Chapter 13 is about trust.

Left with no other option, Lin Nai took the girl in the gothic twin-tailed maid outfit out to a restaurant.

It was dusk, the setting sun lingered on the horizon, and the streets were bustling with traffic.

Passersby came and went, and anyone who saw the girl following behind Linna would glance at her a few more times. Some of them, walking together, would whisper to each other and point and whisper.

"Wow, did you see that? What a cute girl!"

"Great legs, great legs..."

"White stockings! White stockings!"

"Mom! I'm in love!"

"So cute! A little sister this cute must poop be rainbow-colored, right?"

"Damn, I'm so envious of that guy, he's got such a lucky girlfriend..."

"......"

As I followed Linnai at night, I would occasionally hear passersby commenting on her.

Even without hearing what was said, I could see out of the corner of my eye that the passersby were staring at her...

The girl was so shy she looked like a ripe crab, and she wanted nothing more than to bury her face in Linnai's back.

"Lin...Lin Nai..."

The girl finally couldn't take it anymore. She gently tugged at Lin Nai's sleeve, not daring to lift her head to look around, and hummed in a voice as low as a mosquito's buzz, "Why are they all staring at me?"

"Uh..." Lin Nai scratched her ear, unsure how to answer.

Nighttime is inherently a beauty of unparalleled allure.

Coupled with that eye-catching gothic white silk maid outfit, it's hard not to attract attention on the street.

The girl buried her face completely in Lin Nai's back and asked in a muffled voice, "Is it... because there's something wrong with the outfit I'm wearing today?"

"No, no, how could that be?" Linna said seriously, "The clothes you're wearing are very common among humans."

"Then why did they...?"

"You're naturally good-looking, so why is there any reason?"

"But last time we went out together, I didn't see so many people staring at me!"

“Emmmm…” Lin Nai didn’t know how to make up a story for a moment.

By this time, some passersby had already taken out their phones to take pictures of the girl.

"I can't take it anymore, I can't take it anymore..." The girl was almost crying in desperation: "I want to... I want to hide for a while..." As she spoke, her pupils gradually turned red.

It seems she's planning to hide again, using her second personality to escape.

Lin Nai was so frightened that she hurriedly said, "Hey, no, no, no!"

Holy crap, if that red-eyed woman comes out and sees me dressed up like this, won't I get trampled to death by her little feet when I get back?

"Listen to me first. Didn't you say before that you needed to exercise more and not be so socially awkward and introverted? As a dark angel, you need to be brave and assertive, right?"

Lin Nai said earnestly, "If that's the case, how can we keep relying on 'her'?"

At night, the child pouted, looking aggrieved: "But..."

Lin Nai whispered to her, "Just treat this as a form of spiritual practice. When you can face other people's strange looks without flinching, you will have been transformed."

“Cultivation…” Ye Wan’er hesitated for a moment, then timidly raised her head.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that many people on the street were still secretly taking pictures of her with their phones.

"No, no!" The girl buried her head back down.

Linnaeus: "..."

“How about this,” Linna said, “If you always feel embarrassed or insecure, just hold my hand.”

"Ah..." Upon hearing this, Ye Wan'er's cheeks turned even redder: "Hold...hold my hand?"

"You may have misunderstood something. In the human world, holding hands represents trust, and it is very normal for boyfriends and girlfriends to hold hands."

"......is that so?"

"Do you black angels have some other meaning in holding hands?"

"......"

After hesitating for a moment, Ye Er slowly reached out and grasped Lin Nai's large hand.

Lin Nai's expression remained unchanged, but a strong feeling stirred within her.

"How are you feeling? Are you feeling any better?" Lin Nai asked, pretending to be nonchalant.

"Mmm..." the girl responded softly.

Neither of them spoke again, and they walked silently toward the food street ahead.

Although Lin Nai did not turn around, she was surprised to find that the girl behind her seemed to have really quieted down all of a sudden, and did not utter a sound.

Nightfall, head bowed, held Lin Nai's hand and silently followed behind him.

My attention immediately went to my hands...

Of course, there's no time to care about anyone else...

"Hey? Brother Liang, isn't that Lin Nai from our class?"

Not far away, a few people drinking milk tea at a roadside milk tea shop saw Lin Nai through the floor-to-ceiling window.

Liang Wei raised his head, the thin lenses of his glasses reflecting light.

A guy with freckles on his face next to him said, "Holy crap, when did this guy get such a beautiful girlfriend?"

"Yeah, right," another blond-haired boy chimed in indignantly. "I heard he just got expelled by the counselor today. This guy's soul power level hasn't budgeed at 0.5 after half a year of university. How could such a loser manage to get such a gorgeous girlfriend? It's unbelievable..."

"But now that this guy's been expelled, whose points will we use to deduct from our class's score if we fail a task in the future?"

"Hehe, of course, whoever comes in last gets the penalty..."

"Exactly, just find someone else who's easy to bully to take their place."
