Chapter 87 is actually a chatterbox

Sunlight streamed into the small temple, casting patches of light on the ground through the hole in the temple door.

At this moment, the small temple in the desolate mountains was bustling with activity, with noises constantly ringing out.

Then I saw wisps of smoke coming from the broken window, which meant someone was making breakfast.

Wu Er was busy at the makeshift stove in the temple, blowing on the fire and checking the water, appearing extremely hurried.

There's nothing we can do about it; he got up late today.

After all that commotion yesterday, I slept quite soundly, which is why I woke up late.

If you get up late, there will be no one to make breakfast.

In the small temple, only Wu Er knew how to cook, so if he didn't get up, the whole group of people would go hungry.

These are all children who haven't fully developed yet; it would be bad for their health if they missed even one meal.

By the way, Xiao Mingmu actually always cooks for himself before Wu Er gets up, but he almost dismantles the stove every time, so Wu Er forbade him from cooking.

"Finally finished."

Wu Er spent quite a while before hurriedly preparing the meal.

"Dinner's ready!"

Wu Er, who was standing in front of the stove, shouted.

Upon hearing the shout, the group of children rushed excitedly into the makeshift kitchen, their mouths watering.

They must have been really starving, otherwise they wouldn't have looked like that.

This made Wu Er feel a pang of heartache again, and he quickly served rice and dishes to the little ones.

The rice wasn't rice or millet, but rather coarse bean rice. The vegetables were also quite bland, consisting of simple greens.

Even so, the kids didn't complain about how bad the food was and started eating big chunks of it.

Seeing the little ones eating heartily, Wu Er smiled with satisfaction.

However, he did not eat because he still had a bowl of porridge that was not fully cooked.

This porridge is for Kunwu; after all, patients always need to drink some porridge, as it's good for their stomach and easier to absorb.

"Glug, glug~"

The porridge in the pot had already boiled. Wu Er scooped up a spoonful with a wooden spoon, tasted it, nodded, and then served a bowl.

Then he carried the bowl of porridge past the children eating and brought it to Kunwu, who was sitting on the straw mat.

Kunwu woke up, and thanks to Wu Er's bandaging last night, she was out of danger.

Of course, this is not to say that Wu Er's medical skills are so good. The main reason why Kun Wu was able to recover was because of her exceptionally good constitution.

"Miss Kun, have some porridge."

Wu Er squatted down and handed over the porridge in his hand.

Kunwu glanced at Wu'er, but instead of taking the porridge, he asked, "Have you eaten?"

"I've eaten." Wu Er pushed the porridge forward again. "You're the only one who hasn't eaten yet."

Even so, Kunwu still didn't go to pick it up, but instead glanced at Wu Er indifferently.

Wu Er smiled when he saw Kun Wu looking at him, and just then, he heard a "gurgle" and his stomach started to rumble.

She just said she wasn't hungry, and now she's saying this...

It has to be said, the scene was quite awkward.

"Um?"

Kun Wu's lips curled up slightly, as if he were chuckling.

Needless to say, handsome people are even more handsome when they smile, making them a delight to behold.

"You wouldn't lie to me, would you?"

Kunwu said softly.

Wu Er blushed slightly after hearing this, coughed twice, and said, "You're injured and very weak. You should eat something."

Kun Wu glanced at Wu Er again and said, "I didn't expect you to be so kind, treating a stranger like me so well."

“You flatter me, young lady,” Wu Er replied. “You have saved me twice, so I should treat you the same way. This is repaying a debt of gratitude, not kindness.”

“Haha, not kindness?” Kunwu shook his head. “I have traveled from afar and seen too many people in the mortal world. Most of those who repay kindness are kind people. I can feel that you are full of kindness.”

Can you even sense goodwill? Wu Er didn't want to say anything about that.

Moreover, having said that, Wu Er didn't want to dwell on the issue of kindness or unkindness.

In his opinion, Kunwu was a bit eccentric and always tended to veer off in strange directions when he spoke, so it was better for him to say less useless things.

But since he was his savior, it wasn't appropriate to say this to Kunwu's face.

So Wu Er pushed the porridge forward again, getting back to the point, saying, "There's still food in the pot, enough for me. Please drink the porridge first, so I can have my hands free to eat."

"You have an interesting way of saying things."

Kun Wu said something first, then reached out and took the bowl of porridge, saying, "By the way, I still don't know your name."

Wu Er replied, "My name is Wu Er, which is Wu Er with the radical for 'person' and the number 5, and Er with the number 1 and 2."

Kun Wu, who was holding the porridge, tasted it and said, "Wu Er, that's really an interesting name. How did you come to have such a name?"

"Oh, this?" Wu Er explained, "My father's name is Wu Da, and I am his son. I am the second man in the family, so I am called Wu Er."

The reason is simple and common; that's how this strange name came about.

"That's similar to the origin of my name."

Kunwu put the porridge she was holding on the ground and said, "I was the fifth child born among the younger generation in my family. Because I am a girl, I don't have a name. I am just called by my birth order, so I am called Kunwu."

"Then we really are destined to meet," Wu Er complimented.

“That’s right!” Kunwu became more and more enthusiastic as they talked, and then asked, “By the way, why do you live in this little temple?”

This is because...

For quite some time afterward, Wu Er and Kun Wu chatted like this.
