After entering the purple door, it was still pitch black in front of us, and behind us, there were still eight doors, but the direction seemed to be reversed. I frowned. Could it be that there were two eight-colored doors within one Dumen?
"The seal of the white door has been unlocked, it's true." Su Xiaoniu walked to the white door, stretched out her hand, and found that she could put her hand into the door, which meant that the white door was indeed open!
The white door corresponds to the open door, and the intruders who enter the open door are the golden-haired old man and Man Yuanyi and others. So, now we just have to wait for them.
So, the three of us waited in front of the white door, our eyes fixed on it. After a while, we heard a slight noise from inside the white door, followed by a flash of white light. In an instant, everything in our sight was white and we couldn't see anything clearly.
I actually thought I was blind at the time, until we heard the ethereal voice of an old man, and then we realized that we must have passed this "layer of doubt".
Doubting and denying everything without any reason or basis, jumping to conclusions based on assumptions, and blindly believing in everything one believes is also doubt. Doubt or confusion about the Buddhist principles of cause and effect and the viewpoints of Buddhism is also doubt. From the perspective of practice, the main situations include the following:
"First, body view, which is the attachment to a true self within the five aggregates of body and mind. In daily life or during meditation, being overly concerned with one's physical and mental state or reactions, and clinging to sensations, are all examples of body view."
"Second, extreme views. Clinging to the views of annihilation and permanence is an extreme view. Believing that the "self" is eternal is clinging to "permanence"; believing that death is the end of everything, that everything is over and gone, is clinging to "annihilation." These two erroneous views are extreme views. Furthermore, due to a lack of sufficient wisdom and enlightenment, one cannot correctly discern the essence or meaning of all things, and cannot correctly understand the principles of "all dharmas are only consciousness, dependent origination and emptiness, and wonderful existence and true emptiness." One either clings to emptiness or to existence, either to "truth" or to "illusion," and so on. These are all extreme views."
"Third: Wrong views. All incorrect thoughts and ideas that lead to negative karma are called wrong views. For example, 'No poison, no hero' is a wrong view."
"Fourth: clinging to one's own views, clinging to the belief that only one's own views are correct, is called clinging to one's own views."
"Fifth: clinging to the precepts and prohibitions. For practitioners, clinging to incorrect precepts and failing to properly understand them is considered clinging to the precepts and prohibitions. This problem is particularly prominent among lay Buddhists these days. For example, one of the Five Precepts is "not to drink alcohol." This precept was originally established to prevent excessive drinking and the resulting sexual misconduct and negative karma. Frequent drinking can also lead to a lack of clarity of mind and body, hindering the development of wisdom. The original intention of this precept in the time of Shakyamuni was to keep away from all intoxicants that could lead to a loss of our true nature. Conversely, if we drink moderately without losing our minds and maintaining a calm mind, this does not hinder the clarity of mind and body, and the precept loses its meaning. It is precisely because we often lack concentration and wisdom that we need to observe the precepts."
At this moment, we waited until the old man had finished speaking before asking him, "Are you done?"
The old man's laughter came over: "Among the three of you, one of you has doubts about his companions. Although it was due to various factors, it is ultimately a serious mistake. You have not passed the Five Poisonous Hearts Suspicion perfectly. One of you must leave one behind in order to pass..."
"I'll leave you a ghost!" Before he could finish his sentence, we all spitted at him and rushed up to punch and kick him. We managed to beat the old man to his knees and beg for mercy, and then opened the door to the next floor.
…
The previous five levels were the five poisonous minds of greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance and doubt. We have overcome them one by one. Now we are at the unknown sixth level. No one knows what difficulties will arise. We only know that we must face the numerous difficulties and move forward to get what we want.
However, when we reached the sixth floor, the environment was no longer pitch black. What appeared before our eyes was the warm sun and clear weather. In front of us was a small manor with a small villa inside. In the garden, the sound of a sports car horn came, accompanied by a woman's voice.
We walked in curiously. The gate of the manor was closed. Just as I was about to ring the doorbell, someone came to open the door. However, it was an old woman dressed as a nanny who opened the door. Then she said respectfully, "Madam, why are you going out so early today?"
"The baby is sick, I have to go to the hospital quickly. By the way, Grandma Sun, if he comes back later, please tell him that I went to the hospital." A white Maserati sports car slowly drove out of the manor.
As the car passed us, we were surprised to see that the woman inside was Ning Xue! In her left arm, she was holding a crying little kid in open-crotch pants. With her right hand, she expertly wielded the steering wheel, driving the car out of the manor and slowly heading off into the distance.
I almost subconsciously called out, "Ning Xue?"
However, Ning Xue drove past me without even paying any attention to me. Or rather, she didn't even see me.
"What's going on?" I was confused. Could this be the sixth level of Dumen?
"Hi! Grandma Sun, is our hero at home?" A BMW drove over from a distance. Yu Jie got out of the car and went up to greet Grandma Sun.
Granny Sun smiled and shook her head, "No."
Yu Jie shook his head and said, "This guy is really something. How come he has been missing for three days and two days?"
Granny Sun continued smiling and said, "You know my young master hasn't eaten meat since returning from Yinshan. He's been a vegetarian and observing the precepts. I'm starting to suspect he's going to become a monk. You're a good brother to him, so try to persuade him when you get a chance."
