Chapter 9: Passing the Yin God

By the time I had tied the red handkerchief to the donkey's hoof with the red string, it was already approaching three in the afternoon. Su Xiaoniu told me to get ready and start.

But I felt like I wasn't fully prepared. I just memorized the formula and performed the Gangfa twice, and now I can go find Huo Yan? Shit, I was sweating profusely at that moment, completely unsure.

Just like when you go to pick up girls, if you have enough money with you, you will be confident and act awesome, but if you don’t have much money, I’m afraid even your tone of voice will be a little soft.

This is how I feel now. I packed the donkey hoof with a red handkerchief twisted with red string, as well as the remaining red string, handkerchief, and salt into a supermarket bag, then wrapped the bag with clothes to avoid being seen, and then walked towards the toilet near the warehouse, but I was scared because I was not sure at all!

As I walked, I asked Su Xiaoniu how confident I was that I could succeed. Without even thinking, Su Xiaoniu said, "You're quite talented, so you should have a one percent chance of success." I was completely floored.

Even with decent talent, you only have a one percent chance of success? This is clearly asking me to die!

I have a premonition that my departure will be like this: the wind whistles and the Yi River is cold, and the warrior leaves and never returns...

Su Xiaoniu laughed at me and said that it was not too late to turn back now, but I had already come here, and it cost me more than a hundred yuan to buy these materials. How could I just leave like this and get my money's worth?

My mind was spinning at the time. Which was more important, my life or the money? I didn't think much about it at the time, and I trudged nervously to the toilet near the warehouse.

The restroom was a three-story yellow building, with the words "Company Restroom" emblazoned on the ground floor porch. Surrounding it were a large patch of trees and shrubs, with a massive willow tree at the back door. The area around the door and the porch was quite messy, likely due to Fu Xiang's death, and no one had come to clean it up.

This toilet used to be opened and closed by a sanitation worker every morning and evening, and cleaned it at the same time. But after what happened, who would dare to come now?

The weather was fluctuating during the last winter, but at this moment, not only was the sky covered in gray and snow, with no sign of sunlight, but the entire sky was gloomy, a gloomy atmosphere that made it hard to breathe. Two people had died in this toilet, and Huo Yan's body was still nearby, creating an eerie and terrifying atmosphere.

Luckily, it was only around 3 p.m., so I was feeling a bit braver. If it were nighttime, I'd probably have peed myself by now. I figured, even if it were a ghost, it wouldn't come out and kill people in broad daylight, right? There was no sound near the restroom, but I still didn't dare set foot inside.

However, Su Xiaoniu urged me to put the donkey hoof with the red handkerchief twisted in it on the toilet roof before the Feng Shui master arrived. I looked up at the top of the toilet and was like, "Oh my god, the toilet is so high up on the third floor, how can I reach it?"

Anyway, I didn't dare to go in. Fortunately, there was a relatively low stone wall outside the toilet. I climbed along the stone wall and barely reached the second floor of the toilet, but I couldn't reach the third floor. Su Xiaoniu said that it would be okay to put it on the second floor. I felt like I was pardoned and threw the donkey's hoof to the second floor, and at the same time pulled out one end of the red line inside the donkey's hoof.

Then, Su Xiaoniu asked me to use needle and thread to insert the remaining red handkerchiefs into the ground at the four corners of the toilet, so that they would be connected at the location of the donkey's hoof thrown on the second floor of the toilet, and string them together with red needle and thread. A total of four red threads were pulled out from the red handkerchiefs in the four corners, plus the red thread on the donkey's hoof, for a total of five red threads.

Then comes the last step, which is to sprinkle salt around the toilet. This is the easiest and I did it quickly.

Unexpectedly, just as I finished all this, I heard faint voices from the warehouse. The voices sounded familiar, and one of them said, "Mr. Feng Shui, are you really sure you can get rid of that ghost Huo Yan?"

I shuddered when I heard that. It had to be that bastard Man Yuanyi. I'd told him to stay out of this, but he wouldn't listen. I didn't want to be killed by him, and I didn't want to see my colleagues like Zhao Xi, Ning Xue, and Yu Jie die. So I listened to Su Xiaoniu and mustered up the courage to give it a try. Unexpectedly, he showed up just as I was getting ready!

"Hide!" Even if Su Xiaoniu didn't say it, I knew it. I looked around and I absolutely didn't dare to hide in the toilet. Fortunately, the toilet was quite large and surrounded by large trees and bushes. In a hurry, I hid in the bushes.

The footsteps were getting closer, and I could clearly see that the person in front was none other than Feng Shui Master Man Yuanyi. Su Xiaoniu told me that Feng Shui masters have many nicknames, such as geomancy, yin and yang, house divination, xingfa, qingnang, and kanyu.

Their abilities include warding off evil spirits, avoiding misfortune and seeking good fortune, chanting spells and talismans, observing the stars and water, etc. It sounds powerful, but to me, Man Yuanyi seems to be just a facade.

At this moment, Man Yuanyi was holding a landscape painting in his left hand, a blunt sword in his right hand, and a cloth bag bulging on his left waist, which should contain a lot of tools, while his right waist was tied with three layers of yellow talismans strung together with a red thread.

Only then did I notice that Man Yuanyi's dress was a little different from before. His previous well-dressed image was gone, replaced by a look that looked a bit like a Taoist priest.

I doubt it. Is he sure he is a Feng Shui master and not a Taoist priest?

"As long as Huo Yan's body isn't cremated, your company won't have peace." Man Yuanyi glanced at the third-floor restroom, then frowned and said seriously, "Sure enough... this aura is clearly much more unusual than the last time I did feng shui."

As Man Yuanyi walked toward the restroom, I saw Ning Xue, Zhao Xi, Yu Jie, and the others following him. I immediately felt anxious. If something happened, who would save them? Didn't Man Yuanyi consider the consequences at all?
