In ancient times, Jiaxing was a major town on the banks of the Jiangnan River, known as Jiahe. The Jiangnan River refers to the Jiangnan Grand Canal, now the Grand Canal. At that time, the people of Jiahe were simple and lived in peace and contentment. Jiaxing boasts a rich history spanning over 2,000 years, beginning with its establishment during the Qin Dynasty.
