Chapter 251: Sha Hua's Sorrow (I)

"Hahaha~ I'm dying of laughter!" Su Xiaoniu laughed unrestrainedly. That sweet laughter seemed to be able to kill people, but it made my scalp tingle. Damn it, I was hugged by the crazy guy in black. Just now, I was embarrassed. If others saw it, they would think that I had something with you, the crazy guy in black. This damn girl must have had the wrong idea!

I rolled my eyes and ignored her. This kind of thing would only make things worse if I continued to talk about it, so I decided to ignore it.

Instead, the harsh environment and the water ghosts under the boat were the most important. These water ghosts were like corpses soaked in formaldehyde. The deeper they went into the Sanzu River, the paler and more decayed their bodies became. Even their internal organs were rotten and visible, and they were all black, which was disgusting and terrifying to look at.

The most terrifying thing is that these water ghosts turned a blind eye to the strong wind and waves in front of them, and instead shook the boat even harder. Some water ghosts even pounced on the boat, as if they wanted to throw the souls on the boat into the river. In this way, they could rush over in groups and strangle the souls that were about to be reincarnated in the Santuo River.

But I'm not going to be reincarnated, much less a soul. These water ghosts are too naive. Just as I was thinking this, there was a splash behind me, and Su Xiaoniu called out, "Get down!" I shuddered and quickly lay down on the boat. I felt something pounce on my head, and my neck felt cold. When I looked up, a woman covered in bleached white seemed to have used too much force and pounced directly over me, onto the boat, and fell hard onto the deck.

"Damn it! A mere water ghost wants to overpower me?" With the Seven-Star Sword in his right hand and the yellow talisman paper in his left, he stepped on the Flying Steps Gang and chanted the Golden Light Mantra. In an instant, the sky was ablaze with golden light, dyeing the night a golden hue. The blinding light shone directly onto the Santuo River. Immediately, waves of screams were heard from all directions. After these screams, the golden light dissipated, and the river suddenly returned to silence, as if the group of water ghosts had been instantly eliminated or fled far away.

I breathed a sigh of relief. I had originally felt sorry for these water ghosts and endured them out of sympathy. But who would have thought that they would dare to pounce on me and try to throw me into the river. This really annoyed me, and I decisively used a golden talisman to scare them all away.

"Woo, woo, woo!" Suddenly, a terrifying wail erupted from the front. Horrified, I turned back to see that the female water ghost who had leaped onto the boat from the Santuo River was completely unharmed. After the golden light faded, she lunged at me again. This time, she was so powerful, and so sudden, that I couldn't react at all. She slammed headfirst into my chest, lost her balance, and fell off the boat with a thud.

I was thrown into the Santu River by this female water ghost! Damn it! I desperately swam upstream to the ferry, but the river was too turbulent. Several times, just when I was about to grab the boat, I was suddenly swallowed by a huge wave.

Gurgle!

My body was swallowed by the huge waves and sank directly to the bottom of the river. The water of the Sanzu River was already black, and it was impossible to see the bottom from above, let alone me diving into the riverbed. It was pitch black in all directions, and I could not see anything. However, there were many "wuwuwu" cries around me, and they were getting closer and closer...

I knew that they must be the water ghosts at the bottom of the river. After I was thrown into the river, they would swarm over me and try to strangle me under the Sanzu River and make me become one of them.

Fortunately, I'd applied a water-repellent talisman beforehand. Even though the Santu River was pitch black and I couldn't see anything, it was still water. The talisman completely prevented me from being surrounded by the water, making it difficult to cast spells or magical tools underwater. I tried to remain calm and pulled out the Bagua mirror from my arms. Just then, a blurry black figure rushed towards me. I quickly shone the Bagua mirror towards it.

Wow!

A ray of light burst out from the Bagua mirror. Although I couldn't see anything, I heard a scream and then the black shadow disappeared.

It's clear that the Bagua mirror is still very deadly to these water ghosts. I held the Bagua mirror tightly in one hand and stretched the other hand in the river, swimming upstream. However, I hadn't swam for a while when something grabbed my leg and kept pulling me down. Damn, these water ghosts are really asking for death!

I decisively pointed the Bagua mirror at my feet. After the rosy light shot down, I heard screams coming from the bottom of the river... However, there was still something pulling me by my legs, pulling me down continuously!

I was shocked. Could it be that my Bagua mirror didn't even capture the water ghost? Impossible! The Bagua mirror has a wide range, and if the water ghost was right next to my leg, it definitely wouldn't be able to escape! But... why was there something wrapped around my leg?

I couldn't swim up, so I turned back and pulled my legs back. As my eyes gradually approached my legs, I could see clearly from the dark riverbed! What was wrapped around me was not a water ghost, but a red vine, all red like blood, with red flowers growing on it.

Isn't this Lycoris radiata? How could it be growing at the bottom of the Sanzu River?

Lycoris radiata is a type of red spider lily, and another type is Mandragora officinalis.

The Buddhist scriptures record: "The flower of the other shore blooms for a thousand years and withers for a thousand years, its petals never meeting. Love is not cause and effect, but fate determines life and death."

There's a legend about the red spider lily. Legend has it that there were once two people named Bi and An, decreed by heaven to never meet. Deeply cherishing and adoring each other, they finally defied the heavens and secretly met. True to the saying, hearts connect. Upon meeting, Bi discovered An to be a beautiful woman, and An discovered Bi to be a handsome young man. They instantly clicked, falling in love and forming a lifelong bond, determined to remain together for eternity.
