Chapter 18 Undead Greatswordsman

The three students were on edge, staring nervously into the darkness ahead.

In the darkness, the outline of a very tall human figure could indeed be seen.

However, the environment was too dark to see his true face.

"Who is it? Show yourself!"

The blond-haired man forced a smile and said, "Why are you scaring people there?"

"......"

The tall figure finally moved, slowly emerging from the darkness.

As the "person" emerged from the darkness, Liang Wei and the others could hear another eerie sound.

"Sizzle... sizzle... sizzle..."

It sounded like some kind of metal being slowly dragged across the ground, making a scraping sound...

The pupils of Liang Wei and his group gradually dilated.

That wasn't a person at all, but a humanoid undead monster!

The undead monster had half a male face. If you only looked at that half, it was quite handsome, but the other half was hideous and terrifying. Its skin was as white as tree sap, and the outline of its bones was clearly visible. Its tattered helmet was connected to its long, white, frost-like hair.

Half of his body was clad in armor resembling that of a human, though the armor was tattered and worn; the other half of his body was a ghostly blue light, burning coldly like icy ice.

That long arm was hanging down, and behind it was dragging a huge, broken greatsword!

The greatsword was riddled with holes and cracks, its texture was dull, and it was only covered by dark red bloodstains. It was only half of a metal blade, while the other half was a blade of light formed by the convergence of eerie, dark blue phantoms.

Liang Wei gasped.

The pockmarked man and the blond man had almost the same reaction the moment they saw the undead monster.

They had never seen undead creatures before, so their first reaction was...

"They're demons!"

Moreover, judging from its appearance, its aura, and its terrifying sense of oppression, it's clear at a glance that it's not a low-level monster!

"Run!"

Liang Wei and the man with pockmarks reacted quickly, immediately turning around and running away.

Those who reacted slowly, like the blond-haired guy, stood there dumbfounded for a moment before realizing that all the other classmates had run away.

By the time he realized what was happening, the towering undead monster wielding a giant sword was already right in front of him...

A shadow fell over the blond man's face.

"ah!!!......"

Screams echoed throughout the entire street.

......

Tang Hongshan, Lin Yuxi, and Yang Xiaochuan arrived at the scene of the incident at Space Gate No. 2.

The situation at the scene was even more dire than they had imagined.

A dozen or so night watchmen lay sprawled on the ground, clutching their wounds and groaning in pain.

Several people were seriously injured, some with broken arms and some with broken legs.

Blood was everywhere.

Medical personnel who arrived at the scene were carrying one wounded person after another away on stretchers to receive treatment.

The surrounding environment was also left in a mess due to the battle.

Tang Hongshan frowned slightly.

The Night Watchmen stationed here are all Level 3-4 superhumans.

This monster that escaped from the portal was only one, yet it managed to injure so many Night Watchmen so severely, indicating that it was at least at the level of a Wraith!

Yang Xiaochuan squatted down to examine the injured: "Captain Tang, these people's wounds seem to have been caused by some kind of bladed weapon. The wounds are all very clean, and the direction of each person's wound is very consistent."

"That's not all." Lin Yuxi, with her hands in her baseball jersey pockets, gestured with her chin towards her surroundings:

"That wall was also cleaved in two by a single sword strike, as were the four large trees over there, which were also cut in half with a single sword strike, and the direction of the cuts matched the marks left by the wounded."

Yang Xiaochuan exclaimed in surprise: "So, all these marks came from the same sword?"

Tang Hongshan's expression became very solemn.

What level of demonic being could instantly kill over a dozen Night's Watch members with a single sword strike, while simultaneously wreaking havoc on the surrounding environment like this?

Could it be the legendary Dark Blood Sword Demon...?

wrong.

The Darkblood Sword Demon is a demon of the Senluo level.

The ranks of demons, from lowest to highest, are: Evil Spirit, Demon, Wraith, All Things, and so on...

Further on, it is said that there are also lord-level and king-level demon descendants.

But almost no one has ever seen it.

If they are truly demons of the Senluo level, these people have absolutely no chance of surviving!

The demons had absolutely no reason to hold back.

After a moment's thought, Tang Hongshan went to the side of a wounded soldier and squatted down to examine him.

He took a small amount of blood from the wounded Night Watchman's wound with his finger and handed it to Yang Xiaochuan, saying, "Xiaochuan, analyze the composition of the blood!"

Yang Xiaochuan: "Okay, sure."

Yang Xiaochuan took out a laptop from the backpack behind him, put a little bit of blood on the computer's sensor, and then quickly tapped his fingers on it.

"Huh? That's strange..."

"What's wrong? Have you figured it out yet?"

"The analysis is complete, but..." Yang Xiaochuan's expression was strange: "There are no traces of demonic energy in the injured person's blood... Could it be that the one who injured the Night Watchman wasn't a demon?"

Tang Hongshan remained silent, seemingly lost in thought.

Lin Yuxi exclaimed in surprise, "Not a monster? It came from the other side of the spatial portal, what else could it be but a monster?"

"...That's what I'm going to say next." Yang Xiaochuan raised his head with a complicated expression and said, "You might not believe it, but this blood doesn't contain any components corrupted by demonic energy, yet it shows signs of being corrupted by divine power..."

Tang Hongshan and Lin Yuxi: "!!??"

This time, even Tang Hongshan looked extremely shocked: "Are you serious?"

"Yes!" Yang Xiaochuan nodded affirmatively: "This situation usually only occurs in wounded soldiers attacked by Apostles... because, as far as we humans know, only Apostles possess a trace of divine power..."

Lin Yuxi was a little confused and scratched her head: "What... does this mean? The one who injured these Night Watchmen was an Apostle? An Apostle ran over from the portal, injured humans, and then escaped and disappeared into the city?"

She felt like her brain was overloaded...

Tang Hongshan looked up at one of the on-site supervisors: "Is there surveillance footage?"

The person in charge said, "Yes, but it's no longer valid."

"It's broken?"

"The monster that escaped from the portal seemed to possess some kind of domain ability; all the conventional electronic devices near the portal were paralyzed the moment it appeared."

Tang Hongshan: "..."

The person in charge said, "However, those who were still conscious at the scene described the monster's appearance to us."

"They said it was a tall, humanoid creature, its entire body enveloped in a ball of eerie blue flames, with long white hair, wearing tattered armor, and wielding a giant greatsword."
