What a huge palace appeared before my eyes!
But perhaps because no one has lived there for many years, large patches of moss have grown on the walls, and clusters of green vines have entwined themselves around them, almost covering the entire palace... The overall appearance gives it a sense of shabby, desolate, cold and decay.
Moreover, since it was night, the light was very dim, and there was no light shining from the palace, making it pitch black everywhere. The most terrifying thing was that from time to time, there would be balls of ghostly fire flickering and floating through the palace, and there would be a terrifying "woooooo" sound coming from all around, which made people's scalps tingle.
After observing the situation around me, I took a deep breath and walked into the palace. Before I entered, I didn't see any of Zhang Haitao and his companions. It seemed that after entering through each door, the invaders would appear in a different place and would never collide with each other. Unless all eight gates were broken, the invaders would converge at the Ghost Gate.
This is my understanding of the Ghost Gate Bagua Escape.
I entered from the living gate. The iron door of the palace was already rusty. I pushed it gently and heard a "creaking" sound. Then there was a "clicking" sound from the rusty iron door, and the door was slowly pushed open.
The light inside was as dark as ever.
I was already mentally prepared, because darkness wasn't much of a hindrance to me. Even though Su Xiaoniu had left my body and my senses had weakened, my foundation was still there, and it was more than enough to face this darkness.
I walked in, and a gloomy atmosphere hit me, accompanied by balls of will-o'-the-wisp fire floating in front of my eyes, as if I had entered a ghost town. However, I didn't feel scared, the degree of the will-o'-the-wisp fire was not enough to scare me, but for safety reasons, I had prepared yellow paper in my hand.
After entering the door, there is a very high platform deep in front. I can't see what is on the platform, but on the left and right sides are huge black and yellow gears, a total of nine on both sides, six of which are rotating, and the remaining three remain fixed.
From the outside, it looks like a huge palace, but once you go inside, you find that it is not a palace at all, but just an empty house, and a very small one at that. Apart from the gears on the left and right sides, there is only the high platform in the front.
I pulled out the Ghost Gate Entry Diagram and looked at it again, the reverse side of course, where Su Xiaoniu had added the detailed instructions for entering the formation, along with a paragraph below. She said, "This formation isn't complete; it only has the Ghost Gates on the periphery. Even if four ordinary people break in separately and destroy or unlock a mechanism inside, the formation can be easily broken." And what do the nine gears and the strange platform appearing before my eyes now mean?
I ran over to the nine gears, and found six of them spinning, while the other three remained motionless. I tried to turn the three that remained motionless, but every time they moved, the platform would make a "clicking" sound and would fall down at a speed visible to the naked eye.
I was delighted, so that's it!
The so-called mechanism that Su Xiaoniu suggested should be this!
Although I don't know what's on that high platform, I only know that if I want to break the formation, I should open this mechanism.

When I finally twisted the three gears and let the platform land gently on the ground, I discovered that there was a huge white tiger on the platform! I was so scared at that time. How could the white tiger, the deity of the four directions in Chinese mythology, appear here?
Ao! Before I could react, the white tiger roared at me and pounced on me fiercely.
But every time it leaped, a metallic "clang clang" sound would be heard after it landed. This sound was even louder when it was running, as if it was carrying a lot of steel on its back. A closer look revealed that its eyes were not physical eyes, but two balls of ghostly fire, one bright and one dim. Looking even more closely at its appearance, there was no trace of flesh; it was clearly made entirely of steel!
I immediately realized that this was not the legendary white tiger, but a mechanical white tiger, which was the "mechanism" that Su Xiaoniu had hinted at.
In other words, if you want to break through the gate of life, you must kill this mechanical white tiger!
I breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing the mechanical white tiger about to pounce on me, I quickly rolled sideways, and the yellow paper in my hand had already stuck to it the moment I dodged it. Boom! The huge mechanical white tiger pounced on the open ground, leaving four claw marks on the ground... After all, its four legs were made of steel, including its claws. Forget about what would happen if it clawed at someone, just scratching the thick ground would create a hole. You can imagine how dangerous it was.
I seized a moment, formed a hand seal, and muttered something. Immediately, I heard a "puff" sound. The yellow paper that had been stuck to the mechanical white tiger suddenly burned with a ball of blue-green Samadhi fire. However, the Samadhi fire did not spread to the mechanical white tiger. Instead, it burned for only a few seconds and then dissipated.
I was stunned. Samadhi Fire had no effect on it? That wasn't right. If this was a mechanical white tiger made of steel, then flames should be its weakness. After all, fire overcomes metal. The high temperature of Samadhi Fire was enough to melt all the steel on the mechanical white tiger.
But……
The mechanical white tiger remained unscathed. It roared at me strangely, as if displeased with my attack, and pounced again in my direction. Its speed was twice as fast as before.
