As the lotus lanterns drifted away with the current, everyone silently lowered their heads.
The people releasing lanterns by the river all had their hands clasped together, presumably making a wish.
Wu Er did the same, but he secretly glanced at his fellow disciples and Kun Wu.
He thought to himself: Xiao Wu's wish is to become a tough guy, Xiao Ping's wish is to open the biggest shop in the world, Gou Dan probably wants the best car in the world, and Ning Yan's wish is even simpler...
While making a wish, Wu Er tried to guess the wishes of the people next to him.
After thinking for a long time, he still couldn't figure out Xiao Mingmu and Kunwu's wishes.
Kunwu couldn't figure it out, and that was that, since they hadn't spent much time together.
If Wu Er couldn't figure out Xiao Mingmu's wishes, he felt a little uneasy.
He thought to himself: His second junior brother usually seems uninterested in everything, has no hobbies, and always has a sour face towards outsiders. He really doesn't know what his wishes are.
After thinking and thinking, Wu Er still couldn't figure it out, so he simply stopped thinking about it.
Wu Er chuckled softly at the river illuminated by lights, and made a wish in his heart: My wish is very simple, I just hope that all your wishes come true.
The sound of rushing water filled the air as the lotus lanterns used for making wishes drifted away.
After a long while, everyone raised their heads.
"How is it? Have you all made your wishes?"
Wu Er asked with a smile.
Upon hearing this, everyone nodded except for Xiao Mingmu, who remained silent.
Then look at Wo Ningyan, she actually threw herself into Wu Er's arms, shaking her head and acting coquettishly.
She added, "Senior Brother, my wish is for you to always be happy and healthy. How about it, Ning Yan?"
"Ningyan," Wu Er chuckled, patting Wo Ningyan on the back, "wishes won't come true if you say them out loud. If you say that, I'm afraid I won't be happy anymore, and I'll be miserable for the rest of my life!"
This was a joke, but it might not be a joke in the future.
Yan Zheng whispered, "When will my wish come true?"
Meanwhile, Zhang Wu pulled Chen Ping over, the two of them being very close.
Well, actually it was only Zhang Wu's perspective. Chen Ping didn't really like his third senior brother because Zhang Wu would put his arm around his neck every time he spoke.
With Zhang Wu's strength... that felt like suffocation.
Kun Wu looked at Wu Er and Wo Ningyan and said, "You fellow disciples are really interesting. You've all cultivated immortality, yet you still believe in this kind of talk."
Upon hearing this, Wu Er immediately retorted, "Of course you have to believe. If you stop believing in anything after cultivating the Tao, then it's meaningless."
"I don't believe it at all." Kunwu spread his hands and said, "My wish is to reform this world. Does that mean my words won't come true?"
Reforming the entire world?!
"Miss Kun, you have great ambition." Wu Er was slightly surprised.
Kun Wu continued, "Of course, after all, the mortal world and the cultivation world, the human race and the demon race, and even the same race slaughter each other. I have never liked this kind of thing, and what I don't like, I naturally want to change."
His tone was calm, but what he said was anything but.
This is also someone who hopes to change the world.
Wu Er pondered for a moment. Although he was still naive after living two lives, he knew a few things.
At least from the perspective of past history, those who want to change the world, whether they succeed or not, have to pay a great price.
After some more playful banter, the group went to watch a play on the stage.
"Oh, Master Wu is here! Quickly, make room for him! Clear out the front row!"
The audience on the stage, including the young actor, were incredibly enthusiastic when they saw Wu Er and his group.
The people in front of Wu Er were offering him a seat and serving him tea and water.
After all, this is a great benefactor who saved the lives of half the city, so naturally we must serve him well, otherwise we might be subject to gossip.
Seeing this, Wu Er waved his hand and laughed, "What's going on? Just treat me like an ordinary person, no need to be so polite."
"Heh, what are you saying, Immortal Master?"
Then a young actor about to go on stage bowed respectfully and said, "Sir, you are a powerful and virtuous master. It is my honor to be able to perform for you!"
After hearing this, the people around him echoed his words.
"Yes, yes, how can immortals be the same as mortals?"
"Immortal Master, please step forward. Don't make us feel uncomfortable!"
"Oh my, what a humble immortal."
......
Although he didn't like being treated this way, Wu Er felt embarrassed to refuse because the people around him were so enthusiastic.
And so, Wu Er and his gang, supported by a group of ordinary people, sat in the front row.
Even the young male lead, the young female lead, and the old female lead on stage were all preparing repeatedly, wanting to bring out their best performance.
After a burst of gongs and drums, the play officially began.
Various performers took turns on stage, and then began to sing under the lights.
Wu Er overheard someone nearby saying that this play was a newly choreographed one, unlike any he had seen before.
And the name of this new play is—The Immortal's Salvation.
Judging from the name, Wu Er could roughly guess the content of the new play; it was probably praising his act of saving people.
Sure enough, once the play started, the content was exactly the same as what he had imagined.
Wu Er disliked this content. He didn't like being praised to the skies, because the higher you're praised, the harder you'll be thrown off.
Kunwu, Xiao Mingmu, Zhang Wu, Chen Ping, Yan Zheng, and Wo Ningyan, who were standing nearby, all understood the content of the play.
Let's set aside Kunwu's thoughts for now.
The others, however, quite appreciated the play. This was the opinion of their fellow disciples, who believed that their senior brother should be praised by the world for thousands of years.
