouth was stunned. Antidote...
"you--"
"That's right," Olga finally told her. Now that they had to live together day and night, even if she didn't say it, Vermouth would find out sooner or later. "Those two old fools used me to test the medicine."
Vermouth frowned fiercely. Olga, on the other hand, remained calm and even smiled.
"Of course, I'm not like Shirley and the others who can't change back after becoming a child." She shrugged, "I just become smaller for a while occasionally. Besides-"
She looked at Vermouth, her jewel-like green eyes filled with a meaningful expression that frightened Vermouth, "You want the antidote too, right?"
Olga turned her head back as Vermouth's pupils suddenly shrank: "Of course, the antidote you want may be different from the one I want."
She seemed to be mumbling to herself, her voice unclear. Vermouth could only barely hear the few words carried to her ears by the sea breeze:
"...But, no matter which one, Shirley should be able to develop it..."
"As for Sera Masumi—" Olga's voice became clear again, "She bumped into me on her own."
Olga asked her subordinates to secretly kidnap Shirley while all the red team members were out to capture Rum. Who knew where Masumi Sera would come from?
At the time, Olga was locked up by Rei Furuya, making it difficult for her to communicate with the outside world. Undecided about whether to kill Masumi Sera, his subordinates simply tied her up and took her aboard with Shirley.
After Olga found out about this, she thought it would be a good idea to keep Sera Masumi as a hostage. She couldn't do anything anyway, so she didn't kill her immediately.
But the problem returned to the starting point. Vermouth frowned:
"If Rum confesses to protect himself—"
Olga gave Vermouth a strange look.
Instantly, Vermouth understood what she meant. Whether Rum confessed or not, there were only two outcomes for him: acquittal or suicide in detention. There was no middle ground.
Rum must have known this himself.
Vermouth only now realized how naive she had been. She had oversimplified the situation. Rum's confession was meaningless; it all depended on the final outcome of the game.
Even if he revealed all the organization's dirty laundry, it would only give the other side more leverage. Even regardless of whether Rum confessed or not... Furuya Rei alone likely already possessed a wealth of evidence against the organization.
An organization is never just a simple consortium or criminal organization. There are too many interests involved.
In fact, from the moment Rum was arrested, his life and death could no longer be determined simply by the law.
As a result, they fought for most of the day, but it was only on the surface, like a fight between children...Only Karasuma Renya could intervene in the higher levels.
The organization is currently on the ship that belonged to the former Prime Minister. Olga feels that ship will eventually sink. It's all thanks to Karasuma Renya's wise decision. What an inflexible old man.
Vermouth seemed to want to say something. But at this moment——
The two people leaning against the railing turned their heads almost simultaneously and looked behind them warily, even though only a very slight, sudden sound came from that direction.
"who?!"
While Vermouth was questioning loudly, Olga had already raised her gun towards the source of the voice.
A figure emerged from the back of the cabin. It was the figure of a young man. He raised his hands and walked slowly, as if to reassure Vermouth and Olga.
Finally, the man came out of the shadows into the sunlight.
"Kudo Shinichi."
Olga narrowed her eyes slightly and pronounced the name.
It was Shinichi Kudo, a high school student. He must have taken a half-finished antidote.
"When did you come?" Vermouth also raised her gun and pointed it at Kudo Shinichi. Her brows furrowed again.
Kudo Shinichi stood in the sun, not far from the two of them, on the deck. He still held his hands up, maintaining that harmless pose. But his expression was more serious and solemn than ever before.
"The main force is on the way. I advise you to surrender quickly and stop the reckless killing."
He seemed to have arrived alone to save Shirley...
No, it should be said that he had secretly boarded the ship and hidden somewhere long before the ship set sail!
Vermouth's brows furrowed even tighter, and even a vertical line appeared.
Olga suddenly walked towards Kudo Shinichi without putting down the gun.
"Alsa——"
"It's a lie."
Olga's voice was calm, without any ripples, as if she was simply stating a fact. But it was this very calmness and indifference that made it seem even more terrifying.
The muzzle of the gun was already against Kudo Shinichi's forehead.
At this moment, even Kudo Shinichi's back was soaked with cold sweat. He was just trying hard to maintain his composure.
He saw Olga pull the trigger, the scene reflected in his rapidly shrinking pupils, as if in slow motion.
But he had no time to react or resist.
"Bang--!"
Gunshots rang out. On the open sea.
Kudo Shinichi nervously closed his eyes. A moment later, the expected pain did not come.
He quietly opened one eye, only to see the gun in Olga's hand fly out of her hand!
Kudo Shinichi's eyes widened in surprise. Because the person who suddenly appeared in front of him was...
"orchid!?"
Why is she here?!
*
Half a second ago.
At the moment Olga pulled the trigger, the lid of one of the iron barrels placed against the wall outside the cabin was suddenly flipped open.
Olga only saw a figure jumping out of the metal barrel and kicking the wrist of her hand holding the gun at an extremely fast speed.
With the sound of a gunshot, the gun in her hand flew out, and the bullet shot straight into the sky.
Olga covered her painful left wrist and looked carefully.
It's Mao Lilan.
Apparently, she had been hiding in that tin bucket since the beginning. She probably saw Kudo Shinichi on the road and followed him quietly.
Mao Lilan obviously still didn't understand the situation. She didn't understand why Kudo Shinichi, who had been missing for half a year, suddenly appeared, nor did she understand why her classmate, Olga, who looked harmless, stood with the "human trafficker" Vermouth and pointed a gun at Kudo Shinichi. However,
She knew the situation was dangerous.
So she finally jumped out from her hiding place and fought with Olga.
Mao Lilan was indeed good at karate, but it was just a hobby after all. The fighting skills that Olga had learned since childhood were deadly.
But Olga's strength was indeed no match for Ran Mouri. Even though her left hand was now healed, and even though she clearly had the upper hand in terms of technique, for a while, she and Ran Mouri were still fighting fiercely, evenly matched.
And Vermouth——
She was just standing there stupidly, holding the gun. Apparently, she was held there by the sudden appearance of Kudo Shinichi and Mao Lilan.
Kudo Shinichi had disappeared. He must have gone to the cabin where Shirley and Sera Masumi were being held.
After a long fight, Olga had no advantage. Even though she had the upper hand against Mao Lilan at the beginning, after only one minute——
A dull pain throbbed from her heart, which had been racing due to the intense exercise. Instantly, all the color drained from Olga's face, turning completely pale.
In the second when she was slowed down by pain, Mao Lilan kicked her on the outside of her right arm.
Olga covered her arm in pain and took a step back, frowning and yelling at Vermouth: "Shoot!"
Vermouth finally seemed to come back to her senses from her daze. Actually, it hadn't been long, just a few seconds.
Vermouth adjusted the muzzle of her gun and pointed it at Ran. Ran took a cautious step back upon seeing this.
"orchid!"
However, a gust of wind pierced through the airflow and flew towards Ran Maoli from behind, almost brushing her hair. There was also a sound of air bursting.
Mao Lilan looked back in surprise.
"dad!?"
Then, Kogoro Mōri appeared out of nowhere, holding a pistol. It was clearly the same pistol Olga had just held. She must have kicked it away, and then Kogoro Mōri picked it up.
The black muzzle of the gun was now pointed at Olga.
"Bang!"
"Arthas!"
Blood exploded on Olga's calf, like a gorgeous red flower.
In an instant, the color drained from her face. Her entire body trembled with pain. Unable to stand on her injured leg, she simply squatted down, gritted her teeth, and pressed her sleeve firmly against the wound, trying to temporarily stop the bleeding.
There shouldn't be any broken bones. Amidst the excruciating pain, she made such a calm judgment.
"Lan! Go!"
Maori Kogoro's roar came from not far away, accompanied by the sound of running that was getting farther and farther away.
Vermouth hurried to Olga's side, wanting to check her injuries. She was also pale, even though she wasn't injured at all.
"How are you?!"
There was genuine anxiety and panic in Vermouth's tone.
Olga pushed her away and said fiercely, "Go after him!"
Vermouth finally reacted, stood up, and chased after the Maori father and daughter with a gun. She turned back worriedly, and happened to meet Olga's eyes.
Those cold green eyes frightened her.
*
In fact, Olga was not looking at Vermouth.
The moment she looked up, she seemed to see a figure disappear over the side of the ship. A figure... a figure she was very familiar with.
She would never forget the indifference and alienation in those gray-blue eyes when they looked at her.
Zero zero.
*
When Vermouth chased after them, they had already lowered a lifeboat on the ship and escaped some distance.
Vermouth aimed the gun with both hands.
After a long moment, he lowered his arms again. They had already escaped the range of the pistol.
Vermouth turned back. Olga needed immediate medical attention. There was no doctor on board, but there should be a basic medical kit.
*
When Vermouth returned, Olga had already started to feel cold all over and her vision was blacking out from time to time.
The injury was not to a vital part, but the excessive blood loss was still difficult to bear.
"They escaped on the lifeboat." Vermouth squatted beside Olga, wanting to check her wounds. "How are you?"
How about it?
Olga felt dizzy. Not just from the wound. She was angry.
What's going on with this group of people? Just like the Calabash Brothers saving their grandfather, they appear one after another, inexplicably!
Angel waved away Vermouth's support and stumbled into the cabin.
As expected, the few black-clad men who had stayed behind to guard Shirley collapsed to the ground. They had all been taken down quickly and efficiently, neither dead nor suffering any minor injuries.
Shirley was rescued. It was convenient to take someone the size of a child away.
But Sera Masumi was left behind.
