"Subgai" means "tower" in Mongolian, meaning it's a pagoda, exquisitely carved and inlaid with precious jades, and gilded on the exterior. It's the only pagoda-mausoleum in the entire Yinshan ancient temple complex. The seven-story gilded copper pagoda is in the shape of a covered bowl, with broad shoulders and a rounded belly, and is inlaid with pearls and gems.
Gui Sanniang's speculation and interpretation at the time suggested that the first five levels of the seven-story pagoda mausoleum might represent the five poisonous minds of greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, and doubt. To successfully ascend to the unknown sixth level, those who could not overcome these five poisons would be lost within the mausoleum, a dangerous situation.
