I was sucked by the woman in red for three minutes. Damn, all my yang energy was almost sucked away. Fortunately, I am a yang man with extremely rich yang energy. Even if she sucked me for another ten minutes, it would not be enough!
Then I watched as Hong Yi's somewhat frail body suddenly became full and energetic. He even spun a few times in the air and smiled at me with energy, "Master, thank you for your yang energy. I feel much better now!"
It seems to be effective.
"That's good." I breathed a sigh of relief. Then, I pointed to the altar and told Hongyi to go inside and rest. She didn't need to come out unless she was fine. Hongyi nodded, transformed into a beam of light, and shot into the altar.
I put the red-clad soul offering tablet into my bag so that I can carry it with me. I can call her out to help when I need her, and let her go back to rest when I don’t need her, so that she doesn’t have to run around in the sun all day.
By the time I was done, it was already past midnight. Even though I was a little tired, I still had to pee before I could fall asleep. There was no bathroom in this room, what a shame! I had to open the door and go look for it. Luckily, there was a public restroom not far away, with lights flashing on both sides. Even though the light was a little dim, it didn't bother me at all.
When I walked to the door of the toilet, a female shadow appeared in front of me. She was dressed like a noblewoman in the 1920s and 1930s of the Republic of China. The stiff collar of her white wide-sleeved, slanted-collared top accentuated her face, showing off her beautiful oval face. She was wearing a silk satin skirt embroidered with gold flowers.
Set against the faint moonlight in the sky, it is very stunning when viewed from afar, and the atmosphere of the Republic of China era is overwhelming.
I was stunned when I saw her. Is there a woman dressed like that in Ningjiazhuang? And she was sweeping the restroom door with a broom. Could she be the cleaning lady from Ningjiazhuang? Even if she was, she was cleaning way too late! Who the hell would clean a restroom in the middle of the night?
I walked over curiously, and when I passed by her, I subconsciously asked, "Auntie, why are you still cleaning so late?"
The woman in Republican-era clothing didn't even raise her head as she replied calmly, "Do I look that old?"
"No, no, no... Big sister, you are so beautiful!" I flattered her quickly and walked into the men's restroom. When I came out after peeing, the big sister from the Republic of China was no longer near the restroom, but the broom was thrown on the ground.
A beautiful ballad blared from a distant tram. I looked up and saw the same Republican-era woman sitting on the slowly moving tram, singing an old but still wonderful folk song. The tune was mournful, the tone melancholy. I only listened for a moment before my nose started to sore.
The tram went off into the distance, and I didn't chase it. I went straight back to the guest room to sleep. However, the heartbreaking folk song still drifted in the distance, intermittently, until around four or five in the morning, when it gradually faded away.
The next morning, around eight or nine, I got up and went out, just in time to run into Huo Liang and Zhao Xi coming out of the guest room. I hurried over and asked them if they had heard a woman singing folk songs last night. They looked at each other and then shook their heads.
I glared. Damn! That Republican-era lady was singing so loudly last night, and it was at night. I'm afraid at least half the people in Ningjiazhuang could have heard it. Not to mention the few of us sleeping nearby! But I asked several times, and they all said they didn't hear it. They even asked me if I was hallucinating.
How could I possibly be hallucinating? I'm so drunk. I want to ask Su Xiaoniu, she's sound asleep, she's not paying any attention to me.
Suddenly, an elderly housekeeper came over and asked us to go to the restaurant, saying that Ning Xue asked us to have breakfast together.
We followed the butler down the corridor and arrived at the Ning Family Manor's grand dining room. Not only was the furniture and fixtures unique, but even the dining utensils were exceptionally high-end. Ning Changfeng, Ning Xue, and Man Yuanyi were already there. Upon seeing us enter, Man Yuanyi glanced at us, and Ning Xue smiled and waved. Ning Changfeng didn't even look up; he was clutching a newspaper, his legs crossed, sipping a cup of oatmeal.
We went up to say hello and then sat down next to Huo Liang and Zhao Xi.
Breakfast was a Western-style pastry, with fried egg toast, ham, cheese and egg sandwiches, egg cups, omelette, oatmeal, etc. It looked quite rich. Since there was delicious food, I ate it without hesitation. However, these guys were silent while eating breakfast, eating by themselves, which made me a little unbearable.
To lighten the mood, I ate for a while, then asked Ning Xue, "By the way, Boss Ning, did you hear a woman singing folk songs last night?"
puff!
It wasn't Ning Xue, but Man Yuanyi and Ning Changfeng who all spat out oats simultaneously...
Ning Xue asked me in surprise, "Xu Fei, what nonsense are you talking about? I didn't hear any folk songs."
I frowned and said, "That's strange. I definitely saw and heard it last night..."
Ning Xue ate her fried egg and said nonchalantly, "Ningjiazhuang is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are no dance halls nearby. You must be hallucinating."
"No way?" I was stunned. Why were they saying I was hallucinating again? Damn it, even Su Xiaonu didn't say a word. Could it really be that I was hallucinating? And what about that Minguo sister I saw in the bathroom last night? Don't say it was my hallucination?
At this time, Ning Changfeng put down the cup, stood up, and said, "If you have nothing to do at night, just stay in the guest room and behave yourself. Ningjiazhuang will not be responsible for anything that happens." As soon as he finished speaking, he had already walked out of the restaurant.
This Ning Changfeng seems to be very unfriendly to me!
As soon as Ning Changfeng left, Man Yuanyi quickly finished his meal. As he stood up and walked past me, he lowered his voice and whispered to me, "If you hear or see her again tonight, don't talk to her or listen to her folk songs on purpose. It will be fine in a few days."
