Chapter 79 Standing
Saman's smile did not diminish, but his eyes fell on Dui who was standing beside him.
Dui understood his look immediately, stretched out his hand and pulled the resentful Piero back.
"Chief, we have something else to do so we will leave first. You and Lu Yi can chat slowly..."
"Yes, yes, the docking work has not been completed yet."
Piero glanced at her and then stepped back along with her force.
"Come in." Saman pushed open the door behind him and motioned Lu Yi to follow.
β¦
The four floors are already very distinctive, and Saman's Room 4444 extends the already outstanding bright style with an almost wild layout.
A huge bookcase took up an entire wall, with weird little ornaments baring their teeth and claws everywhere, and a large Warcraft model was placed in a corner.
Lu Yidu glanced at the Warcraft model whose expression was frozen in a ferocious look.
"Like it? Give it to you." said Saman.
"No, thank you for your kindness." Lu Yi shook his head and declined politely.
He just looked at the monster's ferocious face twice more, and he couldn't say that he liked it at all.
What's more, Lu Yi was afraid that he would have a nightmare in the middle of the night if he placed such a hideous and terrifying Warcraft model in the dormitory.
Lu Yi refused verbally, and Saman did not force him. He just said with a little regret: "Okay, I'll catch you a nice one next time. This ugly thing really doesn't suit you."
Lu Yi blinked and asked curiously, "Did you catch this yourself? I thought it was a model at first, but it turned out to be a real monster corpse!"
Saman nodded, "Yes, the monster corpse, I caught it."
Seeing that Lu Yi was a little curious, he patiently explained: "It was around this time last year. It was one of the monsters I killed in the grade trial competition. It was the strongest one."
He walked slowly to the model made of the monster's corpse and directly opened the monster's mouth, revealing the bare inner wall of the mouth.
"Don't think it looks like nothing now, but its original body was two stories high. I specially hired someone to shrink its body, otherwise you can't put it in my office."
"It bit off one of my hands, so I broke all its teeth and took my arm back from its mouth," said Saman with a smile.
His smile was easy and bright, but the viciousness in his eyes could not be hidden.
Or maybe he never intended to hide.
Lu Yi slightly side-glanced and looked up at him.
Saman slapped the monster's head hard like a ball.
"Speaking of which, the grade trial competition is coming soon...it's about a few months away, right?" Saman said, looking at Lu Yi with interest.
"Brother Lu Yi, do you want me to go easy on you? The management of the grade trial competition is all about the seniors beating up the freshmen."
"Yes, thank you, senior." Lu Yi climbed up the pole without thinking.
His straightforward answer that he wanted to let the game go actually surprised Saman a little.
"...No, shouldn't you politely refuse now and say that you want to rely on your strength?"
Lu Yi looked at him and said confidently, "If it's just me, then I don't care whether you let me off or not."
"But the grade competition is not just my business. The competition format and rules are drawn up by the second-year students who are also participating in the grade trial competition. If senior Saman, the head prefect of the second year, is willing to let it go, the entire first year will benefit."
Lu Yi paused and said with a smile, "After all, I was forced to become a class leader. I should at least consider the freshmen more, right?"
Saman nodded and gave him a thumbs up. "Yes, very strong. It is a blessing for the freshmen to have a class leader like you. You already have the basic qualities of a chief."
"So, senior, do you keep your word?" Lu Yi asked with a smile.
"Of course, I, Saman Afro, never tell lies."
Saman turned and took out two thin sheets of paper from the table behind him.
He handed one to Lu Yi and crumpled the other one and threw it into the trash can.
Waste paper balls go into the basket accurately.
Lu Yi glanced at the contents on the paper.
The title of the white paper clearly read "Draft Candidates for Grade Trial Competition".
This thin piece of paper simply records the competition format and general rules of the grade trial competition. With just a few strokes, the preliminary regulations of a competition are planned in a concise and orderly manner.
More importantly, this trial competition is impartial and very fair to the freshmen - even very friendly.
Saman raised his eyebrows and took the paper back from Lu Yi's hand.
"I received two options for the final draft of the Trial, one from Dui and one from Biero."
"Is the copy I got written by Senior Dui?"
"Yes." Samman nodded. "I don't think you want to see Biero's draft. He was targeted badly last year and has been brooding over it. He hopes to get back at the young freshmen this year and vent his anger on them."
It seems that Biero's draft is really harmful enough to make the chief give the evaluation of revenge.
Okay, okay, there was no chief before bullying the freshmen, right?
Lu Yi silently took note of him in his heart.
"Biero is capable enough. Both drafts can pass the review of the academy smoothly."
"For me, it doesn't matter whether it's one or two."
Saman raised his eyes and looked at Lu Yi, his gray eyes flashing with kindness that could be called a "show of goodwill".
"But since Junior Brother Lu Yi has spoken, I am still happy to be biased."
Saman said with a smile: "After all, we will work together for the next two or three years. Getting along well is the long-term solution. And I believe we are on the same path, don't you think so, Junior Brother Lu Yi!"
Lu Yi narrowed his eyes slightly, but the uncertainty in his heart became even greater because of his words.
Are they... traveling together?
Hard to say.
Lu Yi chose to remain silent.
Samantha didn't care about his silence and reached out her hand to him.
"Chief Lu Yi, welcome to join the twelve seats."
"This is the pinnacle of Bryside's power."
Lu Yi slowly held his hand.
"Thank you for your welcome, Chief Saman."
Their eyes met.
The long-misty grey eyes seemed to have suddenly brushed away all the dust at this moment, bursting out with a startling sense of deterrence. Saman's slender raised eyebrows showed a hint of fierceness even without a smile.
There was a smile on his lips, but his eyes were filled with consideration and deeper thought.
Lu Yi looked at him fearlessly, his blue eyes full of calmness and composure. His incomparable beauty turned into a sharp sword at this moment, and no matter what ability the other party showed, he could not be shaken in the slightest.
The two of them let go of each other's hands almost at the same time.
Saman narrowed his eyes again and patted Lu Yi's shoulder with a smile.
"Hi! Lu Yi, I really like you more and more now. Do you have a fan club? Let me join too..."
Lu Yi pushed away the hand he placed on his shoulder, "Bad taste, what a disgusting bad taste, I will also organize a Saman fan club tomorrow."
Unexpectedly, Saman's face was full of surprise, and he said happily: "Really?! Lu Yi, are you the president?"
"Fake." Lu Yi gave a fake smile.
"Okay." Saman immediately lost his temper and pretended to fall down on his sofa chair.
He pointed at the sofa chair in front of him and said, "Sit down. I moved it here especially for you. You should know that there is always only one chair in my office."
Lu Yi was not polite either. He elegantly pulled out the sofa chair and sat down calmly.
"Really? I'm honored."
Saman nodded seriously, "That's right! But if you come to see me often, I will consider putting this chair here. It will be your seat in the future. The chief discussion chair, we can sit opposite each other until dawn!"
Lu Yi smiled politely.
Saman had teased him enough and finally brought the topic back on track with satisfaction.
"In fact, the job of a chief is both difficult and simple."
Lu Yi sat up straight and looked at him intently.
He really has a good-looking face. Just two seconds of him looking at you seriously is enough to make your heart start pounding, Saman thought.
He quietly calmed his irregular heartbeat, coughed twice and continued to talk to Lu Yi.
"Well, the most important thing is to select two capable deputy heads."
The corners of Lu Yi's mouth twitched slightly.
ββHe just knew it!
He was just hoping that Saman could impart some useful experience to him!
"I didn't say that." Saman immediately added, "There are skills in selecting deputy grades. People with strong abilities may not be able to handle trivial matters in the grade, and people with strong abilities find it difficult to push forward trivial matters in front of strong people."
"So we have to find someone who is strong and capable?" Lu Yi summarized.
"right!"
Isn't what you said nonsense? ! Lu Yi was even more speechless.
"But there is a more important indicator." Saman said slowly.
Lu Yi's expression changed slightly, and he said in a serious tone: "Identity."
"That's right!" Saman nodded and looked at him approvingly.
"How to strike a good balance between the noble students and the commoner students in this grade is a question that every chairperson must think carefully about."
Saman lay down on the backrest, his eyes fixed on Lu Yi, but it seemed more like he was looking through Lu Yi at other people.
"Taking sides, this is an unavoidable problem."
Is he a noble or a commoner?
Lu Yi's expression remained unchanged, but there was a hint of solemnity in his eyes.
"What if I don't stand?"
Samantha chuckled upon hearing this.
His smile was not to mock Lu Yi's wild ideas, but a kind of confusion that was almost happy and sad.
Lu Yi couldn't understand his smile.
But Saman knew it.
What he was laughing at was not Lu Yi's innocence, but his own innocence that once existed.
Saman shook his head slowly but with great determination, his voice very soft.
"Lu Yi, there are some things that we cannot control. Some unspoken rules hidden in the shadows have continued for hundreds of years in Bryside, and we are just passers-by who are swept forward."
He once thought that he would be the savior who would change everything.
But only a year passed.
His thoughts changed completely.
Saman laughed at himself, but he would not laugh at Lu Yi.
How precious is the heart of a child.
Very occasionally, he would want to do something else.
Saman looked at Lu Yi with great concentration and took out a thick stack of white kraft paper from the drawer beside him.
"These are all the first-year students who are capable enough to serve as deputy prefects."
Samandon said, "It includes nobles and commoners, and their identities and simple past experiences are marked."
"Lu Yi, it's your choice what to do."
"But what I can tell you is that the third-year prefects and deputy prefects are all commoners, while the fourth-year prefects and deputy prefects are all nobles."
